I'll add this to the trade rules that allow tanking that I don't particularly care for.

This pretty well sums it up. Tage has shown improvement in his AHL stint. He has also improved on the one element that was clearly holding him back. (his physical development). During Tage's time in the NHL he showed he could skate with big leaguers. He showed confidence in one on one battles. But he was clearly physically overmatched. Casey, on the other hand, looked lost in away from the puck positioning, in one on one battles, and really only showed well when he was open and unpressured. They both went to the AHL and Tage's game grew. Reports out of Rochester suggested he was dominating at times and controlling play and possession. The organization saw his development and chose him as the first injury call up. And, of course, he put a bunch of weight on his frame for this year. The reports on Casey from Rochester were mixed at best. He still showed the ability to stickhandle in a phone booth, but his play away from the puck was lousy, and he continued to have issues with possession and one on one battles. And, of course, the team gave Tage an optimistic contract, and Casy a show me contract. I think it's pretty clear which player is expected to make the team and which one still has much to prove. I could have posted this 3 hrs ago, LOL.

No, its not a fact. I no longer think Mitts is more talented. He has better hands than Thompson. What other NHL skill does Mitts demonstrably show better than Thompson? Thompson had shown more in every other way. Mitts is not more talented. Mitts WAS a better prospect. Past tense.

Lol you are the last holdout. It’s pretty apparent that the team values Thompson more, thus the negotiating. You are correct that Mitts will need to beat him out in camp. The consensus around the team sure appears to be that this would be quite unexpected.

The Thompson contract vs. the Mittlestadt contract should be a very good indication of where they are ranked within the organization. IMO there is very, very little risk that Thompson gets beat out for a roster spot by Casey. So little that it probably isn't worth the energy of this post. Reider is a real possiblity tho and Roots is an unknown.

It is rather interesting that there has been nothing reported from either side. Honestly, I think he’s irrelevant now. I’m a little surprised that he wasn’t moved in a minor deal.

4 years ago the curtain was moved and we can now see that the Wizard of Oz was a sham. It never was about the people and now they don’t even have to fake it anymore. The swamp didn’t get drained, it got put under studio lighting and we are now forced to watch it. They know we’ll accept it now. I should elaborate on my point. Phone and workday is hindering. We have proved that we are willing to accept and support (based on party affiliation unfortunately) our leaders breaking major norms and rules that have helped give us the impression that our government is acting in good will. The behavior of Trump, the acceptance of that behavior by the other branches of government, and the support of that behavior from the party base has resulted in a government that is now very much aware that those norms no longer need to be followed. It is sufficient to be on the right team to get support. I have never felt the anxiety for our country’s future that I feel now.

Freeman, you gotta have something other than “I just don’t trust them” if you are going to assume their numbers are just as inaccurate as a known manipulated data set. FL is an extreme given the fact that the data was known to be heavily massaged. Why would you assume any other state would be at that extreme without any real signs of data manipulation or even a motivation to engage in data manipulation?

NY number could still be a blend of NYC and upstate, and NYC separated out for comparison. Just a possibility.
