  1. I know I read it on here. Someone referred to him as 3 kids in a trench coat or something like that.
  2. Wait…. I thought Stanley Cups matter.
  3. Fl teammates calling out Okie’s leadership. But he wasn’t a good enough leader here to some. He was always good enough as a leader and a 4th line player and this series proved it.
  4. Well, the first sentence to start this conversation included, “to the haters” so you may not have been the audience.
  5. He’s good enough for a Stanley Cup team to dress and play in the most critical game of the season. I thought that was obvious.
  6. I don’t know the roster well enough to say. This is tonight’s projected lineup.
  7. And when the chips are down they went with KO over someone who was there for the season. Telling.
  8. I just want to say to all the haters, a team in the Stanley Cup finals has decided that KO is important enough to the team to be in the lineup in game 7. Message over.
  9. I’ve never made aglio e olio, but I trust America’s Test Kitchen to come up with a good version of it. I know they’ve done this dish on their youtube channel. Take a look and see if you get anything out of it.
  10. The worst part is, I read this whole damned thing with the voice of 3 kids in an overcoat in my head.
  11. No hate here, but I’m not sure he has a future in Buffalo. He’s not a traditional energy guy. He doesn’t have top 6 potential given the skill and age we have already. It really comes down to timeline for team success. I don’t think the Sabres can afford to wait for him to evolve into an NHLer. Maybe he gets an opportunity on a team that doesn’t have current playoff ambitions and can let him develop in a sheltered role so he can claw out a career.
  12. We can, but we wouldn’t get what Jeannot is best at. We need a heavey-weightish presence unless we are going the pack mentality route, and right now the core is not conducive to a pack level response.
  13. Yeah this is where I am at. We’ve been on 1 failed fast track, 1 failed slow roll, and we are on yr 5 of another slow roll. When does this slow roll be deemed to have failed? Its not so much as I am out of optimism (was I ever optimistic? LOL), as much as it is I am done with pissing away seasons under the banner of “soon”. Preaching to the Thorny choir here but, no rebuild needs to take 5 years. 5 yrs should be a rebuild plus sufficient evaluation time to determine if the GMs vision is a successful path. The “patience” of this organization is beyond absurd.
  14. And a whopping increase of <5% that the pick has a cup of coffee in the NHL.
  15. You can usually reign it in. You can rarely manufacture it when it isn’t there.
  16. Since it is open now…. I have been relegated to the far reaches of the house whilst the ladies ready themselves. Soon…..
  17. Yeah, it does seem that way, doesn’t it?
  18. Since the Friday thread isn’t open…… Today is an awesome day. My son gets married today. Small ceremony followed by an old fashioned cookout at our house. The weather is looking to be fantastic. Every freaking flower in the gardens are in full bloom, which I don’t think has ever happened simultaneously. The flowering cataulpa (sp?) tree is in full bloom. Coolers of beer and wine are chilling. Steaks from Palmer’s (IYKYK) seasoned and staged. The backyard is set up and ready. And chaos in the house as the bride to be is getting ready. I’m so happy I’m even optimistic today about the Sabres and July 1.
  19. Crosby got this kind of hate right up through about the last 1/3 of his career. McDavid is breaking freaking records in these playoffs. He’s alllllll that FFS.
  20. I missed your context, and it seems you did as well with some of the replies you quoted. ”in a vacuum” is a common theme.
  21. Has anyone here said “not Skinner”?
  22. Did you think the comparison included baseball players?
  23. I think you are being more idealist than realistic. The reality is, nearly everyone makes economic priorities as part of their decision making process. The more attractive we make specific fields, the more strong candidates we get to choose from. CNA’s should be paid more. We would attract more good ones that way.
