  1. It appears that the guys they signed were specifically targeted. Your list might make a better fantasy roster than KAs list, but I’m betting he’s put alot more effort into the role and style and gameplan of that list than you did with yours. The team roster appears to have a lot of progress in the last month. Lets see if KA knows how to assemble a team before nitpicking.
  2. I read this morning that he once finished 2nd in a Mr. Universe competition. Not the typical boy in the chorus for sure.
  3. RIP Sean Connery. Another favorite from my younger days gone.
  4. I’ll say it. Beating the Pats now isn’t the same as beating them even last season. Given Brady gone and what that team is becoming, it just doesn’t have the same sense of fulfillment.
  5. But you can't even realistically measure the differences for the first 3 (at least) of those 5-7 years. What's the point? Hey, we had a subjectively better pick of teenagers over the last few years than you did and we don't know if it improved us more than it improved you! I don't get the excitement.
  6. I'll feel better with 3 cups and bragging rights re: drafting.
  7. Better is going to be hard to answer. I imagine it will depend on the role and the system they are placed in. These are two very, very different kind of players. Both high end, but with very different attributes. They both seem to thrive on capitalizing on other players efforts, vacuuming up rebounds, taking advantage of openings that others create, etc. But they do it in very different ways. I think ideally they are both high end 2nd line players that don't look at all out of place on the first line. Jeff is a more dynamic player that thrives on speed and chaos, Sam is a more controlled player that uses his linemates better. My gut tells me that in Ralph's system Sam will be the better player because Ralph demands responsible play, but Jeff will be the flashier, more chaos creating player that won't get put into the best situations because I suspect Ralph won't have as much trust in Jeff. I think Skinner would come out on top in a balls out speed system that emphasizes offensive at the sake of defense. I think they are similar but very different, if that makes sense.
  8. Every player needs elite linemates to hit their plateau. It should be self evident that surrounding even Wayne Gretzky with elite players results in more points for Wayne than surrounding him with lesser players.
  9. VO is a much more dangerous shooter by a fair amount. I don’t think he is as complete a player though. VO reminds me alot of Ray Sheppard. Versus the Patrick Sharpe - Sam comparison I’m so fond of. Who was the more valuable player overall? I’m not sure.
  10. I know this was in jest. My opinion is based on the reality that most of the league up against the cap, Buffalo being fairly close to the cap, and the lieklihood that we would ahve to trade a defenseman in this market to get what is needed. I don't think the right scenario exists. So, wer'e done.
  11. I said it a week and a half ago, we’re done. It just has that feel to me.
  12. thx
  13. I’m hoping that means crowds will be light on election day. I won’t get home until after 6 and I sure won’t want another 30-40-90 minutes in line after that.
  14. Powerplay specialist is sort of a pseudo slur for a player that doesn't have much of a 200' game. In that context I think it fits here.
  15. Had he not forced a trade that hurt the team the maximum amount I might just have a sliver of empathy for that ***** head.
  16. with fava beans and a nice chianti.
  17. Yeah, I don't see where this is a good contract for Sam either. It's a bargain contract for Buffalo and gives Sam no security. This is the 2nd GM now that doesn't see locking Sam up as a high priority. I think he gets moved this season. I hope they are making the right decision. He's a solid RW with Jack.
  18. 4 dogs on the grill for lunch. Raw, they are darker colored than grocery store dogs and have a very peppery aroma. They darkened up further as they cooked. Did not swell at all, in fact they shriveled a bit as they cooked. The meat inside looked like cooked hamburger when they were done. Flavor is VERY beefy. They taste somewhere in between a burger and a dog, closer to burger, really. Pepper and nutmeg were definitely in there. The casing was so thin to be basically unnoticeable. That is a plus in my book. I love the flavor of Zweigle dogs but their casing really turns me off unless you cook the hell out of it. These casings were totally unnoticeable to me. Big thumbs up there. Very unique hot dogs. Beefy, with pepper and nutmeg. There will definitely be a repeat purchase.
  19. This seems like the beginning of the end of Sams time in Buffalo. Two sides in obvious disagreement regarding value agreeing to short contracts until it is time to move on.
  20. Whats with the Tage Thompson shrine?

  22. Kidding aside, I recall an article back around February-March timeframe that mentioned an apartment building in China with open plumbing vent lines in the walls that were a strongly suspected source of an outbreak.
