We don’t need a messiah. We need a 2c. If 8OA can be used to get us a 2C then the asset was used wisely. Frankly, the most we can realistically expect from an 8OA is that it eventually develops into something worth the equivalent of a good 2C. If we can get that now we win based on time value of an asset.

For just a thought exercise...... Tampa would make an interesting trade partner for moving Jack if it weren’t for all those NMCs. We have Jack, who would command multiple high end players coming back, and cap space. Tampa has serious cap issues and a surplus of high end talent and they cannot afford to keep all of them. It would be a 3-4 to 1 deal and might actually result in a win-win. No I’m not going to propose anything. I have no emotional investment in the idea. Just posting a thought bubble that if Jack were to ever move, this is how it might happen and Buffalo not lose out on the deal.

I’m for moving the pick for the right player coming back. I’ll worry about depth in our development system only after we’ve got a full roster of decent NHL players on the ice. We've seen what happens when we don’t have players to slot into key positions. We end up playing kids that aren’t ready like Casey and Tage. So I’m hoping the team prioritizes filling key holes like 2C and goal and then fill the developmental system.

I agree that people traveling to open places from hotspots are a problem. I disagree that you can do it considerately. Putting someone else at unnecessary risk is pretty inconsiderate. I had to travel for business last week. I did everything according to local rules and some to an even higher standard. But If I didn’t have to go, I wouldn’t have. The considerate thing to do would be stay home. Alas, the economy is more important I guess. We’re all frustrated. Too many people everywhere not giving this virus the respect they should.
