  1. You think the education you're getting is the whole story? None of us are getting the truth. In a world of analytics and statistics, we can massage the numbers to appear however we'd like.
  2. What's really sad through all of this is the sheer number of false reporting, shady business and etc. The WHO has been basically caught covering this up, there are serious reports that Italy falsifyed its numbers, there are many speculations that physicians in NY and the US are counting deaths as Covid without any actual proof and other causes of death. We have Fauci spouting that we can't have an in person electon in NOVEMBER (yeah, that's not shady). We have politicians spouting false science and keeping the general public in a tizzy. This is all coming through to me, as an individual that has actively attempted to avoid as much of this as possible. This recession/depression was not necessary, there were steps that could have been taken short of what we did. But it's all for naught now. I get what you're saying but there are only 6 of them on your doorstep and, those are family members from Kane, PA ? You're probably in the safest county in the US of A
  3. You must be glued to your television and internet through this whole thing...
  4. I imagine Carter in Josie's gym, stuck mid air with a sash wrapped around his lower pelvis ??
  5. That may be wise, or at least check your tires for any issues that will go into the tube. We'll coordinate something soon when the warm stuff is here to stay
  6. If you guys would like to, I would love to meet up for a ride this summer, we could take the bikes out and make a pit stop for wings and brews once the wold normalizes What's bugging ya that's keeping you from riding? Also it's amazing how quick it is to take care of bike issues now, with quick release wheels and etc. Ya know, as long as you prepare ??
  7. I got screwed with the thinking that it's just a short ride, still sucked ??
  8. This is very true, I wonder if we were a top team if the information stream of analytics would be so up front. I do appreciate the work of everyone here that puts the work in, hell, I think these posters put more worknin than those that work for the sabres. But at a certain point it's almost like being back in college and looking at work instead of enjoying the sport
  9. Analytics and metrics have done more harm for the world than good, especially in sports. It takes away the joy from watching the game. I want to see the game and go "man that player sucks or is good" and leave it at that, I don't care what his XGF or corsi or what his Thursday afternoon stretching routine is. The fact we've been so bad, I think fuels the fire of why therefore increasing our want to know more of why. It's as simple as we don't have good enough players, not about analytics.
  10. I went out yesterday before work for a bike ride, planned on 15 miles or so, I was staying in town at the hotel, it was chilly out. I wore my bike shorts and my jersey with a fleece over it. Ok a little cold but while moving I stay fairly warm.. Until 7.5 miles in, I get a flat, I'm in the middle of nowhere and don't have a spare tube or tire levers, etc... The people I usually call or message aren't up yet, so as I'm trying to get I figure it out it starts pouring and the wind picks up, I'm freezing. I started walking the bike back toward the hotel, about an hour later someone comes and grabs me.... I head into work an icicle
  11. As soon as we have one winning (playoff) season, I assume all this will go away.
  12. This is true, I just think it is so far down the pipe that it's nearly impossible to turn around. I just know the science behind the medicine pretty well, a lot of the other stuff is over my head, and I'm certainly not getting an MBA anytime soon lol. I think the chances of health care changes hinge on a 3rd party being elected.... Obviously this is never going to happen and I want to Bring this back to Covid and Healthcare (so no political run offs from this please)
  13. I don't know about that, have you ever seen an itemized bill for a patient, it's absurd, 30 bucks for napkins, 185$ for fuel for an ambulance ride that goes 4 miles, etc. A lot of that goes up the chain but the providers do benefit with a decent lifestyle. In the face of a pandemic, those costs haven't changed, I've actually seen instances of price gouging from some companies on supplies (although, there has been some benevolence as well).
  14. A massive overhaul is dearly needed in the way we deliver Healthcare, it's been very broken for a long time.... But as long as insurance companies, lobbying and medicaid/Medicare are running the show, we are never going to see enough reform needed. I have next to 0% faith that we could even imagine going to a universal type system in our history. I wish there was an easy answer to fixing it all, but there are so many layers and the changes would come at the cost of health care providers making much much less than they are accustomed to. This would then have to be tied into the legalities that also come with modern health care. Either way, I would be willing to take a fairly decent pay cut to make the system better, I just don't think a majority would agree with that.
  15. I once in my youth, stole my friends father's bottle of knob creek, we thought we were badass. We mixed it with root beet and I dubbed the drink "A ***** knob" Now in my more matured age, I realized we ruined a very good bottle with a mixer.
  16. But yet there is no mass hysteria there, people are enjoying their lives still.
  17. With China, I don't know if we'll ever know what really happened. With Italy, probably. I had no cell service/internet access in the beginning of this whole mess so I didn't pay much attention. I would like to give a better answer, but sadly I cannot
  18. The fact that I'm in this field has sadly chipped away at me into a person with this take. I Iove science, I think it's useful and interesting, but it still has its flaws. We're overpopulated to the point of ruining our air and land resources but let's go ahead and give handouts to people who feel the need to pop out 12 children. And then let's quarantine them all together to make that situation even worse. @darksabrehas it right on the above post, Sweden is "thriving" because they generally are just different than us. As I have said before, I'm not going to be on the same plane or see eye to eye with the general population on this subject, and that's OK. Maybe your right and my emotion is getting the better of me, but I won't change my stance that we overreacted to a grave point on this. My hope is the economy can recover, which I'm not sure about.
  19. They're not trivial, it's still a decent amount of the population, I still think that this is a gross overreaction. Look at Sweden, they have kept the country open and people have used minimal social distancing and they're doing well. Their Healthcare system hasn't collapsed and their economy is subsequently not failing. We live in a country of skinny jeans, avocodo toast and identifying as whatever we feel like that morning as we wake up and collect govt money. We get offended and scared by everything. It's no surprise this virus has us running around in fear and driving alone in the car with N95 Masks.
  20. How many people died in January and February before we called it Covid?
  21. Gout be damned, so help me God, ill come within 5 ft of you
  22. Breaking news: Flu symptoms added by the CDC. Why don't they just say, if you have any symptom at all you have Covid. Toe pain, yep you have it; left knee throbbing, yep quarantine yourself
  23. This is true, I also don't have any kids/real family to think about either, so my perspective should be taken with a grain of salt for sure.
  24. Hey now, I'm a blonde, I'm not quite to the ginger pale level, maybe one notch up lol, I own sunscreen, but for some reason I forget to apply I don't get it either, it's OK for rich Joe blow to go golf, but it's not ok for me to go pitch a tent that's at least 50 feet from another site.....this whole thing was half @ssed since it started and it continues to be. Incompetence at the highest
