  1. Thanks swamp, if you don't mind me asking, what's going on in your life that's causing a swampy swamp? As for the ACA, it's so convoluted as unfortunately the pharma industry is all entwined with things too, that's a whole different can of worms. In most of the country I do believe that it is universal, I've worked in high class places, down to Amish country hospitals all the way through trauma 1 centers. Some of this burden is on society and the way we are these days, dare I say wimpy.... I would love to see a socialized medicine where providers are paid a fair amount and given reasonable workloads, right now it's almost a battle, hell some radiologists I know wake up at 3am to be first to read an MRI because it pays more than a CT or xray..... But the catch is, that xray that's being left, could be very instrumental in diagnosing something compared to the much more fancy MRI study. I don't know if we could pull it off as a country, but I'd like to scrap the ACA and trend in that direction.... As for those providers who are gung ho, let them take the private pay privileged folk.... I want to see more of an effort on preventative service, and maybe even expedite those who actively help with preventative measure for themselves..... I realize I'm dreaming at this point. So I think it needs to be scrapped and rebuilt in a different manner, socialization won't fix the problem of overloading, but increasing prevention and staffing would go a long way and then socializing could potentially work, it would be a long process. No matter what position in a hospital, it's pretty obvious ya know!! I believe you said you were in radiology or CT correct? Have you seen the ridiculous orders for basic stuff because of providers needing to "cover their butts"?!?
  2. Well I appreciate that, and I understand the frustration of Healthcare, I hope that turns around for you.... The main issue with it (granted I'm not a political man) is that it opened the floodgates in hospitals with sub par care.... A lot of rural hospitals I work at are being flooded at an alarming rate mainly in part to ACA and it's simply overwhelming the medical profession. From the inside out, the care myself or colleagues would like to give is hampered by the changes that were brought about by the reform.... I do work with some real pieces of work that want that $ more than anything else, but many of my colleagues just want to do right by the patient. The Emergency rooms are basically opened floodgates ever since Obamacare which in turn has caused a cascade effect on the system, ie, internal med, ob/gun, etc. While I do appreciate the fact that it's goal was to give all citizens insurance, it was done in such a hurried and flawed manner. I'm not a good debator and that may not be very articulate, but I hope it makes a little sense
  3. This is personal and utterly unacceptable.... There is a reason I don't come into this thread. You realize 3 months out of the year I'm out of the county doing volunteer work at my own expense, I am up to my ears in student debt, and I got into medicine for the science and patients, and let me tell you, it's not as prosperous or glamorous as you may think from the outside. I'll gladly leave this thread and let you enjoy your bitterness
  4. What legacy lol? The one where his stimulus package flopped horrendously... Or the Obama health care reform that is actual garbage

  9. That's fair, I think it's looking like the GOP may have full control, however trump doesn't have the full support..... I have no idea what policies he will want to push through, the big mouth blabbering will never come about, so I'm curious..... The markets crashing is expected but yet troublesome with how low
  10. I haven't been following too close, good call Eleven. I honestly, like much of the country am not overly Joyous for either, but internally, I was rooting for Donald with a punchers chance to break away from the wheel of crap that is a politician world. Now as for foreign affairs, it could cause some crashing and burning, but I do think the taxes/overall capital will flourish under trump
  11. I rarely (if ever) visit here..... I for one am going to rejoice a repeal of Obamacare, just because it affects me personally and it sucks. As for the election I am honestly pretty surprised in how this is evolving!!! Who woulda thought
  12. For all these guys that defended Sherman after acting like a grade A thug on TV, he is certainly looking more and more like what he portrays himself as, a loud mouth POS who has a degree
