I blame the whiskey.

These two things are not the same.

UPDATE: Sam Reinhart signs 2-year extension -- $3.65MM per year
Weave replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
The hell? The Sharp comparison was made by me in his full rookie year. You may have jumped on, but it wasn't an original thought of yours. -
Agreed. The velocity is impressive. I said out loud “WOW” several times at the passes he threw.

Have we had a preseason game post-Kelly where the QB's looked decent? Cuz all 3 looked decent. I can see where Allen gets his rep re: accuracy, but man that kid can chuck a football.

The hives are all the way up both legs now, and I have patches on the inside of both arms and on my abdomen. Torture.

Broke two ribs doing something really stupid 10 years ago. It'll take 1-2 months to heal, but it will hurt every time you laugh or cough hard for another 6 months past that. I had twinges of pain up to 1 year after I broke them. Get used to that recliner for a bit. Laying downa nd stretching your rib cage will be excruciating for a while. Some truthiness here.

Allergic reaction to the antibiotic that I am (was, now) taking. The itching is driving me nuts. Can’t dose with Benadryl at work. That stuff throws me for a loop and I need to get work done. I’ll sleep good with 2 Benadryls down my gullet, but I’m being tortured right now.

Didn’t we have basically the same stat 2 yrs ago?
-
Really? I’ve been using that for several season now. You say IQ, I say difference in skills.
-
That is the exact argument I used to explain Kane’s insistance on not passing. He was so used to having to carry the freight that he couldn’t turn it off when he didn’t need to anymore. Instead he gets labeled low IQ.
-
What, noone wants to label the Tankfruit as a low hockey IQ player like the other puck hog on the team? #maybehalfserious

Wildcard, you and I are on the same page. I don’t value it enough to pay for it. If it were free, would I read the articles? Sure, sometimes. But I get all the info I need (and want, really) now. I’m not interested in paying for more. Or maybe I just hate journalists getting paid. *eyeroll*

No. It means I don’t find it important enough in my life to spend money on it.

Dahlin and Mittelstadt Playing in The Fattey League Tonight.
Weave replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
“The Fatty League” Buncha dope smokin’, guitar playin, Drew Stafford types. We’re screwed. -
Garbage day is today. This morning when I left for work there was someone else’s garbage bags and recycleables added to our trash cans. Easily triple what we had put out there. Enough that I am not sure the trash collectors will take it all as we are limited in the amount of trash that they will pick up. One of our other neighbors appeared to have the same thing happen. No new neighbors that just moved in that I am aware of. WTH?

If Skinner proves to be a good 1st line winger, I think you have to find a way to sign him. You don’t let those guys go hoping your prospect pool fills the hole. Genuine 1st line wingers are too few in number to expect that. Your prospect poool fills in the other lines with revolving, inexpensive talent on a regualt basis.

I hate this argument. We didn't exactly do great when Jack was here either. If he's an upgrade over his replacement, he's worth keeping around.

The name Scott Arniel jumped in my head because the stats Dudacek posted reminded me of an article in The Hockey News back when Arniel was with Buffalo (or maybe after we moved him, I don't remember that detail). The article was titled "Mr. Average". The article described a bunch of stats that showed Arniel to be average in a bunch of league categories, right down to number of times traded. He was essentially the living embodiment of an avergae NHL player. Seems Sobotka and Berglund are cut from the same cloth.

You probably say SHedule too.

Patrick and Teppo were able to live on in NHL eternity because they were sublime skaters and that skill doesn't degrade quite like the other skills needed to play at a high level. It is interesting that today's game is much more of a fast paced, skaters game but yet, there aren't any of those old timers around that can still play at a high level because of their skating. Maybe the rest of the league has caught up to them so Teppo or Patrick wouldn't be able to play into their AARP years in the league today? Maybe Teppo was the last of his kind. Maybe it is unreasonable to expect that kind of mentor anymore?

Should Jbot Try To Add to This Roster Before Next Season?
Weave replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
No worry. I'll just continue to look down my nose at you. -
I read an article over the weekend that mentioned one or two items that didn't cast him as someone who made good decisions. An assault investigation was one. In fairness, I don't remember the details and don't have the motivation to try and track it down either. I think he article showed up on my twitter feed and I'm not chasing that rabbit. I do recall thinking as I was reading that this didn't seem like a Coach Process kind of player. Just read Wawroww's article from today. A team curfew violation that resulted in him being sent home last season was another. I'd think that would rate pretty low with team management these days.
