  1. I'd include Regehr in that list as well. He may have taken a step back stats wise this season but that's because Ruff had him doing all the heavy lifting by playing him against the opponents best players and putting him in the toughest situations. He may not have the offensive upside that guys like Myers, Ehrhoff, Sekera, and Leopold have, but when it comes to actual defending he's as reliable as we have.
  2. Oh yeah, man. We stayed up in WNY an extra day to do some stuff and enjoy the area, left yesterday afternoon and got back home around 3 am. Had a blast at the show despite missing Anthrax because we showed up late and for some reason I had it in my head that it started at 6:30 instead of 6:00. The show was great though, although I didn't get in the pit because I was still a little sore from letting my drunkenness get the best of me and getting in the pit during Slayer's set in DC. My girlfriend even joined in and did some moshing and some crowd surfing at the DC show as well so I can't complain about either show whatsoever. Good times. It was definitely a drunken good time.
  3. Always nice to have connections. Enjoy the show, and if you get to meet Slipknot in person, tell'em their 3rd album was gayer than 8 guys blowing 9 guys.
  4. Yeah, I lost all respect for Slipknot after their turd of a 3rd albumn but I'm hoping they'll stick to their hard stuff given the lineup they'll be playing with.
  5. Seems like we have a few blue chip forward prospects and a glut of NHL calibre d-men who will find themselves in Rochester unless Darcy makes some deals. Maybe the Amerks can find their way to a good record if we can win a ton of low scoring games given that our blue chip forwards won't be playing in Rochester outside of possibly Girgensons.
  6. Sweet. We got the lawn tickets because they are way cheaper, plus I just can't see the point in sitting down for a metal show, and I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to smoke where the covered seating in, even in Viriginia as I've caught some shows in the Norfolk and VA Beach areas where that was the case in the past. I was glad I held off on tickets initially too. Originally you could get a 4 pack of lawn tickets for about 32 dollars a head but the price for both shows dropped to $68 for a 4 pack so we got tickets for $17 a head.
  7. I'll be heading up to the DC area this Sunday to catch the Slayer, Anthrax, Motorhead, and Slipknot show before heading up to Buffalo to catch the same show that next Wednesday. I'm stoked.

There are still new updates to a war that ended 60 some odd years ago? Don't want to spoil it for you, but we won.
  9. I'll stick to my dirt cheap cornwater, Milwaukee's Best Ice and Pabst Blue Ribbon and you guys can keep the fancy stuff.
  10. Don't be foolish. Pegula has tons of money which means everyone desrves a statue. How can you deny all time greats like Tim Connolly, Derek Roy, Kotalik, Novotny, Janik, Jillson, and Rory Fitzpatrick? On a serious note though, the only guys I think deserve statues outside of the French Connection are Hasek, Rob Ray, and Possibly LaFontaine and Mogilny.
  11. A complimentary blumpkin?
  12. If Grigorenko makes the team, I definitely like the idea of him being paired with Ott and Pominville to cover for his defensive short comings. Despite Leino's struggles, he makes much more sense on Vanek's line than Tropp, so unless we are able to unload some defensemen for a scoring line winger, I like the idea of: Leino - Hodgson - Vanek Foligno - Ennis - Stafford Ott - Grigorenko - Pominville Gerbe - McCormick - Kaleta Scott, Tropp Sekera Myers Ehrhoff Sulzer Leopold Regehr Weber Miller Enroth
  13. It would be great to land a player like Doan, but I'd feel uncomfortable giving him any longer than a 2 year deal unless it was for a modest cap hit of under $5 million. You like that teeny bopper facebook type wannabe model pose? To each his own I guess.
  14. Ryan Callahan please. Or does it have to be realistic?
  15. Columbus would never make that trade straight up. Nash may only be marginally better than Vanek but he's still better and they're the same age. The only possibly way I could see that happening would be if they were afraid that Nash is locked up for huge money for the foreseeable future while Vanek is only locked in to big money for a few more seasons. There's still no way Columbus makes that deal though.
  16. Given the choice I'd rather trade for Ryan than Nash. Nash may be a better player but he's older, more expensive to trade for, and has a higher cap hit that will go beyond his prime. At this point, the only players on my no trade list would be Ennis, Hodgson, Foligno, Miller, and Myers along with our 2 first round picks from this year. Getting either of these guys would no doubt improve the team immediately, but I'd rather not lose any of our pivot men and I want to keep Foligno's grit around.
  17. Exactly. One is better than none and it's a step in the right direction. This team has been overloaded with undersized skill guys for so long that the situation isn't going to be fixed over night, especially given how we were on the complete opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to teams like Boston and Philly. We've finally started drafting players who are bigger than I am though (5'9" 170 or so) and we already have a few guys who can mix it up (McCormick, Kaleta, Regehr, Weber) along with a few heavyweights (Scott, Finley) we can put in when we anticipate a rough time with an opponent like Boston or Philly. In a few years guys like Armia, Grigorenko, and Girgensons will have replaced guys like Roy and Gerbe and while they aren't pugilists, they won't be as easy to push around given their larger statures.
  18. They don't have to fight him. If they want they can feel free to just stand there and get pummeled. I'm cool with giving him a spot on the 4th line whenever we play a team with a history of cheapshotting like Boston and Philly. The whole "everyone else will be tired because we can't roll 4 lines" argument is null and void as well because we're usually stuck dealing with the exact same problem when a guy like Pronger runs a guy like Ennis through the glass and knocks him retarded anyway.
  19. Screw that deal. Giving up Grigorenko and Ennis for a winger (albeit a damn good one) would put us right back into having a giant void down the center of the ice. I'd do it for Getzlaf but not for Ryan.
  20. There is a good chance I'll be attending this show in Buffalo and will likely catch it in DC the Sunday before as well. Slayer has been my favorite band since I was in middle school so I try to catch them whenever they tour the US. I also love Anthrax. I really liked Slipknot after their first 2 albums but after that turd of a 3rd albumn with the ballads on it I stopped buying their music. I would hope that they'd stay away from their ###### stuff given the lineup they'll be playing with though.
  21. That would rule because I'm sick of her character more than everyone else who is left.
  22. I agree, but I'd rather have real eye candy to stare at given the choice.
  23. I don't find her attractive at all and the fact that her character gets on my nerves constantly makes her even less attractive. I think Daryl nailed it perfectly when he called her Olive Oil. None of the broads on the show are movie star hot or really even tv show hot, although if push came to shove I'd rather ogle the chick Glenn is banging more than the rest of them. It's a shame Andrea's sister bit the dust because she was the best looking of the bunch.
  24. I agree with the part on Roy. I want Stafford to go, but with Roy being in a contract year, I'd prefer to hold on to him and unload him at next years deadline for a 1st rounder. I'd still be open to trading him before then, but we'd have to either get a better player in return (not likely) or get a solid center prospect in return. Roy and Hodgson as scoring line centers with Vanek, Pominville, Ennis, and another upgrade at wing makes for a solid top 6, plus good scoring potential on the 3rd line with Gerbe, Leino, and Adam/Gaustad/Free Agent Center or Trade pickup.
  25. Cool. Maybe he'll start producing and drive his value back up. Then if we're lucky Darcy will strike when the iron is hot this time.
