Prediction time: Will Lehner be traded at the deadline?
Drunkard replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
He's an RFA so there is still team control to work out a longer deal assuming whomever we trade him to would like to keep him. -
Ankle aids is the worst.

They damn well better expect to make the playoffs next season. The waiting list for STHs has evaporated and it's time to see what these guys are made of. If they come out of the gate stinking up the joint again next season than Housley's seat will start to get warmer and warmer with each passing loss. Bad news for next season - Kane will likely be gone. 1 year still remaining on the deals for Moulson and Pominville. Bogosian will still have another season after this one. Eichel will have a $10 million cap hit. The good news - Gorges off the books. Available prospects from an improved Rochester team including Guhle, Ullmark, and possibly CJ Smith. Likely top 5 pick from the 2018 draft who will likely be able to contribute right away (Svechnikov, Tkachuk, Zadina, or maybe even Dahlin but not likely). The best news - Lord and Savior Casey Mittelstadt may grace us all with his presence to rescue this struggling franchise from the doldrums of the NHL standings basement. There's still a lot of unknowns at this point. Depending on what we get for Kane and whether Mittelstadt decides to stay in school another year, along with where we end up in the draft could have a big impact on how the lines look next season.

These were my votes too. -
Time for Reinhart to get another shot at center with better wingers. Maybe his new found confidence will allow him to step up this time around.
-
Oh ok. So, was it actually 4? I guess that's twice as good as horrible. Maybe Darcy gets moved up to just really bad now.
-
Dilly Dilly!
-
Only 2? That's surprising. Especially when you consider that one of the two was Zemgus Girgensons who only got in because half the population of Latvia was flooding the ballot box.
-
You'll have to wait for Lord and Savior Casey Mittelstadt (PBUH) to show up next season. He'll score 100 points even dragging around Pominville's corpse and another bum like Jordan Nolan or whomever (take your pick with this bunch).

With the Rangers announcing they are going to rebuild Zuccarello should be available and I hope GMJB is looking into him to see the price. They definitely won't want Kane since he is a pending UFA but we should be able to make a decent offer with picks or prospects. The good thing is he still has one year left on his contract so if the price is right and we could pick him up for relatively cheap, we only have to invest one year on him. If he works out well with the team we can try to extend him and if he doesn't pan out we can always move him at next year's trade deadline to recoup some of what we gave up for him. Obviously I wouldn't give up a first for the guy, but I wonder if they'd accept an offer of something like a 2nd and one of either Baptiste or Bailey or something along those lines. Then if it doesn't work out we should at least be able to recoup that 2nd round pick at next year's deadline.

Mittelstadt will smite all enemies. Craig Button, you just made the list buddy.
-
I would have traded him in early January to whomever offered me the best prospect. But that was before he took his foot off the gas and I was worried he was going to be injured at the deadline.

I think the rule is $1,000. If you owe less than that and can pay by April 15th, you're good. If you owe more than $1000 you're generally required to make quarterly estimated payments the following year. At least that's how it worked the last time I was self employed.

What Should The Sabres Goals Be For The Rest of The Season?
Drunkard replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
We're close to being officially eliminated from the playoffs now as well (even though it was really over in December I'd say). We currently have 38 points and even if we won every single game remaining, we'd max out at 96 points. In another game or two our max points will fall below the number typically required to sneak into the 8th seed. -
I've been on the re-sign Kane in July train, but I honestly doubt GMJB is going to be willing to drop $50 million on a new contract for Kane. Only 5 months until we know either way though.

Looks like the new withholding rates are now in use at my company. Those "middle class tax cuts" are going to bump my paycheck up by $29 every 2 weeks. So much winning. Don't get me wrong, I'll take it, but something tells me my tax refund next year will just get smaller by close to the same $750 amount that my withholds are dropping by. We'll see.

I wonder how the list evaporated so quickly (besides the current state of the team). Did they start calling people on the list and get told "pass"? I swear I remember hearing the waiting list was over 10,000 not too long ago.

Nice! It will be interesting to see what changes will be made now that they've lost their safety net for putting a bad product on the ice. Now losing STHs will actually carry the risk of lost revenue. I'll go ahead and make the bold prediction that there will be no price increases next season or they'll be increased the absolute bare minimum to maintain whatever parameters exist to qualify for small market revenue sharing.

A dynasty that has been caught cheating enough that they should be nearly out of fingers on one hand (just from what has been made public). A team that also gets lesser punishments and has gotten the benefit of the doubt in investigations. Tom Brady changes phones right before he has to turn it in for an investigation. No problem, Mr. GOAT! Bill Belichick gets praised his for methodical ability to control all team matters, but he has absolutely no knowledge of anything to do with taping practices, deflating footballs, or messing with the other team's audio equipment. I believe that, Mr. Hooded GOAT. I know the guy throwing that last accusation is a well respected coach who has won a few Super Bowls of his own, but we'll sweep it under the rug for you guys. It all stinks to high hell and the league has a vested interest in down playing it rather than admit that the past 2 decades of results are largely tainted. Admitting the extent of their advantages and direct involvement would hurt revenue after all.
-
The Ertz touchdown wasn't even questionable. The guy took 3 steps after he secured the ball and then he dove. As for the rest, just look at the flags that were thrown. New England had one penalty for 5 yards and I think Philly had like 6 called against them. There were more than a few times the Massholes defenders got there early to break up a pass where I'd bet my bottom dollar that it would have been a flag if the roles had been reversed.

We can only hope that someday his noodlyness will one day enjoy the same protections that other faiths enjoy. Cult + time = religion, so maybe it'll happen eventually.

See that only grinds me in the way that people thank God for the good, but (outside of Stevie Johnson that one time) nobody blames him when they lose. All the credit and none of the blame. They sure seem to set the expectations bar pretty low for a supposedly omnipotent being. I have religious co-workers and I don't feel the need to argue with them. I work for the government though, so I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with higher ups who are allowed to push religious fundraisers or even secular ones for school or other crap that isn't work related. When I worked in the private sector though (especially for smaller businesses) I saw stuff like that all the time and it bothered me. Nothing like a guy earning 3 or 4 times what his underlings make shaking them down for money so his kids's private school can raise money for uniforms, sports equipment, or some Jesus play. I've been pressured to buy more overpriced fundraiser donuts from Krispy Kreme than I can even count. That's abuse of power, no matter what the "charity" is, but throw the cloak of religion over it and they somehow get a pass.
-
I watched the game, but none of the hoopla afterwards so I didn't see it. If whatever guy wants to thank his imaginary friend for helping him win, I don't care, I'm just happy the Massholes lost. As I've said before, I'd root for ISIS to defeat Boston. If Massholeland was was destroyed by a volcano and every single one of them died a painful death with their skin on fire, I'd sleep well, while still thinkig they got off too easy. I personally don't like religion, but I'm fine with people being religious. I really just don't like it in the work place or in government. When people in authority use their power to push a faith based agenda I feel the need to push back and jab at it.

I hope so. I was excited about both of them when we drafted them but that excitement has waned the past few seasons. I hope they both become permanent fixtures with the big club next season even if it is strictly for 4th line duty.
-
They're both approaching 5 years post draft as forwards. I'd say if they don't make it by next season then I'd be worried that neither of them will be more than 4th line plugs or injury call ups.
