Fall salmon fishing is fun. Big, big fish on relatively light tackle. The crowds can make it tough sometimes.
-
Therein lies the biggest issue I had with how we got to where we are. The expectation of entertaining at a very minimum was lost. And now the team is struggling to get back to at least that minimum level on a consistent basis.

I pretty much fully agree with the substance of this last post. I think if Ullmark would have shown himself to be the better goalie he’d be the starter now regardless of any preconceived notions. And I think Hutton getting the starting job (given that Ullmark has not yet demonstrated that he’s the better goalie) makes the most sense given the reasons you’ve listed. But I also believe that playing Ullmark after a shutout win is a very defensible position. Granted, not playing him after the shutout is also very defensible.

Nice fish. I haven’t fished an Erie trib in years. Ontario is more convenient to me now. The nice thing about Erie tribs is they don’t get the crazy salmon crowds that the Ontario tribs get right now.

Took some heat on here last season after suggesting this.

Off Erie or Ontario?

You won’t regret cord cutting. And youtube has replaced most of the TV time I had.

I was definitely gone before Tops moved. But I was still in the neighborhood in 88. Moved in 90.
-
I read it as 2 calling for Ullmark to be the starter and a few more that wanted him to get another start after the shutout. And the 2nd part is definitely worthy of debate.

Let's not get carried away here.

Questioning fanhood and suggesting posters go away because they fan differently than you do is stupid. Its also childish. And I know a thing or four about being childish.

GDT: Sabres at LA Kings 10/20/18 3:30PM MSG, WGR

Somewhere on a Kings forum someone psoted the same about the Sabres. -
Why in the hell don't I remember that? EDIT- my wife, who is also from that area, does not remember a Mighty Taco across from the old Ground Round while we were dating. Could it be that it opened 1990ish when we were already moved out? Our late night/early morning Mighty Taco experiences were typically at the Union Road location near the Town and Country restaurant, where Guitar Center is now.
-
Lol You’re younger than me. No Mighty on French Road in my day. The Ground Round building was still standing on that site.
-
Oh man, that's my old stomping grounds. If my head cold makes a big reversal tomorrow, I'm in. I'll text if I can do it.

Judging by your avatar, you need to get you to the rod and gun club thread.

Johnny Rain Cloud: The Sabres Need More Scoring and Scorers!
Weave replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
The problem is too many Thursday games. Buffalo Sabres Stats @SabresStats 22m22 minutes ago Want a little bit of good news for the #Sabres next game? It’s not on a Thursday! So far this season, BUF is 0-3 on Thursdays and have been outscored 15-2!! On every other day of the week they are 3-1 and have outscored their opponents 11-7. -
This seems like the least of any problems the team might have. And aren't we starting to get some scuttlebutt around the league that Ullmark is seen as more of a good backup/fringe starter type goalie than a potential all star?
-
IMO the last thing a team with a young core needs is rook behind the bench. It might make sense with a more veteran squad to bring in fresh ideas because the vets on the ice can provide good feedback to the coach regarding what will/won't work. A rookie coach won't get that much needed benefit from a young team.
-
No more rookie NHL head coaches, please.

So, we drafted and traded to build an entire team of below NHL average intelligence? I don't buy it. Every team runs a system, and most team systems have very similar elements to them. Phyllis isn't trying to install a genius level system here. I seriously doubt it requires any more thought on the players parts than any other team system. -
Kane was a #2 unit PP guy, not exactly key, but he was a key PKer for us and so was ROR. Neither were replaced at the level of performance they both had on the PK, and you are correct, ROR was "replaced" on the PP but it isn't working out to date.
-
Is Skinner a PKer? I haven't noticed that?
-
Well, we dumped our most effective PK'ers (Kane and ROR), and one of our key PP contributors. Neither were replaced at that level. Can you smell that, Mr. Anderson? It's the smell of inevitability.
