  1. I don't think Manuel is ready to start. He was known as a project QB prior to being drafted and the reason he started last season was because Kolb lost a fight with a mat then got his brain scrambled in preseason. When Manuel was in he never seemed to go through any progressions. He went to his first read and if it wasn't there he dumped it off to a running back. He needs time to watch from the bench. If we bench Orton we are pretty much packing it in for the season and wasting this awesome defense another year.
  2. The guy who plays/played Chris Rock on Everybody hates Chris also plays the patient who escaped with Beth.
  3. I got everyone except for Nick and Tim. Foligno and Schaller?
  4. I guess so but we all know Darcy was usually a price taker as opposed to someone who set the market and good teams heading towards the trade deadline are usually looking to load up on talent not ship players who can help now out the door so you are pretty much left with picks and greener prospects. Murray hasn't been here that long and he made several moves to bring in talent that can help sooner. There's not much else we can do now because of the cap considerations of most teams and once again teams at the deadline will be looking to add talent not subtract it. All that being said I imagine he'll continue to do that in the off season and the ###### show that has been the last couple of seasons will be done with. The bulk of this rebuild will be completed with the 2015 draft even if we don't land Eichel.
  5. I understand the feeling but from listening to many of the players like Vanek and Miller it was obvious that they didn't want to stay here. Maybe if we had kept Gaustad and Pominville Miller would've stayed but I think Vanek was ready to leave regardless.
  6. I guess we should've kept hoping that Vanek, Pominville, Miller, Gaustad, and a perpetual run at first round picks in the 8-20 range would have been enough to put us into cup contention. The team was going no where and a rebuild was necessary. While you can argue that we didn't have to tear it down as bare bones as we did, I don't think holding on to portions of our failed aging core would have made the last couple of seasons that much better.
  7. Not accounting for trades or free agents here's my guess: Moulson Eichel Hodgson Ennis Grigorenko Armia Foligno Girgensons Gionta Deslauriers McCormick Kaleta Extra: Larsson Gorges Myers Zadarov Ristolainen Weber Psysk Extra: McCabe Neuvirth Makarov Reinhart goes to the AHL to develop for next season.
  8. Did anyone catch the fan code for tonight's game? I was stuck watching the Edmonton feed so I didn't catch it.
  9. Trade him while his value is high!
  10. Pretty good fight. I think I want to keep Chris Stewart. Unless we can get a good prospect who projects to be a top 6 forward or a first round pick from a team that could flame out after the deadline and potentially be a lottery pick I'd like to see us resign him. This team is soft overall and he's one of the only non 4th liners on the team who is willing to drop the gloves. Hopefully Lemieux develops and we'll have a couple of guys in the top 6/9 who can score and fight.
  11. I don't think I do but for the most part I don't have too many problems. I've noticed it actually works better for me with Internet Explorer rather than chrome or firefox. I usually just find the game then open a feed in another tab, close out the 3 or 4 ads that sit on the screen and close the pop ups that come from closing the ads then maximize the screen. It usually plays pretty well but will occasionally freeze and make me have to reload the page and re - close the pop ups. The worst part is having to get off the couch to fix it because I use my girlfriend's laptop with the busted screen plugged into my tv but it gets the job done. *Edit* Holy ######, I just installed adblock for IE and it was much quicker getting to the feed. Thanks, man!
  12. Watching this ###### fest on first row sports and for some reason every feed is the Edmonton feed. Usually half the feeds are for one team and half for the other. Bad quality too but it still beats spending 160 bucks on center ice for what promises to be a terrible season.
  13. Good stuff, although it's still not a bad idea to hit up Rochester for a garbage plate. I've been to both locations but I thought the one in the crack alley part of town had the better plates though.
  14. As a non-Buffalonian who has made the pilgrimage up to WNY a handful of times I can give you some of the touristy type stuff that you should experience even if the locals know better. The biggest rule with food is avoid any national type chains and stick to either Mom and Pop places or local chains. For wings you have to go to both Anchor Bar since it's the original and you also have to go to Duffs. Most people say the wings are better at the Original Duff's location in Amherst but I prefer the one in Orchard park because the food seemed the same to me and the one in Orchard Park has tons of Bills and Sabres memorabilia on the wall, plenty of eye candy from the waitstaff, and a beat up but working Ice Chexx bubble hockey machine with Rick Jeannerett. I loved playing that damn thing so much after my first trip to Buffalo years ago that I bought the same model online and put it in my dining room here in NC. For Pizza I like Warehouse Pizza on Milestrip road. It's owned by Duffs I think but I absolutely loved the pizza and the bar/waitstaff/patrons made it a pretty good atmosphere. You've also got to go to a Wegman's grocery store and get one of their amazing subs. Get the biggest one they got and you can eat until your hearts content and still have some left over for a snack later on. Depending on the season you should also look for some sponge candy. I can't remember when it's big but I always hear about it when it's not in season and forget to get any when it is being sold. Still haven't tried it but one of these days I will. If you wind up extremely hammered at a bar or bowling alley you've got to find a way to get to Mighty Taco and binge on some of that. You'll be extremely unimpressed with it if you're sober but it's absolutely delicious when you're 12 deep into a case of yellow corn water ice brewed cheap beer or Labatt's or whatever you've been drinking. Ted Hot Dogs (there are a bunch of locations) and Louie's Texas Red Hots right near the Ralph are awesome and can be enjoyed drunk or sober. In Rochester you have to go to Nick Tahou's for a garbage plate and Dinosaur BBQ. Both awesome in their own right in completely different ways. When you go to the Falls don't be drunk and decide to hump the Indian statue in the park while declaring Manifest Destiny. They don't like it, even if it's absolutely hilarious in the drunken moment.
  15. I'll be ok with a 1 year tank when he's eligible but he has to change his name to Taro Tsujimoto.
  16. I think they were saying whatever they had to in order to get it passed, even though it hurt them in the end. A single payer system similar to Medicare for all would be great though and the insurance companies could still scramble to offer supplemental policies the way BC/BS, Banker's Life and Casualty, and most of the other companies already offer now. They could be bought over the exchange like Obamacare or be offered through employers and they'd be much cheaper since they are basically only looking to cover the 20% that the single payer doesn't. Businesses would still benefit and it would be even easier for people to move around in the job market and not have to worry about Cobra. As for agreeing on something, I imagine we agree on more than that. You previously mentioned not being very fond of the GOP's social platform so I would think we have plenty of common ground there as well. Honestly, I used to be very Libertarian in my views including the fiscally conservative part (Republican without Jesus I called it) but once I realized I was most likely never going to be wealthy and I was more likely to be one of the people getting pissed on rather than doing the pissing I've swung more towards the Democrat side of the spectrum.
  17. True but it also has Columbus left out when they should be in based on record. Personally, I'd put the Islanders and Blues in regardless just because we own their picks. It's your call either way but I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents. I think it would be funny to see a team like Philly or whoever bounce in and out of the league on a month to month basis depending on whether they have a good or bad stretch of games. Awesome thread either way though.
  18. If you're looking for suggestions I would just do the bottom 8 or so teams and update who qualifies the 1st of each month or so. This will make some teams move in and out of the league but should keep the most relevant teams in play when looking at the daily updates after games.
  19. If the Republicans offered a single payer health plan like Medicare for all, I'd be shocked but I'd vote in favor of them/it. Health care shouldn't be tied to your place of employment. It would be less costs on businesses and reduce the drag on hiring new workers when there are up swings in the economy.
  20. If you look at some of the links I posted up thread many of the early voting places in battleground states have the same problems with long lines.
  21. Just another way for Republicans to suppress the minority vote. If you can't do voter ID laws you ensure there aren't enough resources in heavily Democratic district for people to vote in a timely manner. Instead of putting more polling stations in urban areas so they cut their wait times lobby to put more in Bumfuct, Egypt so it's close enough for Cletus to drive there on his tractor instead of going to the other one 5 minutes further down the road.
  22. That's what I was trying to convey only in a much more succinct manner. They should try to split it up so there are roughly an equal number of voters per station.
  23. Sorry, I'm at work and was splitting focus so it came out all twisted. Basically I was postulating that heavily Democratic districts don't get nearly the same amount of "voting resources" that Republican districts get. IE) the number of polling stations, voting machines, and election volunteers are presumably much higher in red districts than blue ones leaving less resources for Urban/Minority districts. I'd like to see per capita numbers based on the population of each district. I imagine that some district in downtown Cleveland's average voting machine being 100 times busier than an average on in the upper class suburbs.
  24. I don't know anything about this site or how reliable the data is but they seem to have the same suspicions I do. Could be confirmation bias on my end or more examples of crookedness by the R's. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/10/minority-voters-election-long-lines-id
