to all Hecht haters: Oh come on, why is here so much Hecht hate around. Yeah he was overpaid, but he was a good player and was good for 40 to 50 points in a season. He is not a superstar, but a depth player. If Grigs isnot ready we do nothave to burn him. If he is ready, he should play and Hechttakes over another role. We need change for this team, but in this case we do not have to trade anything for a third line player. We improve the team at low cost which is great. Yes there is a risk he gets concussed again, but Crosby has the same risk and have 8 years left on his contract. Change needs time and the right chances. Change for the sake of change is often the wrong way. Good move, because of low risk and a high benefit chance

Thanks to all. I found the kindle app for my Ipad, bought it and read it in around 5 days. Fantastic read, i did not really know much about the beginning times and the first decade of our Sabres. Counsel in the crease i also bought but it is a heavy read, especially for a non natural speaker and non lawyer. And it is much about the history of the nhl and the legal stuff happening around the birth of the Sabres. I am not through yet and hope i gets more specifical. The 100things book is on the way. Ahhh yes the hockey fever is rising. Do you feel it too?

O' Reilly reminds me of Michael Peca, the same style and similar stats, but much younger Such talent is normally not available on the market and i do not believe that Darcy can show us some magic here. But Buffalo was forced to trade Peca later on and maybe something similar can happen here

Thanks for posting all these book recommendations. For the last three month i only read isome threads in the forum because of the frustrating lockout. I just ordered the 100 things book and counsel in the crease. The book Then Perreault said to ... is not available for a serious price ( >100$) at amazon. Maybe you can give me a tipp where i can buy it for a normal price. So i can get my hockey dose until the lockout is over or in worst case the season is canceled.

I will give my local team the Mannheim eagles some more attention. The season started yesterday.

Oh yeah i love Talisker. I have got a 10 year, 18 year, two special destillers editions and one 12 year filling. Talisker is a mouth filling scotch. There is a lot of smoke taste, some sharpness like pepper ( not cheap wodka sharpness) some hints of leather, sometimes it tastes a little salty to me. I love this whiskey. The destillers edition tastes a little more fruity and smokey because of the use of a second barrel type. It is my favorite so far. I also really like the smokynes ( i do not know if this is a real English word) of a 16 year old Lagavulin. I really like fine scotchs

Yeah Ryan is better han Stafford. Because of this he will/ may be upgraded with Sekera, a first and McNabb. Is in your opinion Ryan the same talent level as Vanek? I think the talent level is similar, but maybe Vanek is better because he had to play without an elite center the last years. But i try to think what i would accept for Vanek if we would shop him.

It is clear that Anaheim want such a fine trade. But that would be a massive overpayment in my opinion. The trade rumor of Stafford, Sekera, McNabb and a first rounder is in my opinion borderline expensive. Yeah Bobby Ryan scored 30+ goals the last four seasons, but he is not nearly a point per game player. Regardng points he is not a very big upgrade in comparison to Stafford. Is there a guarantee that he will reach the level of two or three seasons ago? No. If Stafford can play more consistent, He can be a force. Sekera is a fine player for me. The potential of Mc Nabb is good, but i base my opinion on the facts i read here on the forum, so i am not an expert on this one. And the first rounder is a lottery game. If Anaheim is lucky we are as bad as Toronto was after the Kessel trade and the first rounders are much more worth than suggested during the trade. Currently i am not sold to Bobby Ryan be a member of our team. I strongly believe that he will leave us as UFA after his contract expires and goes to Philadelphia, his favorite club.
