You are not alone. I'm partial to Belgian styles as well.

This gives me a sad.

We all knew Stosh and he told all of us the same thing. Now I’m Stosh.

I don't ever remember not being a fan. I remember being told to go to bed during 1st period intermissions and being angry about it. I remember using a crystal radio I made from a Heath kit to listen to Sabres games and Leafs games. I remember Peter Puck at 1st period intermission on HNIC, the Grapevine in the second. Growing up we watched hockey every night it was televised. Favorite all time Sabre is tough. Mike Ramsey was my favorite through the 80's and into the 90's. He was just plain steady and did whatever needed to be done. Someone needed to defend Gretz? Ramsey gets the call. Someone needed to neutralize Neely? Again, Ramsey. Someone needed to get in a scrum? Ramsey will be there. Someone needed to cover up Housley's mess in the corner? Yup, Ramsey. LaFontaine and Mogilny came close to what Ramsey did to me. LaFontaine seemed too good to be true. So genuinely talented, so genuinely intense, so genuinely nice and well spoken. And that battle with Lemieux for the scoring title? Mogilny.... growing up in the middle of the Cold War, Mogilny's story, and then his on ice performance was just too cool to not fall in love with. All that talent and a giant middle finger to the USSR? Gimme some. Most exciting moment? May Day for me. Broke 10 seasons of 1st round playoff losses. Came against the hated Bruins. Brad May was still thought of as our power scoring forward. And that playoff series was INTENSE. I about lost my mind when he scored. Most frustrating... The Tank. And it's not even close. Darkest time of my fanhood knowing the team made the decision to lose on purpose for multiple seasons. I'm still bitter. I got nuthin regarding how to improve the current team. I think we may be still halfway through a bad period. We just don't have enough marketable talent to make meaningful moves without opening another hole. We're still suffering from the decision to wipe an entire NHL roster off the team. Note to Theana, this is a happy kind of thread. You want to prove you really are a super fan and not a bot or troll, lay your soul out in here. Let's see how deep the fandom goes.

Wow. I thought he was done with HC gigs. I hope he does well.

Wasn't that pretty much GMTM's stated draft philosophy in mid to late rounds?
-
Took a quick skim. Not sure how the article came to the conclusion that NHLe drafted better. I didn't see it that way in the results. Both were pretty miserable overall. Buffalo had a clear advantage in 08, 09, 12, 13 IMO.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

Probably my favorite band. I see them once each year when they swing through western NY. Check out his IMDB page. He's spent a fair amount of time in Hollywood when The Headstones took their hiatus in the 00's. -

My post was specifically addressing the idea that conquerors write history that gets passed down, which is why the dark side of our forefathers is not well covered in schools. -

Re; Yellowstone. For those of you who grew up in Canada or one of the US-Canada border towns, Hugh Dillon, the frontman for the Canadian punk band The Headstones, plays a recurring character in Yellowstone. He's a sheriff in the show. I don't watch the show myself, so I don't know any other details. But Hugh posts Yellowstone stuff on his twitter frequently. -

The victors are always the publishers of history. It's a shame that we did not learn more as children about the ugly side of our history, but we're no different than any other conquerors in that respect. -
Remind me again, why does the league fans hate Bettman? (I know why WE hate him. Him, and Brett Hull)

Who is blaming Sam for anything? Haven't seen one blame Sam post in here.
-
Lol it was sarcasm, not a point.

He's had more blank slates to show he has a center's skillset than any other player in my memory. Hell, I'm pretty sure Ralph said publicly last year that he was looking at Sam at center.
-
It is franchise. I've heard they like to do things their own way. Outstanding.
-
That is how I remember it as well. It was wishful thinking, and thus worthy of the criticism it received.
-
In game situations he's had small opportunities to prove himself. However, he's been in camp with three head coaches on teams that needed centers, in years where the coaches have said they would be evaluating him at center, and at the end of camp Sam was in RW. He's had his chances to be an NHL center. He's shown people that evaluate him behind the scenes that he is more valuable at RW.

3 coaches that needed centers have watched Sam play and said “he’s a RW”. Nuff said.

With all of the talk of debilitating and long term health issues related to COVID infections, I’m really curious to see numbers describing the incidence of non-fatal but serious complications. Add those numbers to death rates and this thing might look even more serious than it already looks.

Youtube has been an amazing source gor maintaining my relative sanity during the COVID crisis. Some of the content on Youtube Is fantastic. And you are in total control of what you watch. The content that alot of the musical performers have been putting out during this timeframe has been terrific. The weekly live performances have really been great.

Are you available to date?

Finished up a pretty good sized project today. Had to make a Home Depot run. Today was the first time I became genuinely angry at the people around me. About 25% of the people in the store were maskless. Ridiculous. I gor fed up enough that I finally made a comment in the checkout line. Mr. Maskless in front of me didn’t respond. Arrogant SOBs that find their convenience more important than public safety. Just go out and about wearing a T shirt with a big middle finger on it, because you’re basically doing the same thing when you go into enclosed public places without a mask. FU too.
