Yes, but that is precisely my point. They have done a good job at bringing in up and coming leaders but unless they are willing to wait a few more years, someone needs to come in and mold those guys.

There may be leaders that surface on this team in later years but who do we know are leaders NOW? I can safely say that Ott is THE leader of this team right now. I am hoping that Hodgson turns into one eventually. As far as anyone else, I come up empty. Maybe I'm wrong, but with the youth movement going on, this looks to be a pretty damning sign. Off season priority number one is to now get a leader on the FIRST line. This needs to be someone who can take a game in his own hands and change it instantly (tone and score.) Who are some targets because we need a GM who is going to make some "bold moves" of his own. The slow starts of the last few seasons plus the disappearing act for whole periods is proof that this person has been missing. Ott is slowly correcting this so go get another.

McTavish quoted saying looking to do Bold Things. I would think trading Vanek for one of their younger guys would be exactly that. Edmonton is sitting on too much youth and Vanek could be the guy that puts them into the playoffs next year....

Well I was glad they won for the sake of my 5 year old but without that Kaleta fight, it was one of the top 5 most boring games I have attended.

He would have been gone by trade deadline if he was going, Regier is here to stay. Pegula is judging him on moves he has made since HE has been here. In Pegula's defense, Darcy has made some pretty nice moves with Ott, Hodgson and draft picks for players. Right or wrong, if that is what he is truly basing Regier's job on, he stays. The biggest job Darcy has now is moving Miller and Vanek (especially Vanek). The return(s) will be scrutinized heavily next year and the earliest Darcy will be evaluated is before trade deadline next year.

Mark my words, Vanek or Stafford will be benched for Saturday. Is Foligno even on this team anymore?

I'm really starting to wonder if the Bills or Sabres ever make the playoffs again. I can't even picture it.....
