  1. Am i the only one that thinks hodgson is great? the KID has been excellent, creating chance after chance. it is a joke if you think luke adam is even close to what this kid is. vanek and pommer do not make him good, he is good, and he is what allows vanek and pommer to be even better. he is a perfect fit on that line and he will only get better. how many nhl games has the kid played? give him a freakin break.
  2. i feel pretty okay about the loss. stafford played a great game..hitting people, backchecking hard and a few good setups. grigore looked even more comfortable. and really i am happy with the lines lindy put out there. i am upset about kaleta....and the refs SUCKED. game on go sabres
  3. today was embarrassing. what will it take for lindy to get fired? after the grigs benching last game during his 5 game tryout, and a complete lack of creativity, among a million other reasons, you would think somehow, someway he would get canned. it is funny that he complains that guys like ennis and foligno need to step up their game because everyone is going to know their tricks this year, yet what has he done differently to help this team win? the articles i read yesterday where all the players were buying into the "we can't play this pond hockey" crap completely set me off. i think i hate ruff. honestly. i just want to see what someone else can do with this team. i need to be more drunk than i am right now. go sabres.
  4. just finished the game. i know it is only one game, but i cannot single out one D-man that has looked confident in our end this year (3 games), let alone one D-pair. really really sloppy. also, really disappointed that The Big Easy did not demolish Bowman after he sent gerbe into the boards. grow a pair man. way too many behind the back passes. i have probably been most impressed with cody and jochen this year, both have looked as though they are fresh, fast, and in control. i did not expect it from jochen. lindy, switch up the d-pairs or sit someone and bring in brennan or weber just to get these guys going. (and i can't stand weber.) go sabres. get your slophockey together soon please.
  5. Definitely amped about the foligno, ott and scott in place of roy. kaleta and gerbe will get a little help, and i really think that ville is going to become more of a pest this season. or at least i hope so.....but i think i am most excited about rob ray in place of harry neale. man i could not STAND hearing that man spew from his mouth every game. so glad it is over. go sabres
  6. thank you
  7. so, brian burke being fired...is that being discussed somewhere?
  8. oh man....shot beer out my nose! nice post aw man...realize how inappropriate this is after reading further down thread and seeing about mrs. moore. sad news.
  9. awesome!
  10. Great to be back. i wonder if this year counts for mr. pegulas 3 year plan? I got engaged just before the season was supposed to begin, this lockout has been hell, because my lady just became a HUGE sabres fan 2 years ago and she has been craving it. really looking forward to having some quality time watching the games again. still angry for sure, but man i love watching hockey. go sabres
  11. have to admit that i forgot about all the signings and trades that must/may occur when this thing finally breaks. the last few months have been so frustrating that i have completely forgot about all the bobby ryan for (insert players name here) talk. curious to see if darcy can make me forget all about this dang cba and be even more excited for NEXT season. go sabres btw. oh and thank you to all you great posters that have been keeping this site interesting during suck dark days.
  12. This. The guy bleeds blue and gold. And he has really improved his all around game over the years. With the addition on some bigger bodies i would imagine he will be able to stay healthy more often. I want kaleta in my bottom six for sure.
  13. i agree with the bolded part
  14. i agree. i thought mike did a good job of interviewing him, and was pleased to see darcy be less cryptic.
  15. i'm with you true blue. stafford was hardly an afterthought.
  16. well we have gerbe to thank for ennis coming back and kicking butt. ennis had said that while sitting out injured, gerbe had inspired him to go all out every single shift. he had a lot of praise for him because he was one of the only guys giving 110% during that horrible mid-season slump. am not sure if he won't get traded, but while he is here i think playing him helps the team.
  17. thanks! thats great. so it is safe to assume the rumor of sabres heavily trying for nash are accurate. i like it!
  18. well, if roy gets to play with jagr, i think it is safe to say he will have a lot of points this year. good for him. and good for them. sabres are still going to beat them.
  19. Not really sure what you are getting at here. Nash plays RW and Vanek plays LW. i guess i can only assume that this is where they are most comfortable playing because they are both top line wingers. I'd rather keep them on their most comfortable side but maybe it isnt that big of a deal to them. oh well. acquiring nash without giving up a left winger(such as vanek) would be better imo because it seems as though it would be better to have players that play their natural position. i really hope not, but i bet his value is pretty high right now for a prospect.
  20. i think the sabres improve with nash over vanek if you are just talking player for player...but positionally im not sure it helps. taking away our top LW and adding another RW when you have pommer, stafford, and hopefully armia that can hold down the right side pretty well, leaves the left side pretty shallow on the depth by comparison in my opinion. i think this is what darcy was talking about in his presser....filling needs with out making holes in other spots.
  21. oh my god i laughed so hard at the bolded part!!!
  22. sounds like a nice guy. i was surprised at how much it sounded like he wanted to have a regular role in the game and to not be looked at as just an enforcer. he thinks he can contribute. so that i guess is encouraging. having a 6'8" monster on the wing that can actually contribute would be sweet! if he can skate and is responsible i would gladly having him in over say ellis?
  23. Thought this was funny. from the CBJs message boards: "The fourth period saying SJ offered Pavelski, Vlassic and Clowe for Nash, I know I know it's the fourth period nothing they say ever happens, but I really like that deal." and then the response "Throw in Niemi and send Mason back to SJ in deal and I am all over it."
  24. the only two i would not want to part with is armia and mcnabb. otherwise i am okay with a similar deal.
