  1. He's young and cheap with some speed. They probably think he's not being utilized correctly here so they are looking to buy low and turn him into a better player. That's just my guess though.
  2. I feel the same way, whether it's charities or pumping the wheels of the Armed Forces. I'm skeptical of anyone flouting their patriotism or touting their good deeds. I imagine it's a balance between raising awareness and pushing an agenda. The relatively small amount of money that goes to Breast Cancer research/treatment/etc. for each of those pink jersey's the NFL sells is a perfect example.
  3. I'll willing to see how they play tonight. If they come out dragging their through the dirt, I'll suspect it was overkill (especially coming off an OT win). If they manage to put in consistent effort all game then maybe they needed a good kick in the ass and I'll hope that Housley schedules more practices the same way.
  4. I heard he hates to lose, but I guess playing for the Sabres has gotten him used to it.
  5. So what's the rule now? Only positive posting because this is the PR thread? Or is it just because the latest video is about a Make a Wish kid? If the next video is about Jake McCabe going ice fishing with his uncle or something random like that is the negativity allowed back in? Or are you going to rule it on a case by case basis?
  6. I meant you took my joke as micro aggressive, because apparently you want this team sponsored PR thread to be some safe space where absolutely no negativity is allowed. Not going to happen and because you're being such a dick about it, I'll continue to post here and just hope that it irritates you.
  7. I made a joke based on the ball washing the video was getting (even though I hadn't seen it) and you threw a hissy fit and tried to tell me where and what I can post with your micro-aggression nonsense. I'm not miserable at all. I don't let how ###### the Bills or Sabres are affect my outlook on life. If you happen to let it, that's on you.
  8. Sweet. So you can all get off my case and/or eat my butt (your choice) since I donated $17 to Andy Dalton's charity of sick/poor/whatever people.
  9. I still haven't watched it. Good for Jack on giving some dying kid his wish though. I hope he turns the corner and recovers. Doing something good doesn't excuse the bad things though. If that's the case every liberal needs to shut up about Trump because he's done some charity in his time. Every conservative needs to shut up about Hillary because she's done some charity as well.
  10. Or maybe they're just regular good but become extremely good with the help of the zebras. You can consider it defeatist, but Buffalo is far from alone in their concerns. Even other winning franchises (such as Pittsburgh) have gone on the record complaining about the Patriots* cheating in various ways and the way the refs just seem to hand them questionable call after questionable call. Oh, and for the record even their punishment wasn't on the up and up. When deflate gate happened they should have suspended Brady immediately which would have cost him a chance to play in the playoffs that year. Instead, he got a month off to start the next season instead.
  11. You could be Goodell's press secretary. It's obvious to almost everyone (even non football watchers) that watches for more than 5 minutes that judgement calls and penalties favor the Patriots* the majority of the time.
  12. Sign me up for the relentless forecheck. I've never understood the one man forecheck they've seemed so prone to default into over the years. One pass and they're already passed the forecheck. If you aren't going to use multiple forecheckers you might as well clog the neutral zone and play the Jersey trap nonsense.
  13. I haven't seen it yet either. I was just commenting on the apparent consensus of the room. I was at work when I made the post so videos are blocked for me anyway, plus I don't have Facebook so I would have had to find it on their website and I just don't think I'm ready to devote that much energy into the Russ Brandon pr machine, even though it took longer to type this post than it would have been to pull it up and watch it. I may get around to it eventually though.
  14. I'll post wherever I please, chief.
  15. It appears the latest round of propaganda has been effective. Russ is probably reading this thread doing his Montgomery Burns impression.
  16. I just mean I'd do max retention in general to trade him, not necessarily in conjunction with swapping cap dumps with San Jose. Definitely wishful thinking. I can't remember who is the parent club of his AHL team (either Anaheim or the Kings I think) but I doubt he's doing well enough that they'd gamble on taking his contract.
  17. I hope this year's Super Bowl ratings are the lowest in recorded history. Maybe the league will instruct the refs to call fair games next season. On a side note, I definitely miss the replacement refs. They screwed the pooch on plenty of calls, but it felt like everyone got screwed equally and there was less of the MFT's nonsense.
  18. I'd retain the max 50% on Moulson. Whatever it takes without extending his cap hit beyond next season.
  19. My cola pay bump just showed up in our HR software. 1.67% which at my piddly salary equates to about 27 cents per hour. So much winning!
  20. I see that as good news. As bad as this team is we don't want to be stuck with most of them anyway.
  21. The only thing missing from this post is Oprah silently nodding.
  22. I know you're joking but I'd actually like to see it happen for a few games. Give him a few games on Eichel's wing and see if he sinks or swims at the deep end of the pool. This season is lost anyway. Might as well roll the dice. If Eichel can't get him going move him down to the 3rd line with Reinhart and see what happens. Just make sure to send him back early enough that his contract slides again.
  23. I was just kidding, man. I know you and nfreeman are about as staunchly anti tank as they come, among a few others. It's just kind of funny that "promoting" Nylander to the struggling Sabres would probably be benficial to Rochester by giving someone else a shot to produce in his spot for them better than he has. His assist in helping the parent club tanking is really secondary.
  24. Sounds like someone is coming around to the idea of tanking.
