  1. The hell you doing in Danbury? My former employer is headquartered there. There are some decent restaurants but I don't know of any real night life. Don't recall any breweries right in Danbury but 40 min south of there in Norwalk there was one or two. Sorry, forgot the names, but I don't think there are more than 2 so should be easy to figure out.
  2. He thinks he's got a radio call in show.
  3. A psychology grad student could make a helluva thesis out of this forum. Anyone that wanted an experienced coach for this team over most of the past 7 years was shouted down by those yelling "dinosaur!" "analytics!" "progressive!". And now after the last 3 coaches everyone wants what was derided just a couple of seasons ago as a retread. You guys so entertain me. You be you, man.
  4. No question here. We have an organization that has fallen on its face. They absolutely need an experienced hand that knows how to coach in the NHL to help right the ship. A college coach, or any other coach not intimately familiar with the NHL is inherently high risk. Thats the last thing we need.
  5. Well stated. I miss being interested in hockey. Stuff it, you two.
  6. I could like this guy. 👆
  7. Huh. I got a server not found. Those hats might make we change my poll response to is this the lowest point in Sabres history.
  8. Who was that poster that was obviously a Sabres plant that came in here a couple of times blowing rose petals around? Sounds a bit like that person.
  9. The thing is, you can lose the trade and improve your team. You don’t have to win the trade. You do have to get enough back to replace Jacks role AND fill some holes, add character or grit, etc. The thing is, you can lose the trade and improve your team. You don’t have to win the trade. You do have to get enough back to replace Jacks role AND fill some holes, add character or grit, etc. So important I said it twice!
  10. Thornton is a fair comparable. Buffalo related, so is Joe Ferguson.
  11. After this run I can't believe there were enough of you watching this game to account for 19 pages of comments. Who knew there were that many masochists on this forum? Or is the Sabres the only abusive relationship you actively pursue?
  12. Only if they are traded for picks and prospects. AFAIAC any trade needs to be a benefit now trade, not a futures trade. The culture of losing must end now.
  13. I haven't enjoyed watching other teams since the Sabres decided to tank.
  14. Wait...... there are players in the league with that kind of creativity under pressure? Who knew?
  15. Wholly agree. The volume of calls for rash decision making is surprising. Especially among those who were the loudest when complaining about prior GMs rash decisions. Make the move when the right replacement is in hand.
  16. You really think an interim coach is any improvement at all? NFW
  17. I'm guessing you would have complained about a tweet too. RK has had what, 21 games this season? After a season where Jack and Risto had breakout years under RK. 21 games is an unreasonably short length of time to pull the trigger after how well players like Jack, Sam, and Risto did last season. Adams has just communicated how painfully aware he is that the team is floundering. He needs to line up the next coach before he can dump this one.
  18. You'd rather see Steve Smith coach in the interim until the next coach is hired? The right thing to do is wait until the next guy is lined up and ready to go.
  19. Or there is a negotiation taking place that hasn't run its course yet and a quarantine period to work with.
  20. Well, what the hell we supposed to do you mo-ron?
  21. It's a damn shame that being put in a losing situation was forced upon this team by upper management. KA just expressed very eloquently how dangerous that is.
  22. Very good point, I think. This press conference may have been about sending a message to the team. If you feel comfortable, don't. Changes will be made if changes on the ice do not occur.
  23. We'll never know, but by tanking and stripping the team of everything of value they created a situation where all of the draft, trade, and coaching decisions became must hit situations. It was a plan with no room for error. None. We'll never know if not tanking would ahve worked out differently, but we do know it would have left us with more room for error because a foundation would still be present.
  24. I heard alot of what I waned to hear, and some of what I expected to hear. I heard a GM that thinks his coach isn't working out. I heard a GM that thinks his players aren't playing hard enough. I heard a GM that is actively working to make the right changes and is being patient so the changes made are in fact the right ones. I heard a GM who refused to throw his players under the bus, and also refused to throw his coach under the bus. This is good leadership. Let's see where this goes...
