Considering that this year he's a nearly a PPG player (0.91) where his career average is 0.62 (331 points over 530 games played) I say math isn't your strong suit then.

Putting too much stock in the most recent information can be a recipe for disaster though. How many players have their best years statistically during their contract seasons only to fall off the map after they get the big bucks. In a sprint, I take Kane in a heartbeat. In a marathon though, I'd go with O'Reilly (and this is coming from someone who wants to re-sign Kane after we trade him before the deadline).
-
O'Reilly is the better player and has been for many years. This year Kane is the better player but I wouldn't feel comfortable betting on that to continue in future years, even though it's possible.

1. Sabres - check 2. Bills - check, although they were already a tire fire 3. Bandits - check 4. Beauts - you're next

I'm glad the fact that they suck at their jobs hasn't dampened their mood. I don't spend a single dime on this team and they piss me off on a regular basis. I can't even imagine being a season ticket holder right now.
-
Well, the gubment kicked the can down the road another few weeks so it looks like I'll get paid next Friday. I'm glad they found the time for both sides to temporarily stop their pissing contest long enough to agree that not paying millions of people over the holidays would have been pad PR.

John Dunsworth then William H Macy would probably be the next 2 on the waiting list. I did for the hell of it. If I can't count the best band ever as a single unit, then John Dunsworth can take their place. For the record they don't need to chisel the entire band into the mountain. A simple iron eagle with the Slayer pentagram or simply carving ######in' Slayer! into the mountain will suffice.

Bruce Campbell, Slayer, Billy Bob Thornton, John Lithgow

Well, the Beauts are gonna be cursed now. Time for them to start tanking. Will Russ Brandon be their new President as well?
-
Interesting. Were you debating on selling him to a Chinese sweat shop or were you going to sell him off to be a child soldier in Uganda? Both solid options and good scare tactics to get kids to eat their vegetables as well.

Amen. I've been living in fear these past 8 years and now finally feel free to say Merry Christmas to everyone I meet. The ones who respond with happy holidays get a bad review on yelp because I consider it a micro aggression.

I wouldn't pin my hopes to it. Sign and trades don't seem to happen in the NHL very often. The main interest in Kane is going to come from contending teams that think acquiring Kane will put them over the top in a Cup run and those teams probably don't have the cap space to sign him long term. If they acquire him and he meshes well they may try to move some other guys out to free up the cap space to keep him but by that point the trade is done and over with.
-
I don't think Kane has more value than O'Reilly, despite his recent struggles. Kane is a winger and a pending UFA where O'Reilly is a center and is locked up for 5 additional years with 4 of them having his actual cash paid $1.5 million less than his cap hit. Plus the 5 extra years only takes him to age 32 so they don't have to worry about paying him when he hits Moulson's age and needs a walker to help him skate. Big time. Kane is a pending UFA so immediately half the teams in the league have no use for him.
-
I agree. I've had Sprint for years and their service/signal is such a crap shoot once you're outside of the city limits of whatever town you're in. Hulu with no commercials is much better than the limited commercials. That extra $4 to get commercial free is completely worth it.

Yep. He went from hero worship to sworn enemy in no time flat. In a few years future ex GM Jason Botterill will suffer the same fate. I'd be willing to bet his biggest supporters will ultimately be his biggest and loudest critics too. For the record, I still like Murray and his no-bs salty dog demeanor. He didn't get the job done, but given the position he came into, the deck was stacked against him given the state of the team when he took over and the length of time he was steering the ship.

What's disgraceful is shipping a better QB out of town because they paid through the nose for a guy who looked the part in Rob Johnson, so you can go ahead and shove that disgraceful nonsense right up your ass. The Bills organization isn't entitled to whatever concept of blind loyalty you seem to think they deserve. I'm perfectly fine with the Bills replacing Taylor if they can find an upgrade, but they better make sure the replacement is an actual upgrade before the send him out of town. He may not be a world beater, but he's still the best QB this pathetic franchise has fielded in 2 decades and half the fan base wants to run him out of town before they even figure out who his replacement should be, let along figuring out if the replacement will be any better.

Hitting the egg nog a little early today I see. It's not even noon where you're at. I'm impressed. -
I've been on a one man boycott of Bills and Sabres gear for several years now but when I did still buy stuff for myself and family members I usually went to either fansedge or fanatics. They sell the same official gear but usually for cheaper and their promo codes generally work for the majority of their products. Feel free to check them out, or wait until December 26th and I bet a bunch of their stuff will be on clearance.

If they run him out of town I think I might be done with the Bills for good. The last time I swore off the Bills was when they sent Flutie and Christie packing for San Diego. I rooted for Buffalo to suck because of the spite I held for the decision makers who chose to go with Rob Johnson over Flutie. They sucked me back in when they picked up Bledsoe after going 1-15 or whatever it was but the playoff drought has remained. In a perfect world this is the correct approach. Bring in the rookie and let him compete for the starting job. It'll likely take 2-3 years for the rookie to surpass Taylor (assuming they drafted a good one) and by the time he earns the starting job he should be good enough to make/keep the team competitive. It won't happen that way though. I have zero faith in this organization.
-
He's the best QB we've had in almost 20 years. It's fine though. He'll get run out of town to save cap space and appease all the fans who clamor for a new QB every few years. The FNG will look like garbage when the line can't block for him and we can start the cycle over again.
-
Taylor is already signed to a multi-year contract. If they tried to do something so foolish as to cut him in order to re-sign him to a 1 year deal I bet a half dozen teams would offer him something better. We already have a good QB in Taylor. If our pick comes up at the draft and there's a potentially great QB on the board, I'm fine with drafting that guy and letting him compete against Taylor. I'm not ok with blowing our stockpile of draft picks to reach for some guy and showing Taylor the door so the FNG guy has no competition to start.
-
Of course it was a stupid decision. Half the board was perfectly fine with it too. Bills fans have some weird fetish with backup QB's. It's a constant infatuation with the next man up in the pecking order. It's fine to see what the next guy has, but they should have waited until Taylor was injured or they were eliminated from the playoffs before screwing around with the most important position on the field. Tyrod Taylor is not a great QB but he is a good one. He's also the best QB we've had since Flutie and people want to run him out of town because he's not 6'4" and he's not Joe Montana. Even now people are infatuated with the next crop of college QB's when it would help the team more to beef up the lines and improve the players around Taylor. Mob mentality will rule out in the end though because Russ Brandon has his finger on the pulse of the fan base. The Bills will jettison Taylor and spend the season wondering why the new rookie struggles as the line gives up constant pressure and other teams run all over us while Taylor goes elsewhere. Rinse and repeat in 2/3 more seasons as we scapegoat the next guy and fantasize about the next crop of QB's in 2020 or 2021.

When will Jack have a breakout game this season?
Drunkard replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Definitely. Although I'd argue he's lucky he signed before the season. I think he'd be getting closer to $8 million if we had waited. On the plus side we should be able to extend Reinhart for peanuts. Nylander will likely be dirt cheap too, although he still has another year to get his head on straight. -

62 points is good, but not $10 million per year good, and unfair or not, that's how he's going to be judged now. This team is riddled with players who under produce for how much they are paid (with the exception of Kane and a few others). Eichel should probably be making what O'Reilly makes ($7.5 million per season) O'Reilly should probably be making what Okposo makes ($6 million per season) Okposo should probably be making what Moulson makes ($5 million per season) -

You're gonna have to pay us more than that.
