OK, "all" wasn't the right word.

I'm not concerned about term with Skinner. The guys that play at a high level into their 30's all have one common trait. extremely good skaters. Barring injury, Skinner at 33 will be fine.

Ted's has lousy seafood? Whodathunkit?

An NHL player from the 70s had a different skill set than one today. As Eleven put so well, the rules and officiating were very different then. I suspect that the college kids of today have never played against the near sociopaths that roamed the ice in the 70s. The rules would determin the winner as much as anything else.

This sounds just inappropriate enough to be tempting.

I may have to stop visiting gameday threads.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

I never thought I'd see the day that Republicans, let alone conservatives, would support someone with the agenda and history Trump has. It genuinely surprises me with every announcement, every day. -

Between tariffs, industry subsidies, immigration, executive order love, dictator love, porn star love, and bump stock bans, I can't get over anyone labeling Trump conservative. I mean, other than nominate anti abortion judges, what is conservative about what he's accomplished? And let's face it, after 45 years of legal precedent, going after Roe v Wade from the bench has got to be the definition of judicial activism, a very liberal concept, so I'm not sure you can even label THAT as conservative. Conservative used to be family values, free markets, and the dignity of work. Welp, he's waged his own war on his family values, trashed the concept of free markets, and hurt entire industries, affecting peoples abilities to dignify themselves with work. The ability of people in general to be blinded by political colors genuinely surprise and shock me. -
Nevermind. Found him.

Where the heck has PA been? Did we lose another one?

Trade deficit announced as $100 billion higher than when Trump first took office. Another victory for tariffs, eh? -
If that-is JBotts evaluation, I tend to think he is way more right than wrong. Where I do think he is wrong is, allowing a system that we don’t have the horses for to be fully implemented. We have seen the effect that the frustration of extended losing has on good veteran players, let alone rookies and young stars. IMO the team would be doing much more good for the future by partially implementing the system but still using significant elements of play that are better suited to the personnel we do have. The confidence, winning and esprit de corp can be built upon as the team gets further molded.

My wife slipped in the driveway and hit her head today after work. She seems OK though. No concussion symptoms. I thought I was the one with the thick head. This Winter can end, like yesterday.

Attitude? Yeesh. It's a real stretch to say we can see a whole new attitude here. I mean, the alcoholic goalie is gone, but Eeyore simply has a younger face now.

If anything, my memory might be longer than yours. This is quite a familiar feeling. 3rd worst in the conference since The Streak ended. We're talking marginal improvement here.

I'm not seeing it.

Cheese and rice. 3rd worst in the conference.

How the Hell are the Bruins the 3rd best team in hockey right now??

And there is that word. Culture. They ship out guys like Kessel and Thornton because they don't quite measure up. And we plan to lose for 5 seasons and wonder why the losing doesn't turn off. -
I agree. I seem to recall he was on the recieving end of quite a few secondary assists. There is nothing wrong with that. He was part of scoring plays. But I don't recall him being the primary playmaker either.

If we are to assume that this season was a season in which they were actually trying to win more games than they lost (and as far as I can tell, that was a legit goal for this season), then we can also assume that JBott did perceive value in Sobotka and Berglund. Given that, it is more than fair to question his ability to evaluate players.

Out of curiosity, what was your previous screen name?

I'm pretty sure I said that.
