  1. Anchovies are a main ingredient in worchestershire sauce so even if a Caesar salad doesn't use actual anchovies it will still contain anchovies due to the worcestershire sauce.
  2. We only gave Moulson 1 contract. Murray traded him to Minnesota after Darcy acquired him from the Islanders for Vanek and a first when they were both in the last year of their deals. If Murray was worried about the cap he should have given him a shorter deal for higher money. Something like $24 million over 4 years or even $21 million over 3 years. Giving a 31 year old a 5 year deal was beyond stupid. I think Okposo should go on LTIR until he's fully healthy. If he needs a conditioning stint in Rochester before he comes back to get into game shape so be it.
  3. It's not sustainable from year to year but there's definitely a chance this could be their year that good luck finally breaks the Bills way. 9 more weeks to know for sure.
  4. I'm happy they're winning but I've seen this movie before. I'm still gonna wait and see how it unfolds before I declare Sean McWrestler the new messiah. Their turnover ratio is unreal. I hope they can sustain it through the season. This team is long overdue to catch a break.

Hey now, there's no reason to bring Casey Mittelstadt into this mess. I like to think I see both sides of this issue. My Dad served in the Marine Corps for 26 years and change and based on his advice I never enlisted but I've grown up around members of the military my entire life. On the surface it seems great to honor the troops but I don't really trust groups who wrap themselves in Patriotism to serve an agenda. As for incorporating it into sporting events, I find that even more of an eyebrow raiser. It's tough to accept that these big money leagues are really honoring the troops when you know they are charging the military good money to do these fly overs and other events. The same goes for whatever they call the pink month in the NFL for breast cancer awareness. I can't remember the figures but only a small portion of the profits (not even revenues if I remember correctly) actually go towards breast cancer research and/or organization that help patients/victims. Sure they are raising awareness, but it's also and easy way to boost sales and pump up the PR machine to make them seem like caring organizations.
  6. Because Garrison is a UFA at the end of this season. It doesn't help this season but we don't need any cap relief this season because Eichel and Reinhart are both on their ELC until July 1st.
  7. That's always the risk of renting out a player but that's the price you have to pay in order to acquire those rental assets. If they don't want to risk losing him at all, they need to extend him before the deadline. The risk then becomes will he live up to his contract or do we get swindled by contract year performance.
  8. Douse him with itching powder and let him claim whatever skin disorder Hossa used so Chicago could circumvent the cap.
  9. His salary would count against the cap even if he cleared waivers and played in the AHL though. All of it except about $1 million which would be eaten up by his replacement anyway.
  10. It wouldn't be too hard to do assuming he wants to sign here, we're willing to pay him (in term and money), and we trade him to a team that won't have the cap space to re-sign him. His current cap hit is $5.25 million and we can retain half so that's $2.625 million then you prorate it for the 80% or so percentage of games that have already been played by the deadline. That should mean that basically every team except those already against the cap should have room for him or could easily make the room but sending a player back to us. If we send him to a team that likely won't have the place to re-sign him though, it would increase our chances of getting him back.
  11. That guy is lucky that Casey Mittelstadt is a just and loving God. Casey could have lit him on fire and sent him to hell, made lightning crash upon his head, sent a plague to his house, made it rain frogs, or instantly stricken him with ass cancer or some sort of face aids. He chose to be kind and forgiving though. The rest of you non-believers on this board should take it as a warning. There are only a handful of us that are truly aware of his greatness. Abandon your false gods (every God but Casey), repent, and he will forgive you, save humanity, and deliver this franchise unlimited Stanley Cups (not cusps but actual Cups).
  12. I understand what you're saying. I was just poking fun at the whole blue collar mantra. After all the bums Bills fans have endured in past 2 decades (Rob Johnson, Alex Van Pelt, JP Losman, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, EJ Manuel, Kyle Orton, etc.) we finally have a decent quarterback and it seems like only 10% of the fan base actually appreciates him. I wish we had given Kelly Holcomb and Thad Lewis more of a chance. They certainly weren't world beaters by any stretch but they were certainly better than Losman and Manuel. Holcomb in particular could have got us to the playoffs. Even the defense seemed to be much stronger when Holcomb was in and wasn't stuck being on the field 90% of the time dealing with the endless 3 and outs followed by the occasional 80 yard touchdown that put the defense right back on the field.
  13. Yeah, he needs to pretend to be blue collar........ like the rest of the city does. Bring his lunch pail, thermos, and hard hat to work everyday. Maybe jump through a table or something.
  14. So we should going into next season with our best winger being a 35 year old Jason Pominville with 1 year left on his deal. That's a recipe for success if I ever saw one!
  15. I agree. They need to find a way to keep him, especially given the rest of the team's struggles at wing. Without him, our only productive winger is a 34 year old player who only has 2 years left on his contract.
  16. If worshipping at the altar of Casey Mittelstadt is wrong, then I don't want to be right. He'll need to play a few more than a dozen games to crack the century mark though. Then again, all the NCAA teams could just forfeit their playoffs games against Minnesota in order to avoid the embarrassment of being completely outclassed by him though, allowing him to play the 30 or so games he'd need to break the 100 point mark. They MAY be smart enough to do it. They are institutes of higher learning after all.
  17. Yes, sir. He'll probably only be playing at half speed to rack up those points as well. He won't want to show up the rest of the team, because he has too much character for that. After a season or two the league will probably force him to play in a sled just to make it fair to other teams. At that point we'll have to settle for something close to 2 or 2.5 points per game from him.
  18. The only way Mittelstadt has a 30-40 point season is if he signs after his college season is over and he only plays 10 or 12 games until the end of the year to get those 40 points.
  19. Solid win. I wasn't a fan of the McDermott hire but if he can keep this up, he'll win me over. They seem to be getting more lucky bounces and better treatment by the zebras as well. I hope it continues and I hope they fix the clock management issues. Not even being able to attempt a field goal at the end of the first half could have easily costs us a win.
  20. Not necessarily. You just have to sign a bunch of aging vets and AHL/NHL tweeners to take their spots. The important thing is to make sure they are only signed to 1 year deals which shouldn't be hard when you consider that most of them should consider themselves lucky to even get offered an NHL contract to begin with. Cody Franson on a 1 year $5 million contract type deals. That being said, I wouldn't do it either, but that's because I think the team will improve sooner than the 3 year waiting period that Neo proposed. In fact, we'll be awesome as soon as Casey Mittelstadt decides to grace us with him presence.
  21. If this team isn't going to be ready to seriously compete until 2020 then they need to start selling some assets now. That means we should go ahead and trade Kane, Pominville, Lehner, and Scandella (with salary retained if necessary to up their values) along with O'Reilly and Okposo (although I wouldn't retain on any of these deals since they are signed for too long and you can only retain on two contracts at a time so we'd lose flexibility). It also means we might as well keep our cap anchors (Moulson, Gorges, and Bogosian) because we'll need to find a way to get to the cap floor after we jettison everyone over the age of 26 that has any sort of value whatsoever. We should also quit jerking Reinhart around and just leave him at center, until he absolutely proves he sucks at it. When he hits that point put him back on Eichel's wing to recoup his production, build up his value, and then sell him off if there's a good offer. If there's no good offer bridge him repeatedly until he's a UFA and trade him at whatever deadline before you're forced to pay him real money.
  22. Go to the dump and find yourself a curved sword. Then huff some paint. Actually huff the paint first, that should make it easier to ignore the smell of the dump.
  23. I already said in the other thread that he would play 1st line center and goalie simultaneously while scoring 10 goals a game and pitching shutouts.
  24. That sucks. He was my favorite character on the show. Gonna have to batton down the hatches for the storm that's brewing.
