looked to me like the other player kept punching him in the face while the refs had his arm tied up. kind of f%$#ed up. although he did go nutso down the hall...id still put a jersey on him.

if islanders fetch a first rounder for this years draft do you think they will then defer this years pick? i have to imagine the reason they put the deferment in the trade because they didnt want to give up a high pick if they tanked. so they have to defer to next year right??!!! man i hope so. they will then be without vanek, and should be a bottom feeder again. although i do feel that moulson will resign with them again as a free agent.

that, and you have to assume that darcy will work his way into another 1st rounder this year with unloading Ott, Miller, possibly the Hoff. not saying he will get one straight up for these players (which i actually think he can) but i am sure he will trade up into the first round if the islanders decide to defer to next season.

i get that people want Ott. but do you think that the decision makers may consider him a little to intense to be the captain? i picture him being so nuts during games...focusing on the other team and getting in their heads, that he is not really the best option. just a thought.

i hope its vanek. i have a strong hope that cody will convince him to stay. i am in the belief that we need him to stay...unless we get some good players in a trade...to get this rebuild over as fast as possible.

i like them both. i also am really happy with porter as well. i cannot stand pardy. pardy makes me want to hit myself in the face with a hammer any time he is on the ice. horrible. go sabres. going to be an interesting offseason for sure.

i agree. i am pissed. kaleta deserves to play. as i have said before, my opinion is that the team is way harder to play against, and plays harder as a team when kaleta is in the lineup. i don't understand it. the team lacks passion and balls. kaleta is one of the few that has those things. whatever. this is a joke.

im not sure that i would consider clarkson a star. but i can see a lot of teams wanting him. which hopefully at least makes him go to FA instead of signing again. good news is that there are a lot of good players hitting FA this year so maybe if we dont waste our time with a guy like perry and focus on other guys like clarkson, we should may be able to get him. just a thought. and actually this doesnt even involve a trade so it is probably in the wrong thread. sorry

i would love to add clarkson next year. my old roommate was a devils fan, so i unfortunately had to watch a bunch of games. the guy is insane! i think having him, 36, and 9 on the team would absolutely drive every team in the nhl nutso. we could then get rid of scott and actually have a player that can score and hit and fight and skate. every time 36 is out of the lineup, this team plays like a bunch of P's. having a guy like clarkie out there with those two, and foligno would make every game at least enjoyable! just my opinion. similar to the old ray, barnaby, may days. MAYHEM! plus...he is a UFA this year.

mike weber. Last year i thought he was horrible. this year, he has really improved and i am quite happy with his play. his aggressive play was not the problem, but his ability to clear the puck, break up plays, and get into position just seemed so horrible last year. he has definitely improved and has not only stepped up his hitting, he has become quite solid and reliable.

it seemed to me that they were booing the play of the sabres and that he just happened to be in possession of the puck at that moment. the team was running around in circles and deserved to be booed. what a joke of an effort again. new coach please. see what we get then make some player trades as needed.

i know people are complaining about us not needing scott (a Goon) and that we need talent with our muscle, but that fight showed me something i havent seen in a long time on the sabres. thornton has always seemed like a terror to fight against. and scott not only did not take a punch, he was also JUMPED by thornton and was still able to concuss him while taking orders for tim hortons after the game. the guy made him look like a little kid...IT WAS AWESOME. having lindy call the timeout and send out the goon with 13 secs left or whatever, was a great option to have. making sure no one pulls a cheap shot because the are friggin poor sports. i say thank you scott. again you have let guys like stafford check harder and more often, and guys like hecht create little scrums infront of the net. keep him dressed...and keep vanek protected. go sabres.

i have to say that i was never impressed with adam while he was on the line early in the season last year. to me it looked as though he was lost most of the time and just happened to get a few points because of vanek and pommer. just my opinion. hodgson looks as though every move he makes, he makes on purpose. i feel as though the line consists of the three players, not vanek, pommers, and then (insert name here). they look scary almost every shift. im very excited to see how this lines grows as the season progresses. what i am worried about, is our freakin Dmen. just plain awful nearly all season.
