  1. Hush you. I’m not ready.
  2. If there was any hope for an offersheet I'd agree. But we all know that isn't happening. Given that, I'll take Vesey over a AAAA player. Strome would have to fall below a whole hos tfo sub NHL players to reach least favorite status. None of these comments are to be construed as me wanting the Sabres to pursue Strome. Frankly, I've watched so little of the league in the last 7 years that I have no idea if he is someone we should be pursuing to improve teh team. My comments were solely in regards to overvaluing our scratch off tickets.
  3. A second round pick has a historical 25% chance of playing 100+ NHL games. If someone is calling a second round pick for a proven, youngish NHL player a steep price, they are over valuing 2nd round picks. It would be a steal.
  4. No preference here. Just gimme some damn wings.
  5. So much for that Kodak feal to get back in the pharma business being a feel good story. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1235817?__twitter_impression=true And too bad the stupid policies on thos site won’t allow it to be posted where it will get the attention it deserves.
  6. Dangerfield and Rickles at the top for me. Carlin, Pryor, and Robin Williams round out the GOAT list. Ralphy May is damned funny but I feel the depth of subject matter he works with is lacking. Newhart, it seems like he should be in there somewhere. Comedy has changed over the ages. I have a definite preference for the style, subjects, and delivery of the old timers.
  7. Way to go out on a limb.
  8. Woke up at the lake to rain. Sigh. So much for watching the day come to life from the porch. Aaaaaand..... bright blue skies when I get home. Awesome timing.?
  9. That is exactly the issue with jumbo wings. More cartilage. You have to treat them differently or you end up with a tougher, more gristly wing. And most places aren’t willing to use a slower preparation to get them right.
  10. Yeah, I’ve been medicating myself too. It’s amazing how much whiskey you can go through when you aren’t leaving the cottage.
  11. Thats a helluva lot worse than me being in a lake house for 3 days because it wouldn’t stop raining....
  12. I think there is still plenty of it, but not in the places us old farts used to find it. More and more I think the international news outlets have the reporting we were used to. And NPR and AP still do a respectable job.
  13. There is a notable permanent Hispanic population in Genesee Co, undoubtedly connected to all of the vegetable farms in the area, and a substantial seasonal migrant worker population. As a result, Genesee (and Orleans) County has some excellent Mexican food spots.
  14. Read on twitter this morning: “Dach is a more impactful player than Nylander, and there aren't enough good players on the Hawks to spread out the talent. Nylander on a line with Kane is like the coach's son being on a travel team although he has no business being there.”
  15. This will do for right now.....
  16. We’re leaving tomorrow and schedule is full. Sorry. We used to have a place in the Institution. Really miss it. Now we rent a place a bit south of Predergast. I don’t catch alot of fish here. Don’t fish it often enough to get a real good feel for it. My understanding is drift in tight to the deep weed edges if you are looking for walleyes. You’ll clear a lot of weeds from your rig but that is where you need to be. Out in front of the clock tower is always a hotspot. So is Long Point. Look for weed edges near drop offs. If you are looking for panfish to pass the time its hard to beat the weedflats in front of Mayville.
  17. The case for burning it down... https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/aug/02/it-was-all-a-lie-review-trump-republican-party?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other&__twitter_impression=true Donald isn’t the cause, he’s a symptom. The GOP has completely lost its way.
  18. In the grocery store everyone that I saw was masked.
  19. Me too and I’m supposed to be here for some R&R.
  20. I’m in Chautauqua Lake right now. There are nearly as many OH plates as NY plates where I am staying. Pretty sure noone is quarantining here. Lots of Ohio plates at the grocery store....
  21. These sentiments are long gone unfortunately. Might as well tear down the Statue of Liberty along with those Confederate monuments. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/immigration/article244631817.html
  22. I have several close family members that voted for him. Disappointment in Trump is an understatement. They genuinely thought they would be getting someone different than what they got. In their cases, there won't be a second vote for him. I'm sure for every base supporter there are at least as many that regret their vote.
  23. That sounds right.
  24. I read today that a youth camp in Georgia has 240 confirmed cases linked to it from retreat in June. Ugh. The beginning of the school year is going to result in a huge surge in cases.
  25. There are a few around. There is one in my town. I think I'm still considered metro Buffalo, but maybe not. Used to be one on Union Road north of Losson. No idea if it is still there. It was 30 years ago, LOL
