The thing I don't get, don't you think that EVERY team is going to attempt to get better next year? Nyi are not the only team that will need goaltending or d or strong wingers. And it has been proven over the last few years that FAs do not want to go there. Looking at the rams that finished directly above them I really do not see them passing them in the standings next year. It is going to take a lot of work and whomever they pick in the fifth is not going to help out either. I just don't agree that the islanders will be good next year. Rams = teams. Autocorrect

i forgot we traded for his rights. True Well if his plan is to trade the 5th. Who can we give up for it? Do you think stafford and ruwhedul(sp?) and maybe a pick?
-
If Garth is supposedly thinking of keeping this years pick to use as trade bait, would you trade the hoff for the 5th straight up? It will make them a better team next year and lower our chances at an extra lottery pick but I still think I would do it.

makes sense. It sounded as though he wanted one specific guy but what you say makes way more sense. Cheers -

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Tim say that he is not worried about getting the first overall because there is an 80% hands they are going to get the guy they want? Does that make sense? Are they targeting someone completely unexpected? -

Tim is great. But am I the only one that can't stand listening to Ted? Sure I love the way the team plays in front of him, but I cannot handle listening to him speak. he is as bad as rob ray but I find ray endearing and ted unbearable. -
What if we trade him. And then a few years down the road trad for him again. Then if he retires early , will he fines have to be paid? Jesus. I cannot type on a phone. Sorry

something has to happen today right? i just cant imagine murray heading into wednesday with all of these assets. going to be an interesting couple of days -
i dont see why people are still flipping out about stafford. the guy has completely changed his game by showing more and more effort and producing and battling. he is now being called a leader from ted nolan, a guy whose opinion i respect on this very issue. we should be happy as heck that he has turned a corner. is that not what you want? for our players to realize and strive for their max potential? give the guy a break and move on. if there is a trade that makes the sabres better in the long run, then obviously we should go for it. but addition by subtraction, or buying out stafford are just two things i think we are wasting so much negative energy on. i want him to succeed. and as someone has posted above, the guy, despite being a whipping boy and taking on tons of criticism, has never lashed out and has been professional.

i really like TM. continue to like him more and more. so what is still odd, pegulas daughters tweet yesterday " suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked" or whatever it was. wasnt that just freakin weird? anyways, murray is in a good spot with TP, nolan is being asked to stay (even though he looked horrible in his press conference). lets get back to the task at hand, trade trade trade!

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition

these next few days are going to be nuts. i am almost terrified to see what the lineup is come march 6th -
I guess the reason I suggested it is that hey are a Stanley cup contender that has a first round pick that could land anywhere in the 10-14 range. If we snag their pick we could possibly hump up even higher with an extra 2nd rounder. It gives us a chance to get another solid choice if there is a guy that drops. Obviously a lot has to happen to make it a chance but it isn't out of the realm if possibility. I think in with you on obtaining as much as we can get. Now is the time to stock up even more so we increase our odds of getting some real contributors or increasing trade possibilities.
-
Three things. Assuming we finish last, we will have two "first round" picks. NJ Devils have to forfeit their pick this year so we will then have the number 30 pick. (not factoring in that we could get the islanders pick) The islanders currently have one more point than florida and calgary. but both florida have two games in hand. it is possible that the islanders occupy the number 3 slot, especially after trading away vanek. Anaheim Ducks own the ottawa senators (12th) pick this year, giving them two firsts. Possibly a trade there? maybe Ott for that 1st and something? This draft is going to be a huge draft for us. which i am sure you already know.

hmmm thanks for the info. I kind of find that hard to believe. You would think playing sports that he would have seen another mans manhood at some point in the locker room. It is a crazy video. There must be more to the story -

Thank you for posting. After hearing him speak, the Tweet was definitely misleading. he didnt say the those four Dmen are his core. he was talking about the farm team and prospects that they have in the pipeline. and that he really liked their games, along with Girgs, and others. again another great interview. this guy is freakin great. i also liked the part discussing the type of players that he likes and how there are similarities between the types of players ted nolan likes. doesnt mean he likes nolans style of coaching, but liking a similar style of player has to be a thumbs up for nolan right? -

seems like a step backwards. obviously who knows what we could get if he continues to play the way he has been. but i would rather keep on to that asset -

i actually think this may be the first time Tankadstebb is not being a jerk about it. you seem to be baiting him into an argument when he was just giving out info on what the interview was about. anyone can go listen to it to get there own interpretation. i dont know. i guess this time, just let it go everyone. good things are coming. hopefully
