  1. I don't recall him playing on the left for us either, but that's probably because we had way more LHD than RHD (and still do to this day).
  2. Nice list, although I'd personally change a few rankings. #1 should be Mittelstadt because he's a mother in' God #2 should be Dahlin because he's a future stud but not a deity Nylander should be lower until he can at least impress at the AHL level. Other than that it seems pretty good.
  3. You should enlighten the rest of us then. You don't have to reveal where you heard it. I'm curious to find out.
  4. I'd rather not move either of those guys in a vacuum, but I would be willing to part with one of them in a package of lesser pieces for Faulk or another RHD who can upgrade Bogosian for our second pair RHD. I'd certainly rather move one of them than O'Reilly, or go into the season with Bogosian penciled into the top 4.
  5. Same here, but mostly because he's cheaper and he isn't guaranteed to miss half the season or more like Bogosian.
  6. Because right now Bogosian is the #2 RHD on our depth chart unless Dahlin ends up playing his off hand. Faulk would be on Carolina's 3rd pair at this point with a $4.8 million cap hit. Maybe we could send them back some combination of a cheaper LHD to replace Hanifin, a forward prospect they may like, or some draft picks. I don't usually make trade proposals but maybe something like McCabe or Beaulieu, a forward prospect like Baptiste, Bailey, Davidson, or Asplund, and a 2nd round draft pick. I don't really know what exactly they'd want but it's worth kicking tires on while we're possibly one Bogosian injury away from Casey Nelson starting on our second pair.
  7. With Carolina picking up a RHD and RHD prospect maybe we can pry Faulk out of Carolina for cheap.
  8. And the great Casey Nelson.
  9. Now they need to build up the right side. Feels like Ristolainen and then a buch of tumbleweeds.
  10. The only way we should even contemplate trading Ristolainen is if a better RHD is coming back in the trade. Maybe he looks overmatched at times because he plays 26+ minutes a night and he's usually the guy who gets put out there against the other team's best players.
  11. That's what I'm hoping for. I'd rather not trade any of Eichel, Dahlin, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Scandella, Ristolainen, or Mittelstadt (pbuh). I'd be open to move ancillary pieces but I'd rather keep the guys I listed and try to fill the other gaps in the roster with smaller moves.
  12. I'd rather keep O'Reilly than draft 3rd but if Botterill gets his asking price I suspect he drafts Tkachuk to pair with Mittelstadt on the second line. Same here.
  13. Scandella is our best LHD by far though. The rest of the LHD are a bunch of maybes and question marks except for Dahlin, who might not even play the left side. No chance I'd move Scandella for #10. I doubt the Oilers would be willing to do it either. Their left side is much stronger than their right side.
  14. I think you mean a one way deal where he's make the same amount of money whether he plays in the NHL or AHL. I'd be happy with that as well. Everyone on here who watches the Amerks seems to be impressed with him. If that's what it takes to sign him, do it.
  15. For staying at the same company and not changing jobs it's great. The only times I've ever gotten a bump in pay like that I had to either change positions or employers.
  16. Louis CK does a bit about this. People use terms like amazing to describe a damn cheeseburger these days so now when something truly amazing like Casey Mittelstadt (PBUH) is put before our very eyes there's not really any words to describe it since we already wasted the good descriptive words on lesser things.
  17. I'll see your Ron Rolston and raise you a LARRY QUINN!!!!!!!
  18. I thought it was getting maximum effort.
  19. I think you just don't like Trotz because he reminds you of your Dad, Charlie.
  20. Don't worry. They should be ready to compete when Dahlin and Mittelstadt are in their primes. Of course then we'll need to ship out Reinhart because he'll be creeping up on 30.
  21. Seems to round for my tastes. I would be more apt to believe him if he was 152.4% sure.
  22. This. I'd also add that Karlsson will probably want more than $9 or $10 million. He was underpaid in Ottawa (not as badly as Tavares has been on Long Island but still underpaid). I doubt he's going to want to low ball himself again, plus the cap has also gone up significantly since 2011 or whenever he signed his last deal. I remember articles coming out saying he wants to be paid what he's worth. He's not going to give anyone a break with his next deal since it's likely his last one. $10 million is likely his absolute floor. I'd rather he go elsewhere.
  23. The difference is O'Reilly signed his 7 year deal 3 years ago as a 24/25 year old and now there's only 5 years remaining. If O'Reilly was a 28 year old UFA, I wouldn't want to give him a 7 or 8 year deal either.
  24. I'd rather not. He's either a rental or we'll be forced to give an $80+ million contract to a guy who will be 29 when it kicks in. I'd rather spend that cap space on younger guys like Dahlin and Mittelstadt.
