This. I should also add that he will also have a +/- of 139. He'll contribute on every single goal we score while he's on the ice and the opposing team will never score while he's on the ice.

Mittelstadt Signed ELC with Sabres reports directly to Buffalo
Drunkard replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, I'm not a local and when the team started tanking I ditched center ice and stopped buying merchandise. The amount of frustration I felt towards this team dissipated significantly once I stopped giving them my money. I may get NHL.tv next season though. You can buy the games for a single team for around 120 I believe. It will depend on whether this last 6 games can show me if they have the potential to turn the corner next season. We'll see how they look down this final stretch and more importantly, I'll use every bit of the free preview next season before I decide. -

That's hilarious. I particularly like that Chad Johnson's picture is the former Cincinnati WR as well. -
You'd think that would put him in a better mood then.

I love how Nylander is simultaneously a bum who has done nothing but disappoint, yet he's worth some mythical top pairing defenseman.

Maybe I can consider it a charitable donation. The church of Casey Mittelstadt (pbuh) has done more for me than any other church ever has. Therefore paying to see him play should be tax deductible. -

I'm not a season ticket holder, but I just spent money on this team for the first time since before Reinhart was drafted. The single team price for NHL.tv was down to $11.99 since there are so few games left so I paid a whopping $12.83 with tax to watch our new Lord and Savior's first 6 games as a professional hockey player. It should be worth $2.14 per game to witness history. If Mittelstadt doesn't score an Ovechtrick on Thursday though, I will be writing a sternly worded email to Gary Bettman in order to demand a refund. -
Forwards Next Year - Status Quo or Major Overhaul?
Drunkard replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I'd be on board with a flushing of the fringe veterans. Bailey and Baptiste should no longer be waiver exempt so if they take the place of guys like Josefson and Nolan that's fine by me. Keep Rodriguez up and hope Nylander and CJ Smith can replace Pouliot/Pominville. Then guys like Pu and Asplund can backfill the empty slots in Rochester. We may need a few more players though because I'd like to find replacements for Girgensons and Larsson too even though they are both relatively cheap. -
MVP material right here. He and Ryan Vinz should share the title.

He hasn't missed a single game due to injury unlike our "franchise player" and his aids ridden ankle.

He should be able to do it easily. Even getting handcuffed with bums like Larsson and Pominville's corpse on his line. They should recall Moulson from the minor's and staple him to Lord Casey's hip just to make it somewhat of a challenge. -
No desire to see Mittelstadt reunited with Tkachuk?

There are no video stores in my area either and it's no where near affluent. Our last blockbuster closed several years ago. They were replaced by redbox kiosks and Netflix. Even if you don't have the internet speeds to stream the dvd portion of Netflix offers a truly massive library. I've been a customer since around 2006 up until late last year when I cancelled the dvd portion of my account. In the 12 years I had their dvd service there were probably less than 10 movies I tried to get that were unavailable.

He can play in the World Championships after the Sabres season ends though. -

Lord Casey doesn't need to do a pull up. If he wants his chin over the bar he can cause the earth to rise under his feet to propel his chin there. -

Damn straight. Then he can light them on fire and send them straight to hell for having the gall to question his deity credentials. Or he can forgive them for not knowing any better. It depends on whether he wants to be a just and loving God or the smite your enemies/fire and brimstone type of God. -

Pssshh.... I expect 30-40 points before the end of this season. He is a god after all. -
I'd rather try to trade up from 4 to 2 or 3 to get Svechnikov or Zadina than trade down. If we can't do that I'd prefer to stay at #4 and take whomever is highest on their board (probably Tkachuk).

I work 0800-1630 with a 30 minute lunch off the clock. No nights, weekends, or overtime ever.

It's either that or just lucky genetics. I used to do push ups and got sick of doing them so I bought a pull up bar on amazon like the one I posted the picture of. I usually do regular pull ups (the grips that are closest together) but sometimes I switch it up and either do the ones that are farther apart or the ones that stick out just to switch it up from time to time.

There's definitely some truth to this. It takes much more effort for women to stay in shape from what I've been told. I do still have somewhat of a beer gut (who needs a 6 pack when you can have a keg) but other than that I'm in pretty decent shape despite never working out and no longer being young (almost 37 now). I have a pull up bar that I put up over one of the doors in our house and almost every day after work (so probably 4 times a week) I bust out a half dozen of them to keep the man boobs away. Other than that I do little to no exercise. My face may or may not be a little on the chubby side as well, but I can't tell because I haven't shaved my face in over a year and a half so I'm sporting a Brett Burns style beard. I guess there's a chance I could shave it off and find out I have multiple chins, but I don't plan on shaving anytime soon so it will remain a mystery.

Once we find out where we're drafting and what Mittelstadt does we should be able to hash out a quality top 6 between Eichel, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Mittelstadt, Okposo, and whomever we draft with our first rounder. They could base the pairing on relative speed by putting the faster guys together (Eichel, Mittelstadt, and the first rounder on one line with O'Reilly, Reinhart, and Okposo on the other) or they could put mix it up and put fast guys on both lines to try to improve the pace and see how it goes.

Whose idea was the tank and whose decision was it?
Drunkard replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
No sweat. It's all just speculation but based on what little has been made public, I think there's a good chance it went down in similar fashion to what I put down. I hope they don't dismantle the current rebuild because I think this team really could improve if a few things go our way. This current roster with a couple of quality upgrades (Mittelstadt and a top 4 pick) plus a few guys from Rochester replacing some of the dead wood on the roster and a year of experience under the Housley/Taylor system under their belts could show marked improvement and if they actually manage to come out of the gate hot for a change next season, they could definitely contend for a playoff spot even after the calendar changes to 2019. Add in a bonus like Nylander actually panning out and it could be even better. Another crappy start out of the gate though, and there's a chance it will be business as usual again and looking at the standings and mock drafts before there's even snow on the ground. -
I agree with this in theory, but I don't like the idea of trading our dollar bill for a bunch of pocket change that we hope will add up to more than a dollar. That's fine when a guy's contract is expiring or the person doesn't fit with your future plans, but after waiting almost 10 years to replace 48 and 23, I'd rather not go back to the days where we don't have quality centers. Eichel is young, locked up for the foreseeable future, and he has the speed and talent to play in mostly whatever system would be asked of him. That being said, I'd listen to any offers, just in case a team is willing to severely overpay.

Whose idea was the tank and whose decision was it?
Drunkard replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
First off, not everyone who was pro-tank is hiding from it and some of us are still rooting for losses now. I think we all want the team to get better but once you reach a point in the season where the playoffs are essentially out of reach there is more benefit to finishing as poorly as we started rather than winning meaningless games at the end with no playoff implications for the team. As for how it all went down, it's impossible for us to know, but in the spirit of the thread, I'll take a guess that it went something like this. Note that what follows is just my opinion and I'm not going to pepper the rest of this post with a bunch of I thinks, it's possible, and IMO type stuff. It's pure speculation, but I'm just going to type it out. Terry wanted to know why we got spanked by Philly in the playoffs and Darcy responded with lack of overall talent, particularly at the center position. Terry and his money bags comes in and says we can upgrade the talent, no problem. Take this pile of money and get me Christian Ehrhoff and some centers. There were no quality centers available except Brad Richards and he snubbed Buffalo in favor of the glitz and glamour of NYC. Terry says get me someone and they decide to throw a truck half full of money at Ville Leino because he played some center as a 14 year old back in the land of Vikings. Fast forward a bit and to no real surprise we're still stuck in the land of mediocrity. Terry calls Darcy into his office and asks him what gives? Darcy said our biggest issue is a lack of quality centers. Terry tells him to get some quality centers and Darcy says it's not that simple. Teams usually don't trade them away and the few times a good center becomes available in free agency they are highly sought after so they tend to pick better teams, places, or situations like Richards did. Terry says ok, so how are we going to fix this? Darcy says we'll have to draft them, but the best center prospects get snatched up early in the draft so the only way to secure them is to draft high. Pegula signs off on the tank and Darcy holds the suffering conference.
