The 2nd leg of my Ironman preview workouts up in placid, I tackled the bike loop, 3100 feet of elevation and I was stoked about my split!

I'll try and explain my thoughts a little later, I'm trying to meet most halfway, compared to my stance in April. I'm out in Lake Placid right now and don't have much service.

What if that person was coming to the hospital for a psych consult and happened to have one of the other million bugs that still exist and can cause a fever.... That person ends up not getting the help they need and another life is lost due to Covid but not Covid. I have seen sooooo many cases of Covid killing people that never had the virus, the steps we have arbitrarily taken that don't make much sense have cause a significant fallout in other areas that are not being reported. Some steps I'm fine with, some make sense, others are nothing more than a feel good load of mularky.

Not arguing for replacing by any means, I simply think it's just fluff. A lot of the steps were taking are nothing more than fluff. If they help people sleep better at night then wonderful.

Up in Lake placid, did the 1.2 mile swim in Mirror lake, bit of a slow finish, but still not bad overall.

I was told I had a 92 degree temp when I had to "check in" to work one day and it was like "oh, you're under 98.6, you're all clear" The accuracy of temporal/infrared Temps is very very user dependant and very inaccurate as well. If you have a fever, you'd be flush, sweaty, etc, but basic physical appearance and physical exams are apparently a thing of the past.

I'm guessing he was after your 2nd wife...

Cmon NS, come down and train with me ? There are some intense and insane athletes, def not the way I'll ever be wired, it's certainly impressive to see, but man!!! I had bike splits of 5 miles yesterday of 16 min or so and I was still being passed easily!

I was happy to see hockey the other night, but when I watched it, I wasn't all that excited, I can't put my finger on it, but it just didn't feel like playoff hockey to me.

I just finished my first ever Triathalon yesterday, it was a sprint Triathalon, so pretty short overall. What a unique experience, very intimidating also. I finished in 1:17 so fairly middle of the pack which is fine with me, I did beat my buddy by 13 minutes, so he owes me a calzone and a beer ?? It's funny, yesterday there were so many people in 10k dollar bikes that I passed and at the end a guy on a 300$ diamondback passed me lol.

I'm probably out this year, not focusing much on sports so much these days

Venice was cool for a day or 2, but it didn't quite do it for me the way I thought it would. I found the Almafi coast overall to be much more spectacular

We simply can't cure viruses, we haven't been able to for hundreds of years and we aren't going to anytime soon (except hepatitis C) we can get to treatments to help them lay dormant or to allow timing out of the virus so it can't replicate properly. Maybe we can figure out some of the miraculous breakthroughs that cure Hep C and implement that in research going forward; it's also rather sad, but a lot of "studies" being put forth are pure junk and speculation and being touted as actual science. Mostly because we have a need to have something new in our faces every 15 seconds.

That's not the answer from an Ironman ??

Cycling is great, I look forward to the days where I don't have a heavy training load, cycling for pleasure or just sightseeing is great too. But also ripping down a hill at 50mph is also a Blast!!! Until I realize I have to go back up it.

@New Scotland (NS) Istanbul and turkey in general are amazing. One of my favorite major cities I've ever been. Cappadocia turkey was amazing too!

I feel the same way, and I can't wait for the world to open up again, I'm itching for an international trip!

It's so hard to nail down which are my favorite places, I also don't wanna hijack this thread ???

These things are all true, it's certainly not easier, and it does require effort. I think the rub is that in America, sadly, effort is hard to come by, especially as of late..... I mean this on a whole, not in micro segments of populations. My takes on this are derived from seeing a ton of the world, we certainly have it very very good here in this country, almost too good some days. We are seen in a certain light here when talking to locals of Asia, Europe, etc; we give off this vibe of overweight, loud, and willing to share our feelings easier than a lot of other cultures, we have a specific way of dress and sadly we love our fast food, even in other countries, this confirmed by the lines of Americans I see at burger King and KFC in capital cities; These are all convos that I've had with people over the years. Even when it comes to this whole Covid thing, whether you agree or not agree the effort levels are varying so much. We all know my stance on this isn't super popular, but it's not hard to put some masks in my car and use hand sanitizer, I mean honestly lol.
