Connor Sheary seems to have showed up tonight. Not sure anyone else has. -

There is nothing in Ristos game that I’ve noticed that screamed winger. He seems to do his best work in open ice, with room, and on the rush. IMO his worst work is down low and when he’s confined. I don’t see that translating well to the wing.

Great October but..... What Does November Hold?

This team has simply improved its depth to the point that Erod finally looks out of space. He's Tim Kennedy. Nathan Gerbe. Jason Dawe. Dave Snuggerud.

An overseas trip and the hardest part of the schedule to date. Sub .500. But they won’t be able to afford to be much below .500 because the games will really start tightening up right about end of November. -

Highly entertaining game. But I also thought AZ got the better of the play overall. Sabres had their moments (hemming AZ in their zone for 2 full shifts). But overall, AZ deserved that win. I think we are seeing more and more that teams are going to full court press the Sabres until they show they can counter it. This team doesn’t do well when pressured. I get the sense that RaKru is trying to make teams back off with the threat of the long pass. We connected on those early in the season, but aren’t connecting on them often enough now. -
Mal Davis, Claude Verret, and Gates Orlando !

I've got Foligno ahead of Hawerchuck, but only because of longevity. IN an era that included Bob Gainey, GOAT defensive center, Ramsay and Luce both won Selke awards. And both put up points. I've got both ahead of Peca as 2 way centers, but it's really close. Peca was the Ryan O'Reilly of his day. Out of what's left after this vote is closed, it's criminal if Turgeon and Hawerchuck aren't in. And after that I think Vanek has to get serious attention.

If you don't have other priorities right now I've lost all hope in the world.

It's in my repertoire. Then again, my plan to not outlive my retirement savings includes, butter, bacon, and bourbon.

And the best part is, you'll be able to look upon this and remember for many, many years in the future. Glad you're feeling better. -
A link to an article penned by a doctor on a legit world cancer research organization website doesn't instill confidence in credibility? Sure, I'll bet you'd have a better background for interpreting the study results. The world has gone haywire. We doubt legitimate scientists because we don't like what they tell us.

I don't know. I've met you IRL. Your eyes are brown. ?

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
Weave replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
The irony is, when it comes to fiscal policy, the Dems are the ones acting as conservatives. Deficits have ballooned under the last 2 Republican presidencies and reduced under the last 2 Democrats. I wonder if we are in the midst of another flip flop of the parties similar to when the Dixiecrats started bailing on the Dems during the Civil Rights era, or even more appropriately, when the Democrats in the 1860's opposed a huge expansion of Federal power that the Republicans oversaw. https://www.history.com/news/how-the-party-of-lincoln-won-over-the-once-democratic-south https://www.livescience.com/34241-democratic-republican-parties-switch-platforms.html More and more Donald Trump looks to be leading a change in the Republican party, going back to the days when the GOP was formed to fight immigration and expand the government through post war Reconstruction and policies favorable to the banks and railroads at the expense of western farmers. -

I no longer understand the behavior of our Republican representatives. I generally understand the tactical movements in government. I may not agree with their use, but I understand why. The behavior that has been evolving over the last couple of years, I don’t understand. And especially so yesterday. And all this is being done to keep a man in office that is rapidly losing all support except for a relatively small base. The party is acting very desperately. As if there is no hope if Trump is successfully impeached. Well..... if this sort of thing continues, there will probably be the political reckoning that they fear. -
How is Tage looking?

Yup. Captains are not made on calm seas.

I thought he played well last night. Hope its the start of a trend.

I think we won’t know what we have until about mid December. The games tighten up considerably and teams know other teams tendencies by then. If we’re still playing consistently well and winning in the depths of the holiday lead-in we’ll be able to make some sound judgements re: the team and coach.
