My wife went back to work today. Her office is now fully open. Given her industry, and the number of people she has to interact with on a daily basis, we are very concerned about her getting exposed.

I wonder if those markets are so ingrained in the culture that even in a closed, authoritarian society they cannot really be shut down without significant social issues locally. And I wonder if even China has the enforcement resources to try.

Maybe over stated a bit, but yeah, the appearance is certainly there that they aren’t willing to spend lime when they first arrived. The last several posts has me pondering the future. What will the cap look like in the next few years should we see a serious recession evolve out of this Covid mess?

You get one more chance before I put you on ignore. Don’t put words in my mouth and don’t respond to things I didn’t say. I suspect it is more political than scientific and it os because of who it was reported to. Anything you want to read into it beyond that is in your head, not mine.

Your snark is wasted on me. I have no idea WTF point you’re trying to make with it. What’s my point? I thought it was fairly clear. The article stated that the results of the study were reported to Rudy Giuliani. Given that he is a non science, non medical, attorney to the President, this report sounds more political than scientific, and gets my spider sense tingling. Your last sentence is beautiful. GFY
-
And he was interviewed by Guiliani? When did Rudy become the expert and leader of this? Smells fishy.

I would add Mark Knofler of Dire Straits to that list.

Am I the only person in the world that hears how bizarre this all is and loses interest in tuning in?

Assumes we stay on course with the social distancing and travel restrictions. If I remember the article correctly, those are his best case numbers. Open the economy back up and those numbers jump.

Regarding cap space..... I’m starting to get a feeling that we may become an internal cap team in the near future. Just a feeling, fwiw. Which may reinforce the idea that trade is the most likely route to a 2C. Well, or a plan involving Kahun.

Maintenance free and there’s not much left anyway.

#2 guard on the whole thing and never look back.

The tots were much needed comfort food. And out of the oil and dosed with adobo powder, transcended the oven cooked tots of my youth. If I ever grow a pair and work for myself, a small brewery in a small town, with a small menu of twists on quick prep comfort foods will be my likely livelihood.

Perch fry, tater tots, and a Genny cream ale

Today, before the cold front showed up, the sidewalks were the busiest I've seen them in the 17yrs we've been here. You can tell everyone is itching to get out of the house.

Yup. Boston fans doused Muckler with beer the game prior. Buffalo fans returned the favor. I was there with my GF (wife now). There were pockets of Bruins fans all over and there were skirmishes all over. At one point between periods I escorted my GF to a bathroom. I waited in the little set in area for the women's bathroom. A fight broke out between a group of Sabres fans and Bruins fans right in front of the little bay I was in. The restroom door opened, I saw it was my GF, and I shut it right away as the fight was spilling into the bay/entranceway for the restroom. I had one hand on the door, keeping it closed, and the other cocked, ready to throw haymaker if I got hit. One section over from us a particluarly well juiced, and loud, group of Bruins fans got into an argument with a middle aged guy in front of them. He was there with his pre-teen son. He was mad at them for the language they were using. One of the Bruins fans kicked the guy in the head and then all hell broke loose. A huge group of security showed up and hauled them all off. The kicker showed up on the TV camera landing in the reds about 10 minutes later. He was doing a Rocky pose on the landing. Pretty sure he broke away from Security. They showed up and a Benny Hill chase ensued. It was a crazy game. Haven't seen one like that before, or since.

I was sitting in the oranges for that game. The fights in the stands while that went on was unreal.

I loved him. He was such a good victim for Kevin Maguire.

This is from the twitter account of @justinwolfers econ prof at Michigan Point is, these data show that ZERO actual economists believe that the economic costs of current anti-Covid measures exceed the benefits. NO ECONOMISTS are arguing for re-opening the economy. It's pretty rare to see this degree of consensus among econs. http://www.igmchicago.org/surveys/policy-for-the-covid-19-crisis/

And this, friends, is why the plan was deeply flawed. But, you know, narratives.
