Eichel is a loser. What kind of bum goes 6 months without scoring? It should be easy ... there's not even a goalie blocking the net from July to August. I bet Casey Mittelstadt scores plenty of goals in the offseason. That's because he's a winner. I like centers that score goals in the offseason.

Good win by the Bills. They've certainly shown glimpses on offense and particularly defense where they can play well. Now it's just working on having the good version of the offense and defense show up more often than not. I still have big time doubts, but I would love for them to prove me wrong. We'll see.

I'm pretty sure the people who eat vegan stuff that's made to mimic animal products are the ones doing it primarily for health reasons (cholesterol, weight, etc) vs the type that do it because they have moral or environmental objections to eating meat products. At least that's what one of them told me in health class one time when I asked the question. This was over a decade ago (close to 2 actually) but it made some sense to me. Having your vegan products mimic animal products probably makes it an easier transition for those people who are brand new to the club/cult as well.

Doing this would put Gorges back in the top 6. That's enough of a reason to pass. We've finally managed to put a competent top 6 on defense together so breaking it up by losing one of our best LHD would leave us scrambling to find a replacement for ourselves and would probably lead to us rushing Guhle into the lineup before he is ready. Mittelstadt is the only player you listed out of those prospects that has a ceiling anywhere near Nylander. What kind of extension would you plan to offer Duchene when he is 28 and set to become a UFA? Or are you content to trade one of our best LHD who also happens to be on a sweetheart value contract for a guy you're going to be stuck overpaying or letting him walk after 2 seasons?
-
That's an awfully big risk given that Kane's medical records are probably as thick as a dictionary at this point. If he sustains an injury at the wrong time they risk not being able to trade him at all. I don't think they'd take the risk. If they were content with getting picks and prospects for Duchene they could just trade him for better picks and prospects rather than swapping Duchene for Kane (plus whatever) and then rolling the dice on Kane being healthy at the deadline so they could swap him for more picks and prospects.
-
Why would Colorado want Kane? They were garbage last year and will likely be garbage this season while Kane is on the last year of his contract.
-
If the Hawks manage to get away with this scam then it's time for Moulson and Gorges to suffer ghost injuries that put them both on LTIR and frees up their cap space as well.

To be fair, we didn't tank to stick a 2nd overall pick center on the wing either. Reinhart was drafted to be a center for us so it's important for him to get some experience there before we are seriously ready to contend. I agree that Reinhart needs to be surrounded by better talent though. I was hoping he'd get at least one of either Kane or Pominville but it looks like the guy who is supposed to earn $10+ million will be the one who gets propped up by our best wingers sans Okposo. I just think getting Reinhart acclimated to the center position this season (while we're not going to seriously contend for the cup) is the right move long term for the franchise. Hopefully they keep him there and he can earn his stripes while the team is learning the new system and figuring out how to win together. Then maybe we'll get a chance to upgrade on the wings and some of our younger prospects (Mittelstadt, Nylander, Asplund, etc.) will be ready to provide some upgrades to the main roster in 2018-2019.

No way. Unless you can leave her in the dust (which is sometimes impossible given the amount of traffic/lights,etc), you always want bad drivers like that in front of you so you can keep your eye on them and not get rear ended.
-
The power play was the best in the league last year without him, so Pominville isn't needed there. It also has the added benefit of removing Reinhart from Eichel's wing so Reinhart can center his own line.
-
If Pominville shows chemistry with Eichel it shouldn't be an issue playing them together for 5 on 5 all game. Just don't have Pominville play any special teams.
-
All it takes is one though. 30 GM's can all think the asking price is too high but if 1 GM offers the contract than what the other 30 GM's think doesn't matter.

Same here. I'm sick of watching putrid offenses. Last year was way more fun to watch because the offense actually produced. That's just one of the reasons I didn't care for the McDermott hire. I want an offensive minded head coach. We've had decent defenses for the majority of the last 20 years and it hasn't helped us make the playoffs at all. How about a good version of those 2? Especially if we plan to pin the hopes and dreams of the franchise on some new QB. Wouldn't it be nice is he had an offensive minded coach to help him learn and become a productive QB?
-
Too bad Taylor didn't have somebody like Sammy Watkins to throw to.
-
Zay Jones was close but no cigar. Disappointing loss. Will McDermott blame God? Did the other team pray harder?
-
Barely got that field goal but I'll take it. We are lucky the game is this close. The defense is bailing us out.
-
Poyer had been a solid addition. The Bills are fortunate to only be down 6. If we can score before half we get the ball back to start the second half and do something with it they could tie it up or even take the lead. Taylor sacked on first down. So much for my optimism but maybe they'll still surprise me.
-
Seems plausible but shouldn't his agent be taking care of all the paperwork? Seems more like he needs to replace that guy.
-
We're getting killed on time of possession. If the Bills can't start getting regular first downs and getting stops on defense, our defense will be completely spent by early in the second half.

Surprisingly it wasn't vinegar based pork bbq (which I really enjoy). It had a tomato based bbq sauce but they were phenomenal. The sauce was a little sweeter than I normally go for but with all the jalapenos they loaded onto it created a good balance.

I went to the last Bills games here in Charlotte 8 years ago but I'm skipping this one since I decided to stop giving the NFL my money. Since the Panthers are the local team here I can watch from the comfort of my couch without spending a dime though or having to illegally stream it. That being said, it anyone actually goes to this game I highly recommend the pulled pork nachos. I had those last time and I still remember how damn good they were.

Man, I feel old realizing that half the board were kids when that movie came out. I was 23 and hungover as all hell after crashing on my old college neighbor's couch. I hadn't smoked in many months prior so he packed the bowl a few times as we watched it. Funny as all hell, even if I hadn't been stoned, but adding that in made it even better.

They were in the Finals back in 2011 and Wikipedia said Kane signed his extension with Winnipeg on September 15, 2012 so it was right after their cup run and before the next season started (2012-2013). I'm guessing Vancouver either wasn't interested (doubtful), couldn't afford him under the cap (possible), or was too afraid the break the unwritten rule by extending an offer sheet (possible).
-
As for Duchene, I would pass on him. He'll probably be expecting a big contract with a raise in 2 years and I'd rather not give a 28 year old a multi-year deal for big money. I don't dispute that. Just because he was eager to jump ship from Winnipeg 5 or 6 years ago in order to return to Vancouver doesn't necessarily mean he's chomping at the bit to go back there now. A lot can change in 5 years and the fact that he's not in the same city or with the same team that he was trying to escape could mean that he's happy in his current situation.
-
Wasn't that when he was in Winnipeg though? Maybe he just hated that area or didn't like his teammates which is understandable given the track suit antics/animosity with Byfuglien. Despite that, he signed a 6 year deal with them anyway so I think the whole Vancouver angle is overblown.
