  1. Yes, roughly half the league should end up with a PDO higher than 1. My point is simply that even if they regress to a season long and potentially league leading PDO of say 1.035, that means they roll the next 76 games at something like a PDO of 1.033 (I didn't do the math) which is clearly quite a bit lower than 1.067. Maybe that will happen. It would be awesome. But it still validates that a PDO of 1.067 and 11 out of every 12 possible points isn't really sustainable. I am very happy with how the team is playing. Not a naysayer. I'm smokin' whatever Ralph is dealin'.
  2. They look a lot better this year for sure. However PDO is 1067 which is #1 in the league and will regress. Powerplay won't click at 43% forever either. Also if they kept this up they'd end up with 150 points which I don't think will happen. I am OK if they end up with 115-120 ?
  3. You'd score in the low teens for sure.

  5. He’s on a pace for 10 goals this year. He’s a massive disappointment thus far. Its justifiable to be frustrated when he misses a grade A chance on the road vs Boston when Eichel is out. I guess it’s not unexpected.
  6. I feel so dumb. I actually expect Casey to bury some of those in the back of the net. Don’t know what I’m thinking!
  7. Flipping back and forth with the football game...horrible injury just occurred and they showed it in slow motion before the commercial...just awful.
  8. Mittlestadt has to at least get that shot on net. He’s lost confidence in his game. I still think he needed 1/2 season in Rochester.
  9. Pro-grade Analytics: “shots on goal” Whoa, better break out R to analyze that data.

  11. Please do tell me. Oh wait, you did. Yup, I don’t believe you.
  12. Just read this. Strong words indeed. Also incredibly unprofessional, short sighted, and immature. I'd be totally OK with Tyler Seguin slotted in as #2 behind Jack. Maybe they'd take Okposo back as part of a package. Since Seguin is ***** and all.
  13. Sure, I wasn't intending the comment to be critical. Might have come across that way. I understand it's part time. As a non-trivial level fund provider of the endeavor I just wish they had either made clear this was a 4+ year journey and/or figured out how to align resources to get it done in, I don't know, maybe two years? I still hope to be at the opening of it in Buffalo one day.
  14. I contributed to the kickstarter campaign for this documentary so I get updates from time to time. Apparently they are planning on going to some festivals soon and release in 2019. I'm a bit skeptical given how long they've been at it (funded in Nov 2015!) but I'd think it will eventually be completed.
  15. "Why thank you, I just had it stuffed." One of my favorite movie lines ever.
  16. My point is no team is ever totally healthy so many teams can say “if only we were healthy we’d be top 10”. It’s a big ‘what if’
  17. Great analysis, thanks for posting. As to this comment...I am pretty sure there are at least 15 teams in the top 10 in the NHL when healthy. Of course a team is rarely 'healthy' for very long over 82 games, hence many teams saying they'd be 10 but for injuries. I don't have any data to back it up but my feel for the Sabres injury level was somewhere about average for the year with a beyond average dose in recent games but relatively good health early.
