  1. This seems like the least of any problems the team might have. And aren't we starting to get some scuttlebutt around the league that Ullmark is seen as more of a good backup/fringe starter type goalie than a potential all star?
  2. IMO the last thing a team with a young core needs is rook behind the bench. It might make sense with a more veteran squad to bring in fresh ideas because the vets on the ice can provide good feedback to the coach regarding what will/won't work. A rookie coach won't get that much needed benefit from a young team.
  3. No more rookie NHL head coaches, please.
  4. So, we drafted and traded to build an entire team of below NHL average intelligence? I don't buy it. Every team runs a system, and most team systems have very similar elements to them. Phyllis isn't trying to install a genius level system here. I seriously doubt it requires any more thought on the players parts than any other team system.
  5. Kane was a #2 unit PP guy, not exactly key, but he was a key PKer for us and so was ROR. Neither were replaced at the level of performance they both had on the PK, and you are correct, ROR was "replaced" on the PP but it isn't working out to date.
  6. Is Skinner a PKer? I haven't noticed that?
  7. Well, we dumped our most effective PK'ers (Kane and ROR), and one of our key PP contributors. Neither were replaced at that level. Can you smell that, Mr. Anderson? It's the smell of inevitability.
  8. In the context of the title..... You aren't picking winning Sabres numbers.
  9. They're all losers.
  10. Now I know what Eleven watching a meme gif feels like.
  11. This might be news to some posters here.
  12. *feels left out of the ROR angst*
  13. I don't agree with that. Getting to the net with traffic is key to consistent scoring in all cases, not just for bombing away from the points.
  14. They don't get paid enough to make it a career. They have second jobs. Not unlike professional indoor lacrosse (or at least the way it used to be).
  15. #settingthemarket. Here we go!
  16. Oh, man. She brought a selfie stick..... And nice fish!
  17. Yasiel Puig is having fun with the baseball.
  18. We can only hope.
  19. I think they are pretty comparable at similar points in their careers. Pierre was putting up points, but it was a different league then. I think the concerns re: leadership and saviorship at that point are pretty comparable though.
  20. There have been warning signs of this for 3 years. I think there is reason for concern here. Instead of being up there with Gil, he may be somewhere between Gil and Pierre. Hopefully, much closer to Gil, but the jury is still out.
  21. I don't think it is fear. I do think it is his personality though. He's not the raw leader and super competitor we made him out to be leading up to the draft. Truthiness.
  22. I think this team needs a seasoned second line center that can put up 50-60 points, take the hard minutes against the other teams top line to free up Jacks line, and dominate face offs in key situations. I wonder if we could trade Berglund, Sobotka, and Thompson for one. Nah. Thats foolish thinking.
  23. IMO powerplay is where we miss ROR the most. He was an excellent distributor and was puck hawk in the O zone on the powerplay. Huge loss there.
  24. You have absolutely zero to apologize for. Your opinion has its place here as much as anyone’s. If someone gets upset because they have read your thoughts on the interwebs, it’s on them not you. It’s not like you’ve put a personal attack on anyone.
  25. Chain store selection sucks for the most part. Go find a good shoe retailer. Charlotte is a pretty big city. They should have at least one. There are plenty of brands between Clark's and Allen Edmonds that offer something that will fit you. Get professionally sized. You might have to order something in, but a good retailer will order proper fitting shoes for you. I've become a fan of Johnston and Murphy. IMO they are a step up from Clark's, but much closer in pricing to Clark's than AE.
