  1. Lehner is good but not great. He's worth keeping around for relatively cheap but I don't think I'd shell out big money to keep him long term. Better to trade him near the deadline (if there's a good offer) and go with Ullmark and whomever next year so we can use the cap space elsewhere.
  2. Sam Axe was the main draw for that show (for me at least), even though he was a secondary character. They even made a movie about his character. It's in my collection but I'm not 100% sure of the title. I think it was called the Rise and Fall of Sam Axe though.
  3. My reactions to the game: Awesome to watch. This game is exhibit A for why domes in cold weather climates suck. Peterson still sucks. Taylor needs to start if he's healthy and Webb should be promoted to backup. This may happen anyway depending on the severity of Peterman's injury. I was sure we lost this game when Indy went for 2 and got it. The flag was legit though and I'm glad the refs did their job for once. The Wrestler was stupid for punting on 4th and 1 when we were near mid field. We lucked out with the win with the help of the weather.
  4. I would think the fact that they've added an additional team this season would at least boost revenues by their gate and merchandise receipts.
  5. Hell yeah. I love all things Bruce Campbell, but this role is his best by far. Distant second for me is his role of Jack Styles in the Jack of All Trades from the year 2000. It really bummed me out when they cancelled that show. He was great as nursing home Elvis in Bubba Hotep as well.
  6. If you enjoyed the movies, you'll love the show. I couldn't have asked for it to be any better than it is other than just more of everything (more seasons, more episodes, longer episodes). It's the perfect blend of horror, gore, and cheesy slap stick comedy.
  7. I already posted this in the awesome thread, but I'll post it here as well for the people who might skip over either thread. I just got an email that the first 2 seasons of the greatest show ever made (Ash vs Evil Dead) are now available to stream on Netflix. Hopefully this increases the awareness and popularity of the show so Starz renews it for seasons 4 and 5 (season 3 starts airing on Sunday, February 25th). I welcome everyone to watch it. You're welcome in advance.

  9. Maybe it's pronounced differently than I'm thinking but the name of the establishment seems to fit it perfectly in both a funny and sad type of way (plus nausea). Time to go puke now.
  10. Normally I only reserve this level of city hate for Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, and Dallas, but I like it. 2 votes for the cliff.
  11. Sorry, Chet. Fancy bread may be superior but it goes stale too quickly once it gets sliced up. Some of us don't have time to stop of the grocery store every other day to ensure there's fresh bread in the house so we go with the stuff that keeps longer. Plus I grew up relatively poor and that's usually what we had when I was a kid so eat a pretentious dick and feel free to wrap it in the artisanal bread of your choice.
  12. I like cheddar cheese too. Everything from extra sharp to mild. American cheese still makes a better grilled cheese sandwich though. To me, the bread is key. If I use fancier bread, I usually opt for fancier cheese. If I'm using wonderbread, or sunbeam for a sandwich, I tend to use kraft singles American cheese.
  13. Bunch of damn cheese snobs similar to the beer snobs who are too good to knock back a Labatt Blue or a Budweiser if it's offered to them. The words Chet and Muffy come to mind. American cheese is awesome. It's by far the best cheese for making grilled cheese sandwiches and it's good with all kinds of other stuff. For example, if you're eating a regular baloney/bologna sandwich with white bread, then American cheese belongs on that sandwich, not some fancy smoked gouda or whatever. I imagine half the people in this thread already stopped reading the moment I mention baloney/bologna though.
  14. I just meant that your username used to be Brawndo. Having the Swedish translation for electrolytes definitely helped me realize who you were.
  15. Don't worry, I have it on good authority that there is a small group of 15 year olds that are kicking ass and taking names in Squirts or Pee Wee's or whatever the junior league is called for that age group. We'll all get sucked in by the excitement of the next group of phenoms coming down the pike. At least until we lose the lottery and we end up with the pick immediately behind whatever the cutoff is that year for elite talent. But we'll all convince ourselves that the kid we got is the next Casey Mittelstadt though so it will be fine.
  16. I just looked it up and Vegas paid 500 million. I expect the expansion draft will be even friendler to them. They probably won't get 2 players from every team or anything like that but maybe teams will have to expose more players. I looked it up beore I saw your post but thanks. So what can we bribe them with to take Okposo or Bogosian? Or is this thing still years away?
  17. How much was the Vegas fee? I was thinking 500 million but I can't remember. If Seattle is paying more they are going to expect more as they should.
  18. Be careful about jinxing yourself on that one. I've known 2 couples that "lived in sin" for 5-10 years each with absolutely no issues. Both couples eventually got married and both couples started the process for divorce within the first year of getting married (in North Carolina you have to be separated for 1 year before you can actually go to court to get divorced). I'm not sure what changed other than the marriage certificate but something had to have.
  19. It's mostly wishful thinking on my end. He won't make $5 million regardless though, that's just his cap hit. He makes $3 million total next year if he plays all year. Or he can make $1 million to hang around until July 1st then retire afterwards. Personally I'd never walk away from $2 million but I've also never made tens of millions of dollars in my career like he has. Lots of pro athletes retire before their contracts expire though so it's not like him doing it would be unprecedented. And while the odds may be slim they've got to be infinitely higher than some NHL team actually trading for him.
  20. No worries, man. I learned that from reading this board so I figured I should pass it along. I still think our best chance to get out from under Moulson's contract will be for him to retire after he gets his $1 million signing bonus on July 1, 2018. At that point he's only leaving $2 million of his $25 million contract on the table and it will save him a full year of riding busses and crappy charter flights in the AHL.
  21. There are no re-entry waivers anymore. That ended with the current CBA. Waiver eligible players have to pass through waivers on their way down but once they clear there are no waivers on the way back up.
  22. He's certainly paid to be one though. Murray really screwed us with the Moulson contract. We can only hope Okposo's doesn't end up even worse (1 year longer for $1 million more per year of cap hit but at least he was only 28 when it started where Moulson was already 31). That will completely depend on how he plays for the remainder of his contract though.
  23. I'm guessing it's Brawndo?
  24. I like this one better than fyllbult or fyllerist so I'll go with it.
  25. I think you mean bet against the Sabres, don't you? If you're strapped for cash and actually bet on the Sabres (to win) you might be setting yourself up for some broken fingers and busted kneecaps from Vinny the Loan Shark/Bookie. Those guys want their money.
