Tonight, Billy Strings in Denver with my two oldest kids who are flying in from Buffalo.
Tomorrow, Billy Strings again with my kids.
Sunday, Billy Strings floor General Admission by myself, post Bills game.
A 3-fer.
Great win! I didn’t watch it. Just looked in the standings and they’re only 2 points out of 15th in the conference, albeit giving up a game in hand.
Still, it’s exciting.
I was at the game tonight because of free tickets. Good seats. It was of course an exciting game and the energy in the building (18k sellout, no empty seats on a Thursday for a non-conference opponent) was intense. I was sitting next to another long time Sabres fan and we were telling our wives and some nearby Avs fans how the game would go once they got up 2 goals. We predicted they'd have a 2-goal lead in the 3rd and the Avs would tie it late and win early in the OT. As it played out people kept looking at us in increasing amazement. We just smiled in silent resignation.
As the game hit the last few minutes the pucker-factor on the Sabres was evident in their faces and their passive play. This is the most sorry-ass, gutless bunch of losers I've ever seen in Buffalo sports over the past 4+ decades. I haven't watched more than a few minutes on TV the past 10 games or so and don't plan on watching any more than that the rest of the season.
