  1. He retired. My recollection is the physical ailments piled up. And age.
  2. Hey Reinhart dressed tonight! I hadn't seen him.
  3. Apparently Sedin is so skilled he can control the puck with his mind
  4. Should be no goal
  5. Tennyson is so great on the PP
  6. For the Sabres that means he's out 3-4 weeks.
  7. We can't hang with Vegas...they're too hard working and smart for Buffalo
  8. Love to see Eichel get a shot on goal tonight
  9. In total agreement with this sentiment. Phil is saying "Hey Zemgus, nice job scoring and playing physical and fast hockey on Jack's wing...now go center the 4th line with Jordan Nolan." WTF
  10. http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/how-long-should-a-team-hang-on-to-a-goaltending-prospect Article on Subban puts his development curve in perspective. Unclear how he'll do tonight of course...one thing is there isn't any NHL tape to study yet so he does have the element of surprise so to speak, at least for a few games.
  11. It does not. However I don't eat with, fly on planes with, ride on buses with, sweat and physically bang up against, nor shower and change clothes with, any of my co-workers (except my wife :flirt: ). So I don't think my office is a good control group to compare vs. an NHL team. My recollection of fraternity (or dorm) living back in college however is that stomach bugs generally worked their way through the population pretty much every year. Or maybe that was alcohol poisoning? But anyway, my point is that I have no idea what NHL teams do or don't do to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, I just think that without some data and frame of reference this is sort of a fruitless discussion because their situation in terms of physical proximity is not really comparable to our every day experience. Maybe the army would be a better comparison. They certainly have a strong culture and rigorous practices trying to keep the soldiers from harmful bacteria and viruses before they worry about bullets and bombs.
  12. Maybe they have. Is the prevalence of this issue more or less frequent on NHL teams than a control group with similar risk factors?
  13. Almost a sure loss coming in Anaheim tomorrow so that'll be 6...maybe at Vegas on Tuesday they'll break through. Time to start getting excited about the draft again.
  14. Yeah it's like a random number generator with those guys. Or shaking the magic 8 ball. "Try again later".
  15. Sabres training staff assessed it as day-to-day. Crack operation there. I could see this being a wasted season for Nylander.
  16. This post made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that. So by analogy, Crosby's success must be predicated on Bonino's success on the 3rd line.
  17. (Sigh)....forget about it. Let's go Sabres!
  18. I was asking a question. So please do enlighten me as to the point I missed.
  19. So just to clarify: You're not down with amputee veterans standing during the national anthem? I see hundreds of millionaire athletes kneeling during the national anthem on Sundays and have no problem with it. Likewise I am OK to see one elderly woman stand for the anthem on a Thursday night. But that's just me.
  20. Lehner still sucks on shootouts...but 0 for 3 ain't getting it done either
  21. I completely agree except in the total opposite sense.
  22. I find myself strangely anticipating who will be the forward and D who are healthy scratches tonight. I'm guessing Nolan and Tennyson but hoping it's Gorges. Let's Go Buf A Lo!
  23. Many years ago at work I almost blacked out due to stress induced anxiety. Had to lay down at the nurses office for more than an hour to recover. Since then I have learned that stress/anxiety was a component of a drinking problem, a failed marriage, and general unhappiness and poor health. Stress is always present and in some appropriate level, a good thing. However anxiety is a health threat that deserves on-going attention. For me it's been about working on my health, my spirituality, and lifestyle. Losing weight and especially exercising made a huge difference. I am not religious but found that people who were often had something I wanted...a peace of mind and serenity that enabled them to handle stress MUCH better than I did. So I spent some time exploring that and using the parts I found that worked for me. Lastly I gave up the drinking and worked on meditation, chose some less stressful (but still demanding) career paths, and focused more on family and friends and maintaining those close connections at a higher frequency. I don't recommend working on anxiety alone. Tends to make one anxious. Some combination of doctors, counselors/therapists, spiritual advisers, 12 step or support groups, family, and friends can and should be your support network. It goes much better that way! Good luck!
  24. That'd be great. He's 25 this season so it's getting to be put up or shut-up time for 3rd line credibility in the big leagues. If Samson stays at 3rd line Center, then I guess Larsson plays wing? Not sure about his skill set for that but who knows.
  25. Ehhh...even in his "breakout" season last year at almost 17 minutes per night ice time including some PP time he needs to generate more than 1.36 shots per game to be on my 3rd line unless he's an assist machine, which he is not. He can jump up to the 3rd line when needed due to injuries. It's not like he's Delo, or now Nolan, I guess.
