  1. I took my kids to a Sabres - Bruins game in Buffalo maybe 3 years ago....thought I was in Boston for all the B's fans that surrounded us. They outnumbered Sabres fans no kidding 5:1. And of course the Sabres were shut out.
  2. When I am back in WNY over the holidays I had thought about taking my family to a Sabres game. But they are playing Boston...so no way in hell I am spending money on that. Won't be watching tonight's beat down either.
  3. I voted ‘no’. But ideally he’d be fired today.
  4. Yeah, I can’t switch either. I’m thinking more like ‘augment’.
  5. He sort of screwed up there. Will need to do an Eichel move in a year or two when the cap goes up.
  6. I’ve never considered changing my team preferences but for the foreseeable future….I live in Denver…why the hell not be an Avs fan? I’m die hard Bufffalo fan for approaching 50 years but there’s only so much a man can take.
  7. 50% chance Comrie gets injured in any particular game. So a good chance we'll see Levi tonight.
  8. Not much of an Adams fan, and certainly not Granato, at this point. But if Rivet and Peters don't like them, it sort of makes me want to like them a bit. Because those guys are a**hats.
  9. I believe that one aspect of coaching is to re-instill this in the players.
  10. Dahlin takes a lot of bad penalties
  11. Okposo would be awesome in a beer league this year
  12. But Adams can’t see the forest from the trees, unfortunately
  13. He appears to be drunk
  14. It was December 3rd, 1994. I was living in Georgia when my friend who I shared an apartment with, and a visiting college friend had what we still refer to as "The Day". The Day started with an excellent tailgating session outside the Georgia Dome. Great food and spirits, tossing the football around in the parking lot, and meeting many friendly fans and socializing. Then we attended a thrilling SEC Championship game where #6 ranked Florida defeated #3 ranked Alabama 24-23. My housemate graduated from Florida so we all rooted for the winning team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjrS_XFMtYU When that ended, we decided to head 'across the street' and scalped tickets to see the Atlanta Hawks host the Orlando Magic. Rooting for the Hawks, we saw another thrilling contest with the home team lead by Stacie Augmon and Mookie Blaylock win 107-105 despite 27pts & 15 rebounds from Shaq and 26 from Penny Hardaway. https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/141203001 After that, we kept on walking and ended up in one of Atlanta's finest ballet dancing establishments. I'll refrain from going into details on this board but suffice to say, it was an awesome end to The Day. Both sporting events occurred in venues that no longer exist (Georgia Dome and the Omni). I am unsure on the current status of the strip club...

    AITAH?

You're one of my favorite posters here and I actually noticed you being an A-hole and figured something must be wrong. Usually a good thing to purge the soul and admit wrong-doing. Good on ya.
  16. He's been a pretty good goal scorer for a while who has continually struggled with in-season injuries. That said, his 26% shooting percentage won't hold up. Meanwhile I've been riding him in Fantasy Hockey 🙂
  17. Buffalo pro sports have me too beaten down at the moment. I am taking this one off tonight. Good luck to the team, and to the poor souls who watch it.
  18. Interesting. I would have thought there would be a bigger spread. Jokiharju surprises me. Based on Granato's recent decisions it seems like he has him 7th, but based on at least these two data points, he should be ahead of Clifton (which to me is obvious) and E. Johnson (less obvious to my eyeballs) and maybe even Samuelsson (who has sucked this year but demonstrated better in the past).
  19. I wonder about the sample size and context relative to this metric. Power doesn't get sheltered minutes so far as I can tell but he's well ahead of Dahlin. Seems like you'd have to consider zone starts as well. Just from watching I don't get the sense that E. Johnson gets 'protected' relative to matchups, but I don't have any data on that either (and I'm not looking it up). But it would stand to reason that if E. Johnson is used much more often than say, Jokiharu, for defensive zone starts, he would have a lower number here. But the reason he's even in that position is because the coaching staff is more comfortable with there (rightly or wrongly). I guess it would be good to have a more holistic argument as to why Johnson sucks but it's a fan forum, not a Stats II homework assignment, so I get it. Yeah, I get it. Sometimes it's fun to see if the OP gets it though.
  20. What is "Relative Expected Goals %"? Is it telling me that Dahlin is the Sabres 5th best defenseman? Because if it is, it's BS.
  21. Who’s backing up Comrie tonight?
  22. Now I have to turn off the game next time they’re down two going into the third. It’s a burden I’m willing to bear.
