  1. Are they sending him to Cincinnati?
  2. You should let them kill their own rats then. A few weeks of that will show them just how valuable you are to the team.
  3. Favorites: Rob Ray followed by Patrick Kaleta and then probably either Danny Briere or Ryan Miller. Hasek would be probably be ahead of Briere and Miller if not for the way he left.
  4. You gotta watch out for those hot tub spiders. One of the original Slayer guitarists, Jeff Hanneman, got bit by a poisonous spider when he was in his hot tub and he ended up developing some flesh eating virus that destroyed his entire arm and ending up killing him in a round about way since he was unable to keep playing so he drowned his sorrows in booze until his liver shut down. He died 5 years ago yesterday. RIP, Jeff.
  5. I think O'Reilly is probably more like Toews than Mittelstadt. Lord Casey's only comparable will be Wayne Gretzky. In 20 years Casey Mittelstadt (pbuh) will make the hockey world refer to Gretzky as "the Good one".
  6. Good deal. We should be keeping the younger and cheaper guys as depth while looking to move the guys who are older and/or more expensive.
  7. I didn't say that at all, and didn't infer it either. I'm not trying to imply that we should be happy with the status quo by any means. Okposo had a down year with a mixture of injury/health issues and sub par production for his contract and he is signed to a long term deal for more money than he's worth. Unless you want to pay a really steep price (like adding Mittelstadt or next year's 1st rounder with him in a package) no team is going to be interested in trading for him. It sucks but that's the way it goes. They can easily shed Gorges, Pouliot, Nolan, Josefson, and Chad Johnson with no effort at all (just don't resign them). The next guys on the list to ship off are Moulson and Pominville who will only have a year remaining and we should also be trying to rid ourselves of Bogosian and his 2 remaining years. If Okposo gets healthy and returns to form we'll have lucked out and if he doesn't he'll have one or two less years remaining on his contract making it easier/less expensive to move him in a year or two. Despite his regression and contract he's still the second most productive winger on this roster after Reinhart so there's bigger fish to fry at the moment but not even a tanking team is going to want him while he still has 5 years left on his contract.
  8. The Vegas owners paid a big premium for the set up they received ($500 million) and Seattle will be paying even more ($650 million). I think Pegula paid $189 million for the Sabres. I don't blame the league one bit for setting it up so that a brand new franchise is competitive immediately given the amount of money they soaked them for. Splitting it up 30 ways each team was awarded over $16 million and only had to lose a single player. Sure the player was the choice of Vegas, but they paid for the privilege and every team got to exclude at least 10 players (7F-3D-1G or 8F/D-1G, plus all of their prospects and players with less than 2 years experience). They each cash in over $21 million from Seattle for just one player from each teams (sans Vegas) as well.
  9. I agree. The year or two stems from me not remembering when Seattle actually joins the league and when they'll do their expansion draft. If Okposo doesn't rebound this year he probably won't do any better the following year. We can bribe Seattle to take him though with either a decent draft pick, a prospect, or some combination.
  10. Give him another year or two to see if he rebounds. If he doesn't we can always bribe Seattle to take him off our hands.
  11. They already stated that Seattle will have the same expansion draft rules as Vegas. The fact that they are paying all the non-Vegas owners $650 million pretty much seals it.
  12. Nothing, I was just making a joke. A little part Jim Jones and a little part exorcist. As far as I know Catholics are the only sect that perform exorcisms so I kind of melded the two. As a bonus McCarron looks like the front man for a Christian rock band so he would need to perform it I would think.
  13. Whatever the heck Zay Jones was drinking when he was rambling about God while naked in that hotel with his brother when he tried to jump through a window on whatever floor he was on. Someone posted a clip of it on this board a while back (not sure but it was in the last 6 months).
  14. I haven't seen it but I get most of my Bills news from this board. Not exactly a surprise though. Every player on the roster will be drinking the kool aid soon enough. Let's just hope they don't all react like Zay Jones did or McCarron will have to start boning up on his exorcism techniques instead of learning how to go through progressions.
  15. The series finale of Ash Vs Evil Dead (season 3) aired last night at 9 pm and it was fan######ingtastic. From the way it ended it looks like Season 4 (if those pig ###### at Lionsgate hadn't cancelled the show) was going to have Ash on his own (plus some totally gorgeous half robot babe) fighting deadites in the future in a sort of Mad Max/Apocalypse type setting. Ash may have officially retired from his greatest role, but I'm still holding out hope that somebody like Netflix buys the franchise rights and reboots the series while paying him enough money to entice him to come back. You're the man, Jefe. Please don't let this be the end of the Groovy one!
  16. He better not. I bought him a beer years ago at one of those Road Crew events in Raleigh and I made him promise me that he'd die in the Sabres broadcast booth if he turns out to just be some mere mortal. I think he's a highlander though, so we should be safe.
  17. Fair point. I was just listing who I thought the top 7 would be based on my own speculation at this time. In the interest of building actual depth I want McCabe, Pilut, Bogosian, Antipin, Beaulieu, Nelson, and anyone else they bring in all battling for spots. On a side note I'd still like to see them bring in another guy who is good enough to challenge for a top 4 spot. While I don't think anyone's spots are an absolute given the addition of Dahlin should give us a bonified/legitimate top 3 in Scandella, Dahlin, and Ristolainen. From there it should be much easier to fill out the remaining top 6 as well as determine who gets the 7 and 8 spots and who would be better served playing in Rochester to start the season and being brought up because of injuries or anyone in the top 7/8 struggling the pick up or properly run the Housley system.
  18. Sounds about right. Given his injury history I wouldn't slot him above the bottom pairing and thanks to winning the lottery we should no longer have to. I wouldn't buy anyone out, especially a guy like Bogosian who will likely spend more time on IR than on the ice. Pominville and Moulson are off the books after next season and Bogosian will be off the year after. If we can bribe Seattle to take Okposo in a couple years and manage to avoid any new bad contracts we should be in great shape with respect to the cap.
  19. I thought the aim was to get Bogosian out of the top 4. Even when Bogosian is on his game (whenever the last time that was) he doesn't deserve a spot over Ristolainen.
  20. He can duke it out with Antipin to see who takes Bogosian's spot once his inevitable injury happens. Since he probably speaks English better than Antipin, he'll have the inside track.
  21. Lord and Savior Casey Mittelstadt (pbuh).
  22. I'd give him a shot on the right side since that's his preference. That also pairs him with Scandella who is preferable as a partner over Ristolainen since he's more prone to mistakes than Scandella is as well. Scandella Dahlin McCabe Ristolainen Guhle Bogosian Antipin
  23. He once walked down the street with a ...... there were no survivors.
  24. A few of us loud mouth heathens were afraid of this. Seem like the Allen pick is even making some of the die hard wrestler fans nervous about this new process. Welcome to the corner of doubt and frustration, ladies and gents. Next stop is apathy. If it wasn't for reading this board I would have no clue what the Bills are up to.
