Give 'em 3rd line minutes and I'm in.
-
Regardless of whether he plays center or wing, Casey needs vets on his line, not kids. An all kid line would be disastrous IMO.

It's damned near unanimous so far.

I am bummed that kayak fishing season is rapidly coming to a close. Water temps are dropping fast. I've enjoyed fishing out of that kayak immensely this summer. I'm debating investing in a dry suit to extend the season....

The home and home against Toronto has me convinced that we are still a fair amount behind them overall. I'm less concerned about goaltending. Still concerned about our ability to deal with a fast, hard forechecking team in out own zone. And I think we are going to live and die by the production of Jack's line. Secondary scoring is going to be a problem. But I think the bottom six is going to be NHL caliber,.

Calgary’s isn’t a copy of what others have done. It is a copy of what their sweaters used to actually look like. It’s a historical sweater. A throwback.

I agree, but the reality is, JBotts went all in with Casey, and I'm just not seeing the evidence that he is ready to be leaned on. IMO best case scenario is that he does OK as secondary/tertiary scoring in a low minutes, protected role, similar to how Roy was started, but the line will probably need to be less featured than Roy was.

I think we are always going to say that about Justin Bailey. I like the kid, but I think he's going to be a fringe player.
-
That's the definition of throwback isn't? You're imitating what's already been done. It's not supposed to be creative, it's supposed to be imitative.

Based on what I've seen to date, my prediction is something like: Sheary - Eichel - Sam Skinner - Berglund - Thompson ERod - Casey - Okposo Girgenson - Sobotka - Pominville with significant up and down between the bottom 6, and ERod generally through the lineup. Assuming Casey centering that 3rd line, I expect alot of games where his line gets fewer minutes than a 4th line constructed to be a "responsible" line. This season is going to be a struggle while Casey learns to play at this level. He needs to hit his projection or we're going to be a 1 line team going forward.

And Filipino guy never knew why.

Noone has ever said we need slow, clumsy vets. Noone.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He still has to prove he can play at 2nd line center level first. ROR is a middle 3rd of the league 1st line center.

Sabres v Tornato 9/21/18... blow leaves blow at 7:30p

I agree with both. Im guessing we’ll see Jack get the big minutes, Sobotka or Berglund getting the hard minutes and Casey getting equivalent of 3rd line or even 4th line minutes with veteran, responsible wingers. If Casey gets played 2nd line minutes it might get ugly for awhile. -
Even if Casey is in Buffalo a Jack injury puts us at tank level center performance. It’s why trading ROR carried significant risk.

If you don’t leave me a voicemail there is a good chance I’m not calling you back. I am probably assuming your call wasn’t terribly important if you don’t leave a message. Email serves the same function, but if you’re aleady on the phone anyway....

I like that Tornato looks like tomato. -
Before the economic crash in 08 my wife and I owned a place in the Institute. The Chautauqua Golf Club was my favorite place to play. Haven’t played there since we had to sell the place. I don’t golf at all anymore. Tendonitis problems in both wrists. I guess it gives me more time to fish.

In person needed for 5 games +. But that includes preseason. CBA doesn't differentiate for disciplinary purposes. Just like it doesn't differentiate with playoff games.

LOL Harbor House is/was a family diner style joint. Nothing fancy but the name.

Lunch at the Harbor House for us.

They'd have to change the rules in the CBA.

It was until my afternoon became occupied with work Webex's. So much for a vacation day.....

Yup. I'm 100% certain that my employer only cares about my health and well being as it relates to their bottom line. And that's fine. I only care about their bottom line as it relates to my health and well being. And this is exactly why we still need labor being represented in politics.

My wife hasn't seen my chin in 25 yrs. FTR, that's not a complaint.
