I'm pumped, I just booked a long trip in may/June, flying into Azerijban, gonna head to fire mountain then to Tbilisi, Georgia; renting a car and driving around Georgia and Armenia for a week. Back to Cappadocia for hot air balloon ride and some 4 wheeling, a day in Istanbul for Turkish delight and Turkish bath. Heading to Havana in 2 weeks and scuba diving in Bahamas in April. 2020 is gonna be a good year ?

I got a bit of flack for being pessimistic before the Toronto game, I implicitly said after the nice win, that we can't turn around and lose to a bottom feeder. And viola, teams that make the playoffs simply don't lose this game after winning the last one in that fashion (no often anyways) All that hope (tiny as it may be) from the TO game is now gone and here we are all upset again. I'm not as upset because I saw the writing on the wall and even though that was a nice game last time out, we simply can't sustain it. Jbot has effectively been successful with severing ties with several long time fans, creating apathy and assembling a team that simply is not good enough and doesn't entertain or play exciting hockey. In a sport where entertainment is honestly not that hard to achieve, he managed to make it possible. Sad day for sabres fans everywhere, I am really hopeful this turns around sometime soon, each passing year that goes by with similar results the more and more we lost could be fans of the younger generation.

Well, I was downtown for the day and the Toronto fans were EVERYWHERE, in full force.... Stopped by canalside and it was packed so took the metro to fountain plaza, much more manageable for a skate. The metro back to the car was a metro full of blue and white. It was a disparity in which I haven't seen before. I had little hope for this game, and had some friends over and skipped watching as whiskey in the hot tub sounded more delightful. I just read the board and caught the highlights, very impressed and quite surprised. Seems like I missed an epic one. Hope is there (a small glimmer) but we can't go laying eggs against bottom feeders from this point on.

I'll be ice skating at canal side this afternoon, that's as close to this game as I'll wanna be. Sadly, I think we're in for a rude awakening, I think a couple close wins against bad teams has us forgetting just how bad we are, and we're gonna see that tonight. My older sister is a new anti-vaxxer and somehow has become a major Conspiracy theorist lately (too much time on the internet). She loves to argue but Franky, isn't smart enough about any of this to have the opinions she does. I can't help but see this In society, the number of patients who spew nonsense about vaccines, the Coronavirus, the govt did this on purpose, etc etc. I just can't with any couth handle it much anymore. The influenza virus, by large has and will cause more damage than this one in China, the vaccination was poor this year (as it has been in recent years). This is not to discount Corona at all, the virus is real and is a thing that has the ability to spread. But the spotlight it is receiving in this new technological age is getting outta hand!

Coming from a medical perspective, I'm curious what caused the syncope and collapse. The differential is very large and can be anything from dehydration to cardiac arrest, and anything in between. I am glad he's well, but I believe his retirement is most like looming, he's had a hell of a career, no point in continuing the risk if it was something more along the serious side.

The hockey is straight up terrible, I watched a very nice 3 on 2 just go to waste because we don't have players that know what to do, the Puck went the other way and the wings got a chance. Bright spot, we scored 2, so I get free coffee for the ride home
