https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/16/opinions/south-korea-italy-coronavirus-survivability-sepkowitz/index.html Opinion piece on CNN, albeit the opinion of an infectious disease expert at Sloan Kettering...thinks the biggest driver of SK vs. Italy (for example) is demographics. Having spent plenty of time in SK and know some folks there quite well I'd say they do take leadership direction more seriously than other cultures may. They are also organized as sh*t there. Not quite Japan levels but more so than the US.

Well...is this thread now "What concerts did you plan to attend but likely won't be attending as they are cancelled"? Two concerts March and April here in Corning are postponed or likely cancelled. Since January I've intentionally held off buying any other tickets in anticipation of such a large gathering ban occurring. My next major show is July 1st at CMAC, hoping very much things are clear by then and I can make my annual pilgrimage to see Tedeschi Trucks Band.

I have the same feelings about Rush, ELP, The Who, CSNY (as pointed out, already a supergroup), The Beatles, and The Allman Brothers Band. Would I really substitute anyone else into one of those slots?

And Blind Faith

I chose Palmer but could sub in Peart, Bonham, Moon, Baker...so many. Heck, could make a second team across the board as good as the first. (Hendrix, Joe Cocker, Entwhistle...)
-
Yup. Saw him with ELP and Asia multiple times...he's still touring btw with a crew that plays the old ELP and some other prog rock sort of stuff.

Based on some of the comments on this board I'm surprised the stores are not also out of aluminum foil as well as toilet paper. You know, for hats.

Who do you propose was initiating this test? Surely not the Chinese. Not because I think they wouldn't sacrifice thousands of their own citizens for the "greater good" but rather because they are all about control, and control is achieved through economic stability. Setting something like this on the world, especially emanating first in their own country, is a recipe for a massive global recession which is not at all in their best interests, even less so than the US.

https://medium.com/@tomaspueyo/coronavirus-act-today-or-people-will-die-f4d3d9cd99ca The analytically minded crowd here might appreciate this one. Would be interested in thoughts on it. To me the two key points are around China's ability to lock down 60 million people - not present in Western countries AND the impact of not flattening the curve on mortality rates for Covid-19 and other unrelated illnesses or accidents that don't get addressed due to consumed hospital resources.

OT: Information on Coronavirus from the Far East

I hope you’re right. Transmissibility and death rate appears to be higher than typical flu strands which is concerning. Regardless of media fallibility there really are unknowns that have some bad scenarios possible. Fear and panic are not our friends however. -
Bogosian Signs a 1.3 Million Dollar Deal with Tampa

Ok that makes sense. Yes, I read it completely differently. -

Please tell me how this works. I am so curious as to how Bogo's injuries and poor play are the organization's fault. I mean, ROR lost his love of the game and all that and it didn't cause him to be injured, or lose his ability to play hockey well. -
March 10th, The Brothers at MSG in NYC. One time tribute to the Allman Brothers Band with the remaining members. In terms of the 2 original memebers, Jaimoe will be there but not Dickey Betts as he declined to attend. One announced guest is Chuck Leavell who was a full-time member in the 70's (Rolling Stones and other since then). I'm expecting some unannounced guests to pick up some of the singing as well since Gregg passed and I don't think Warren will do it all. Basically if Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, and Oteil Burbridge get on stage together to crank out ABB tunes, I'm there.

Except Tedeschi Trucks Band. They are incredible live.

I work for a Fortune 500 company. We have several thousand employees in China and are in communication and tracking every single employee. We have a couple hundred working in Wuhan. Just a random data point but we have 1 employee with the virus. He is recovering. We have a few people with family members ill who had to go home to care for them and have rigorous quarantine procedures in place for folks in China or traveling internationally anywhere in Asia (might expand later). We are working extremely hard to keep people and their families safe. For folks in Hubei province without this sort of employer providing communication and support, it must be terrifying. -
I want to see Kingfish. He's going to be a star. Unfortunately I can't catch the show in Buffalo on March 7th as I am going to see Graham Nash in Ithaca the same night. Going to see "The Brothers" at MSG for the one time show celebrating 50 years since The Allman Brothers formed. Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge, Jaimoe, lots of guests including Chuck Leavell. I am so pumped.

In other words, the Sabres retail operations are of the same low quality as most retail operations in the United States these days. I mean, if Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Kohls, Michaels, and other large retail chains can't deliver consistent quality and customer service (and they don't) it's not unreasonable to expect a hockey team to struggle with it as well. Nonetheless it's surely frustrating for consumers and the alumni jersey thing should be embarrassing to the organization. My solution to this is a total spending embargo on Sabres gear or games until at least January 2021. I'll reconsider then. After blowing over $1000 in 2019 to take my family to two Sabres games and seeing them score a combined 0 goals across both games, I'm a little bitter.

12 year old baritone. Not expecting it to be a girl. Pulled it off though. -
Ending the year by finding something else to do other than watching this sad team get abused by Tampa tonight. Signing Dalton Smith and dressing him tonight makes me think Botterill is studying Slapshot for personnel moves. If I'm correct we'll see a French speaking goalie brought in and Sam Reinhart doing a strip-tease on ice soon. Happy New Year!

Well, that didn’t work out.
-
Agree. I haven’t been to too many games in recent years but I had no idea Bruins fans traveled like this. Neutral site game. That call on Johansen was so weak.
-
Agree. “Let’s go Bruins” chants started right before the TV timeout. Sad.
-
It’s like a Bruins home game in the stands. More B’s jerseys than Sabre’s I think.

Going with my wife and three kids as the tickets were a family Christmas present. Really hoping they don’t suck.
