Wait….. wasn’t it just a couple of days ago the NWS was in the pockets of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce? I suspect most of this is you playing the grumpy old man character. You are asking meteorologists to predict when an area maybe 60 miles wide is going to have mid or low atmospheric elevations see water vapor condense into microdroplets around a -1hr time window, something their models are poorly tuned to predict given their emphasis on actually impactful predictive modeling. Yes, if you want to know if it going to be party sunny within your viewing horizon around a specific, short period of time, your porch window is always going to be your most accurate tool.

Peopel who let their cats roam the neighborhood. My dog has an extremely high prey drive. She’s managed to get half a dozen squirrels and a woodchuck last Summer alone. She’s almost caught 2 cats in the backyard as well. One particular cat keeps coming back occasionally. Last week (where was the complaint thread last week?) I let her out not realizing the cat was in our fully vinyl fenced backyard. Dog caught the cat in a corner and there was a brief altercation. Cat managed to uncorner itself and was able to escape under our fence gate. No idea if the cat was hurt or not. I hope not. She did get a good cut on the dog. Fortunately no vet needed to heal it up. Ive seen the cat in our backyard twice since. Apparently, lesson not learned. I really, really don’t want someone’s pet to get hurt. Or worse. If you won’t keep your cat where it is safe and healthy, don’t own a ***** cat, please.

Running the goalie situation back is inherently risky. Given the state of this franchise, I think it is resources well spent to de-risk it.

This part wasnt tactically played well. “How many proven NHL backups will be interested in coming here knowing what the Sabres feel about Levi?” We had an unproven guy that was publicly given the keys to the team, and one of the challenges became, noone will sign on with him here. The GM flat out played the goalie situation poorly.

The forecast discussion page on the NWS site is literally just that, a discussion. Sometimes the forecasters contradict each other based on their reading of the model ouputs. There was a meteorologist that retired last year, I think, that was particularly open in his discussions. That is a nerd page.

It’s a problem of Buffalo’s creation. I think getting goalie depth right is a basic GM responsibility. He’s on his third swing at it now. VSTOL performance is required now. The long runway is long gone.

Noone thought Gretzky’s records could be broken. I wanna see this one broken. There is little that is more entertaining generally than a good record chase. I’m not sure Ovie has 2 more good seasons in him to get it done. His skating is rapidly leaving him. But I’ll watch and hope just for the entertainment value. Regarding the next player to break it, don’t underestimate Matthews. That guy is a goal scoring machine. If he keeps it up into his mid 30s he’ll be right there.

Sabres had same lottery chances as P burgh that year. I think there may have been a 3rd team as well, but not sure.
