I'm not sure why you're trying to engage me. It wasn't my point being made.

I can't believe how many people haven't figured out Pi yet. He's insinuating that the kid is gonna jump ship.
-
Bailey is barely a good AHLer at this point. He's seeing 4th line duty all too often.

I’m going to guess that the idea of Casey on the ice against the opposing teams best offensive players scares PH as mich as it scares me.

That doesn’t help me...

And Ellie is still in the lineup....

Mailing in has implications that weren't intended. Call it for lack of a better phrase.

Jbot Do Something Already - 4 Saving the Playoffs Edition

That would be a home run. Not sure what it would take to get him, or what our cap implications would be though -
I totally disagree with this. We were not playing complete games during that streak, and I mentioned it would bite us as the season progressed. Outside of a couple of games against Tampa and Toronto, they were mailing in huge sections of games but still managing to win. Now, their current performance is more the result of missing Eichel, Girgensons, and Berglund, but the team that was on a 10 game win streak was going to have difficulty in the middle to late 3rd of the season anyway because they weren't consistent with the way they were playing.

This about sums it up. Berglund is a bigger hole than we want to admit. Bergkund and Girgensons is a bigger hole still. Berglund, Girgensons, and Eichel is probably insurmountable. And even with all 3 in the lineup we still were deficient at center. A good GM finds ways to fix the center hole without handcuffing the future. I'm not interested in using the future as an excuse to reduce the holes today. Good teams find ways to do it all the time. -

I did read it. The context wasn't obvious. The post fell in a conversation about calling kids up to change team performance. Ugh. I don't want to think about the possibility of yet another lost season....

SabreSpace Goal of the Year Semis: Risto (Sharks) vs. Jack

If they aren’t improving something that is already on the roster, what is the point of calling them up?
-
What role are these two better at than anyone wearing a s=Sabres sweater already?
-
I think that center is the key to possession, and with that improved shots against go down.
-
Nylander just starting to show signs of consistency in his career. Malone 1G+5A in his last 17 games Asplund 1G+6A in his last 19 games Rochester callups aren't fixing anything.

The Sabres aren't lacking compete. They are lacking centers, and IMO they are also lacking a bit of sand. But I don't think the lack of sand is what has caused their fall from grace, it is their lack of centers. I do think that the lack of sand will become quite evident should they make the playoffs though. The current results were to be expected. Despite the early successes, they weren't often playing 60 minute games. They were either breaking out into an early lead and hanging on, or playing cardiac kids. There were many 20-30 minute games in that stretch. Once the season tightened up and teams started focusing on playoff standings it was inevitable that the incomplete games would catch up to them. Add in an injury to the only top 6 center on the team, and they've been fortunate to keep scores close. We really need another center on this team badly.

Saw this on twitter.... Per IIHF rules - player can't be in the crease. As long as opponent is in the goalies zone (Blue zone) play has to be blown dead. Didn't happen but ref waived it off. Correct call.

I had seasons in that section. 1st row. -
Every team will cycle downward. It is inevitable. Chicago has several cups for their effort. If you are going to dis what Chicago is, you are ignoring the upside prior to the inevitable downturn.
