Tuberculosis killed 1.5 million people in 2018, yet you don't see mainstream media harping on that, because, first world. How many people here have had first hand experience with patients dying from Tuberculosis? Anyone? Probably not. This is not a very productive discussion and probably one I should forget about engaging in anymore, my views are myopic, cryptic, unpopular, whatever expression, etc. They may be harsh as well, but I'll own them. I'm currently not able to go to other countries to help other people who are dying of disease(s) that they have 0% chance of preventing because of a disease here that mainly wouldn't be as bad if we weren't selfish, fat, pieces of American embodiment. I love philanthropy, I love working in places that need it. I'm sure I belong in another country and I hope one day that I'll make that happen, until then I'll be a bit bitter, annoyed and frankly upset about this whole situation. Through text, it probably comes off harsher than I would in person, a price to pay of the electronic age I suppose. I am probably done in this particular thread from this point on after tonight.

I ride motorcycles and I know the risk, if I get injured, it's on me. If you want to live very unhealthy then it comes with risks, sorry, it's just the way it is.

There's clearly more than just the medicine involved here, this isn't the thread to get into that. Some of the information has been haphazard at best. Some I understand, as it's a best hypothesis in an unknown territory, but some are just plain wrong. I can literally fly to south America with no safeguards in place, no quarantine, no testing, etc.... But if I drive to Virginia or Maryland I could get into serious trouble. Make sense of that. It just further convinces me that a lot of this is window dressing.

There is absolutley zero percent trust in those people, simple answer. Right or wrong, those in charge have lost the trust of much of the public. For the record, many Healthcare professionals share my stance on this, not all, but an overwhelming majority share similar thoughts as I.

What a jump eh.... Many people simply choose to not take care of themselves, I literally saw a man walking on the sidewalk earlier with a mask on, by himself.... But a nice lit cigarette dangling out of the side of it, overweight and basically a ticking time bomb for anything viral/bacterial to take him out. Why the hell does this person care about Covid when he is clearly slowly killing himself daily. Now, Take this and multiply it by thousands and that's basically a day in the medical field in the United States. All of these people afraid of Covid but not the Coronary artery disease, diabetes, COPD, Hypertension, hyperlipidemia, etc that they worked themselves in to. Sure there are some unfortunate that have bad genetic luck and autoimmune disease and that is sad and unfortunate. But many don't care until something comes up such as Covid. You say they don't really count, and I say it's a case of a boy crying wolf.

I don't follow mainstream news at all, why would I, it's all controlled every single outlet that we get is not true news. What PA said is accurate, I don't really follow the news, but to think that I have been in the field for a decade plus, dealt with pandemics in the 3rd world and have dealt with other aspects of a poor universe; to come out of that and think that I know nothing would be funny at best. I'm not the kind of man who will try and find supporting percentages/numbers and etc, I'm not an argumentative person, I'd fail as a litigator, but I've seen much much worse disease in my lifetime, I see every year people dying from worse without so much as a peep in the "news" so color me shaded. All these numbers are doing are promoting fear, and we are eating it up so quick, we're looking like Violet from Willy Wonka. But it matters not, I have one of the least popular stances on this (though it's slowly changing) and my thoughts on it aren't going to sway anyone. So I'll just continue to add some value to this arena when I can. Also, if I die from Covid in Brazil this week you guys can have my stuff.

And I'm positive that they're all fine. So what do the numbers even mean. Zilch

If it wasn't for 1999, I wouldn't hate Dallas so much, but, 1999 happened....
-
Hate the delay of game, but at least it's consistent. Damn Dallas, I kinda hate all the teams left.
-
I'm just happy I picked the bills and was comfortable with my decision

JA still looks a hell of a lot better than Darnold
-
3 goals in 30 seconds wow
-
That was terrible
-
JA needs to stop doing these stupid things, it's been a good game overall, but those will be killer when it's a better team than the Jets.
-
I hate Dallas

Was gonna fly to Cairo next month but it would have taken 3 days of travel and really wasn't cheap, so I nixed it and booked 9 days in Puerto Rico, dirt cheap airfare and car rental... There's a cool rainforest down there I wanna check out 😂😂

Meanwhile we need a seeing eye dog

Not more, per se. Different insurance companies reimburse hospitals at a different rate, they are also experts at dodging paying 100% of the estimated cost. Based on charting, etc. For example, Blue cross may pay the hospital/group 500$ for a diagnosis of appendicitis, but for a Medicaid patient, the reimbursement may only be 35$ for the same exact work. But let's say I only chart a physical exam for 5 body sections instead of 6 that they want, now they only will pay 15$ on that same diagnosis because of some missed clicked buttons. If I put in the chart that the patient is R/O Covid due to a fever and belly pain (knowing full well it's from the appendicitis) then it automatically will get fully reimbursed at the max level because of the pandemic. Silly stuff.
-
Not that I'm aware of, from the beginning in March, hospitals were fully reimbursed for anything Covid related, even if it was just suspicion on the chart or any type of testing. I am unaware or any newer policies, but I've distanced myself from a lot of it over the last couple of months.

It's tough for me sometimes, I can't get to Africa now because of Covid, which has really bummed me out, my kiddos over there can't even get food for daily consumption and it's wearing on me a little. I suppose it just caught me the wrong way on the wrong day.
