Yeah, same two posters didn't understand the ironic humor of my prior post either. -
Zucker: 'I would love' to sign extension with Sabres
TheAud replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
The Sabres should not sign anyone dumb enough to want to play for them. -

Great win! I didn’t watch it. Just looked in the standings and they’re only 2 points out of 15th in the conference, albeit giving up a game in hand. Still, it’s exciting. -

Nah. It will involve Jason Zucker for picks or a prospect.

100% this. Watching Owen Power in a Sabres uniform makes me ill at this point. Trade him while they can.

GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ Colorado Avalanche 01/02/25 9PM --MSG

I was at the game tonight because of free tickets. Good seats. It was of course an exciting game and the energy in the building (18k sellout, no empty seats on a Thursday for a non-conference opponent) was intense. I was sitting next to another long time Sabres fan and we were telling our wives and some nearby Avs fans how the game would go once they got up 2 goals. We predicted they'd have a 2-goal lead in the 3rd and the Avs would tie it late and win early in the OT. As it played out people kept looking at us in increasing amazement. We just smiled in silent resignation. As the game hit the last few minutes the pucker-factor on the Sabres was evident in their faces and their passive play. This is the most sorry-ass, gutless bunch of losers I've ever seen in Buffalo sports over the past 4+ decades. I haven't watched more than a few minutes on TV the past 10 games or so and don't plan on watching any more than that the rest of the season.- 646 replies

Rhett Warrener (not aging well) on Lindy and Terry: "They are buddies"
TheAud replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
It's tough getting older. No need to point out that Rhett Warrener isn't aging well. That's just mean. -
Conn Smythe winner in Seattle?

Power is almost the anti-Risto. Risto: Fast skater, played a physical game, could play some defense at times, complete lack of hockey sense and limited offensive skills. Power: Slow skater, plays the least physical game possible, plays limited, if any defense, decent hockey sense and strong offensive skills.

Yes, but isn’t ‘Kazem’ quite a bit cooler?

Sub-par performance for extended periods of time is not tolerated in Colorado.

My new policy of not watching this team play hockey paid off big time tonight. It's been almost 50 years of fandom and they finally broke me. -
I don’t know the band but that’s awesome

He’s learning the Sabres gentle style of play. -
Not to say he'll be 'ruined', but I worry about this with Benson. What I mean by that is that it's a different skillset and approach to the game to be a guy who scores 30+ goals as a pro and a guy who is a defensive pest and chips in with 30 points a season. Benson didn't get, nor will he likely get, a season at the AHL level to learn how to be a first line scorer and then translate that to the NHL level. Instead, he learned to 'survive' as an 18-year-old and will build from there. I am not saying he can't get to legitimate first or second line status, but I do think there is a risk he doesn't get due to not learning how to play that way as a pro.
