OT: Canada smoke smells of shame and Martin Short
TheAud replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I’m no expert, but I am aware that in addition to or perhaps, instead of climate change, one of the biggest reasons for massive wildfires was the century long approach to stopping all forest fires instead of letting them play out as they have for millennia. This led to a buildup of smaller vegetation that becomes a tinder box when the fire eventually hits, leading to such an out of control blaze it even consumes the large trees that would survive a normal fire (a pre-forest fire intervention fire). -
Tedeschi Trucks Band at Red Rocks (2 shows) Gov’t Mule at Red Rocks; playing Dark Side of the Moon straight through. Bryan Adams/Joan Jett at Ball Arena Rod Stewart/Cheap Trick at Ball Arena Aerosmith/Black Crowes at Ball Arena Those are the shows I have tickets for. Several others I play the last minute reseller game and will grab a ticket right before the show if they drop enough.

Nope. It was goaltending.

If Okposo is on the 4th line, clocking 13 minutes per game or less, I am fine with this. At this point he's not a 3rd liner on a top playoff team anymore, which is where I think this team is shooting for. You watch these playoff teams and they have 3 lines that can score and the 4th line is tough defensively and chips in occasionally. Maybe Okposo is part of that sort of 4th line, as I feel like he was at times in the recent past. I am not in the least worried about 'blocking' Kulich or Rosen as they need more seasoning in the AHL anyway and can be call-ups if needed. I am more interested in how this may impact re-signing Jost who I think is a great 4th liner, and Girgensons who is also a 4th liner.

Tage thompson was almost traded to the leafs in 2021
TheAud replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
Tage for a 5th at that point in time (or any point in time) doesn't make any sense. More likely this is someone in the Dubas camp planting stuff with Seravalli to make Dubas' departure explainable as Shanahan interference just made it impossible for Dubas to make the necessary moves. -
OK for those of us who can't see the game...what does this mean? Seems ominous!

Completely into Billy Strings recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y97gX9QSwZk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwH5ACiN6fY And yes, in that second video he's dressed like a hobbit. Did three concerts in a row where they did the Lord of the Rings books in order with a combination of his songs, classics, and original pieces to fill in the story line. Between the two songs you can see the range from classic bluegrass to early metal/prog rock.

But he didn’t regain control of his body first, he just madly scrambled back for no reason with the puck behind the net

Oettinger screwed the pooch on that goal

Sabres Sign Defenseman Nikita Novikov to 3 Year ELC
TheAud replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Do any of the knowledgeable people (unlike me) out there know if he's a candidate, or likely, to play in Rochester next year, or more likely spend another year in Putin-land? -
Kyle Dubas not returning as Toronto Maple Leafs GM
TheAud replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
After he gets a year of playoff experience under his belt and some increased defensive awareness, I think it's Cozens. -
Come on, Scajaquada is spelled just like it sounds. 😉

I'm rooting for Florida over Carolina just because I like the way that team is playing and find them enjoyable to watch. Of course Dallas over Vegas. Screw Eichel. I like watching Oettinger in net and Dallas has some interesting players like Heiskanen, Wyatt Johnston, and Robertson. Also, Old Man Pavelski.

It pains me to say it... but not Bocce's. I grew up on Bocce's and considered it the premier pizza place in the world, let alone Buffalo (I'm engaging in hyperbole, but you get my point). Now, their quality control has gone to pieces. Some pies from the Williamsville location are still like the old days, but not nearly often enough. Then they opened up an outlet in the airport. I have tried it twice. Good lord, it's has gone to sh*t entirely. OK, rant over. (My suggestion would be Imperial Pizza from the southtowns)

I was there on Friday when Game 5 was played. Walked over to T-Mobile during the second period. They have a huge screen on the side of the arena showing the game live and another smaller but better screen as well. Frankly there weren't too many people out there watching, maybe in the 50-100 range and a third of them were Oilers fans. However as you walk away from T-Mobile towards the strip there is a massive sports bar that looks like a great place to watch the game. What was interesting was the feed next to the arena was truly 'live' and when Vegas scores they play the horn outside the arena. However at the sports bar it's a 30-40 second delay so people cheer when they hear the horn, then they watch for a while in anticipation and cheer again when they see how Vegas scored. BTW a single ticket on resale (Ticketmaster) before the game was generally down to $185-$195 including all fees. This is for the upper deck of course. There are cheaper ways in as well but standing room only and some cases limited or no view.

Eichel with two apples in the first period. Screw Vegas

Happy for Reino and screw Toronto

Buffalo is in Buffalo’s situation whereas Carolina consistently puts a competitive team on the ice. I can only imagine that Toronto, Boston, and Montreal fans think the same thing about the games they see televised from Buffalo.
-
Carolina was second in the league in home attendance during the regular season, trailing only Montreal. 99.6% of seats filled. Florida filled 86.7% of their capacity this year. By comparison, Buffalo was at 81.6% of capacity. I love the Sabres, but I’m not seeing the case for casting aspersions on the quality of other teams fan bases these days in comparison to Buffalo. (And I do believe it will build back in Buffalo over the next couple years…)
