Smuggler's Notch IS cool. Loved the time I spent there. For me, it's got to be New Orleans French Quarter. The architecture, the vibe, the crowd. Favorite fun place. Other than that, give me a quiet lake shore anywhere. I'm home listening to waves and watching the water. The wife and I have been talking about retiring to a lake. My new position might just allow us to get into that lake house earlier than we hoped.

I love raw tuna in all its forms. Now it's time for a cigar....

I don't know about NY as a whole, it is certainly a western NY thing. Add slaw and mac salad.....

Old Grand Dad 114 neat.

You can't get a proper fish fry in Florida, and the closest they have is $29 a plate.

Sounds like most every human on Earth, really. We all have our biases and seek out data that supports it.

Squirrels used to get mine every year. The only defense was planting more than they could eat.. They'll eat the damned things just as they are starting to tinge with red.

And hard to find if you live in many inner cities. You can’t find a decent vegetable selection in the crappy little grocery story in the middle of Buffalo. Like I said, its a distilled answer.

What motivation does he have to lie about it?

Tage had 0 secondary assists? Weird. Mitts is solidly middle of the team. Ugh. And Asplund will not be an NHL player for any more than a cup of coffee.

A lake front house, glass of whiskey, a Rocky Patel vintage 1999, and the Perseids will make for awesome vacation nights if the cloud cover doesn’t intervene.

As long as the wind is reasonable I'll be on the water. I need this *****.

Big, meaty things to put your mouth around. What else would you think he meant?

Been a super stressful year. Jan 2 announcement that work was closing its doors. A job search that ended when COVID hit. Reluctantly agreeing to move to a part of the country that was COVID ground zero. Dad with a health scare. Closing the place you loved to work while work got busier and busier due to co-workers jumping ship, and then a last minute recruitment and job offer. I put my notice in at work and scheduled a much needed lake vacation for Saturday - Wednesday. And the forecast is rain the whole way.......................... I hate 2020.

There is a place near me (sorry, no name. I try not to be obvious about my locale) that makes hot garlic wings. Deep fried of course. Franks and butter in good proportion, followed by a heavy dose of minced fresh garlic and parmesan, and then they are put in the pizza oven until the garlic and parm get good and carmelized. It crisps up the wings a little further too. Really tasty spin on Buffalo wings.

Tully's makes a respectable coated wing. Tons of pepper in the coating. It's a nice change of pace.

Extra large wings re often a bit more finicky to make well than 375-400 for 10-12 minutes. Sometimes that can work out well, but those huge wings are tougher than smaller wings and usually benefit from a slow cook until nearly done and then a finish at hot temp to crisp up. I've stopped buying jumbo wings because of the pain in the ass factor to make them consistently great.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

I don't want to live in a world where a really awesome salad is named after Trump. -

Haven't done the inland thing in many years. I should pick it up again. I'll be working in the southern tier in about 3 weeks. I usually keep fishing gear in my vehicle. I might have to change the gear I keep in the car. Quite a few streams between the new employer and home.

That’s what I get for a short, not fleshed out response in the middle of a work day. Simple diet and exercise is a well distilled answer, like get a job and work hard is a well distilled answer to fixing poverty. And that is where politics start.

Both. Depends. Walleye, perch, crappies go in the freezer. And those are what I mostly fish for. Walleyes are not particularly fun to catch. They don’t put up much of a fight. Walleye fishing is grocery shopping. But I still enjoy it. A day fishing is better than a day working, and all that. Perch fishing can be alot of fun. It is usually alot of action when you find a school. They put up a better fight for their size. And it’s grocery fishing. Crappie fishing is alot like perch fishing. I sometimes fish for other species. That is always about entertainment/excitement.

I’ve never played with the muskies in the lower river. It sure does have a rep though. I used to fish the upper river for muskies back when I lived in Erie County. There are some beasts lurking in there. Im headed to another musky hotspot for 4 days next week, Chautauqua. Back before catch and release was a thing we took a 51” fish out of Chautauqua. What a thrill that was. That weren’t quite so common as they are now. Not that they are common now. Not planning to fish for muskies next week. Will be bringing my kayak to fish out of. Might be an interesting story to tell if I hook up with a big one in the plastic boat.

His point wasn't. And it's not as simple as diet and exercise, and the rest most definitely is political. And that was my point.

Do they average larger in St L than in Niagara River?
