  1. Interesting that the title says scoring at highest level since 95-96. That timeframe was ruled by New Jersey and the trap. It was the dead puck era. Crazy that the scoring got worse after that.
  2. I can see Spiderman pulling a Weekend at Stan’s.
  3. I don’t think the change is about Pommers energy level. I think this change is as simple as, Sam has a hot hand and has earned ice time on the top line. As soon as he cools off he’ll be playing with Erod again and the next hot RW will get a crack.
  4. I’m thinking we all have forgotten how good average looks compared to the last 5 seasons.
  5. I can’t think of a better “grow from within” opportunity than a round of playoffs. If a 2C better assured that growth opportunity, then I think it is worth one of those 1st rd picks.
  6. Bills win this on a defensive touchdown.
  7. I've been known to top a small bowl of cream of wheat with an over easy egg. Break the yolk and mix it into the cream of wheat and it is delicious fatty rich. I think it is time. Let's hear everyone's top 3 breakfast meals. For me it is: 1. Huevos Rancheros I make mine with ground chorizo sauteed until just crispy, refried beans, 2 over easy eggs, and 2 fried corn tortilla shells. Top with salsa. 2. Corned beef hash and eggs. IMO the best part of St. Paddy's day is leftover corned beef hash the next morning for breakfast. Over easy eggs to accompany. 3. Creole style shrimp and grits. Bloody Mary to go along with. Vacation breakfast supreme. Honorable mention to an authentic French Omelet. I've managed to get this technique down fairly well. It does take practice to get it right, but when done right the eggs are silky smooth. Almost custard like.
  8. When I do grits for breakfast, it's savory anyway. Not a sweet breakfast guy at all. Which probably explains my aversion to pancakes.
  9. Contact info? ? the downside of grits is its a solid 30 minutes or more to get them to the right consistency. I rarely make them for breakfast because of the time involved. It's basically southern polenta. Have you ever had gritty polenta? For a dinner preparation I'll spend the time. And it comes out creamy and delicious.
  10. You're undercooking them.
  11. Grits are awesome. I'll agree on most pancakes being underwhelming.
  12. I'm betting that was in response to some taunting. Mitts got the last laugh.
  13. Watched the first 2 periods at a bar. Grocery shopped during period 3 and most of overtime. Didn't expect that ending when I left the bar.
  14. Too many guys sitting in Rochester? This doesn't bother me.
  15. Not for nothing, if that didn't go smoothly and the first week at home didn't go smoothly, a week without playing could have been to allow them to get their hands around whatever was happening.
  16. LOL But that wan't my point. Phil might just see the potential in this kid but maybe he wasn't doing something Phil wanted him doing. He obviously did something right in Montreal. We're quick to call Housley stupid because he's sitting someone we don't want sitting. The team is doing well. Maybe there is a method to what is being seen as madness. That's not an indictment of Erod, if anything it's more a postive take on Housley.
  17. My post wasn't what I think should happen. My post was what the article was stating should happen. I mostly agree with your point, family and people closer to the kids should be leading, and Jack's impact is likely minimal. But there is no harm in Jack trying to send a message either. I don't think Jack has any responsibility to "make it right" or send a message or whatever. And I don't think the article conveyed that he has a responsiblity. But the author would certainly like these stars to step up and try and change teh culture. I'm OK with that.
  18. Devil's advocate...... He sat because Phil saw something he didn't like and the message was well received, hence the performance against Montreal. All these opinions are assumptions that Housley doesn't know what he is doing. This teaming is playing like it hasn't in nearly a decade. Maybe Phil is doing something right here....
  19. That is hysterical.
  20. *so hungry for a brat now*
  21. Didn't see that article as an attack on Eichel at all. To me, it read as an example of a culture that is in need of changing, nothing more. It even said so right in the article. It's pretty clear to me that what the article is trying to do is get more high profile athletes like Eichel to publicly try to change the culture of boys using that kind of language. Again, it says that very thing right in the article. You don't even have to infer it. There is irony in being so sensitive that your first reaction is to express how overly sensitive you think this article was.
  22. Very Black Keyes. Like it alot.
  23. An MBA isn’t interested in fan entertainment or winning playoff games. You are going to have contracts that overpay in their later years if you want to keep some of the highest skilled players in the league. The trick is making sure those contracts aren’t paid to guys that aren’t difference makers. I think Skinner is a difference maker. I don’t care if he’s here 2 seasons too long if he’s getting me out of my seat for the first 5.
  24. Old used cars in the time range you've often waxed poetic about are in the era of reliability problems. Stop buying 1995 old man vehicles. Here's my complaint. Darkness. I wake up and drive to work in the dark. I drive home from work in the dark. I hate the Winter time change. At least two weeks ago I had sun in my eyes on the way home. Now I have high beam headlights in my eyes on the way home.
  25. Get well, Derrico. Hopefully this shall pass. Dark, regarding used cars. YDIW. I don't know how you are picking what you are picking, but YDIW. I worked in the auto industry for 25 years. Worked for tier 1 suppliers and directly with the largest automaker in the world. I've always had an employee discount or supplier discount available to me. And I've never owned a new car. Never. And it's been a couple of decades since my vehicle has stranded me or failed in a way that soured me on the vehicle.
