  1. Unfortunately, I think this is accurate. Mr. Dahlin really needs to lose his temper.
  2. Wookie gets my concern. And as far as Jack is concerned, I think he's still being affected by having all that weight on his shoulders. He needs the load lightened. Man, I really hoped Staal would have provided that.
  3. As I said above, to prevent crushing the kids. At this point I think that may be his one and only value.
  4. Any hipster brewery is an adequate shrine to Dark.
  5. It's more than Toronto reporting. I know that you want to write it off a such, but assuming that is assuming that all their writing is agenda driven. I don't buy it. It's too convenient. And I've already told you I have no first hand knowledge of AM, so I don't know what you are expecting for an answer here. My point was a simple one. Around the league, people that get paid to discuss these things almost universally put AM higher than Jack. Read into it whatever you want. And BS this didn't get debated last year. AM vs. Jack was a frequent discussion point in last season's around the NHL thread. And I don't have the give a ***** level to back that up.
  6. I'm torn here. I do not like "just play the kids". The kids get crushed under all that weight because they don't have support. I will go to my grave firmly believing that the reason that we still suck 10 years later is because we had too many kids being supported by too many sub NHL players, and the weight of expectation was crsuhing them. I don't need to see this generation of kids get rushed. But, on the other hand, how effectively is Staal helping develop the kids that are here. I don't know that I like either solution.
  7. From my POV you are a bit left of center (maybe more than a bit). From my POV Liger is more outer level left, aka extreme. And unflinching as well. Sometimes words with bad connotations can be used accurately without the bad connotation. It is what it is. And sometimes we just need to accept where we are.
  8. Coboconk is an awesome town name. I just had to say that.
  9. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive as you wrote them. "Serious" being the key word.
  10. I never used the word talent. Jack oozes with talent. I'm not sure why he doesn't look like a superstar on the ice more often. Or why the people that are paid to watch and report hockey think he doesn't bring it like AM does.
  11. I'm not gonna judge intent here, which is where "dirty" comes from, but that was a hit that the Pen player just can't make. Maybe reckless is a better word than careless.
  12. The "far away from the boards" part is what made it a really dangerous hit. It was certainly careless.
  13. No, I am recalling all of the national US and CA sportswriters and "experts" that consistently have Matthews ahead of Jack in their rankings and ratings. the members of this forum piss and moan about those articles with extreme regularity. You know, the folks with actual bias. To be honest, I don't have ***** for first hand knowledge of AM's game because the Sabres have made watching other NHL teams disinteresting to me. I watched because I was deeply interested in how we match up across the league. I lost that interest almost 10 years ago now. No hard to figure out why. So, no, no reccency bias here, just the intake of information provided by people without a rooting interest.
  14. Yes. the moment KA has the final info he needs regarding the extent of change.
  15. Ralph is asking the players to step out of their comfort zone. Its not about sending a message to Pittsburgh, its about sending a message the the Sabres and getting them looking out for each other. This may be the watershed moment. They either step up and build from it, or its the bellweather to make big changes.
  16. Not in the eyes of most of the rest of the league that doesn't have your bias or emotional attachment. AM is a superstar in most eyes and Jack is a tier below is most views outside of Sabres fandom.
  17. 😀 I wondered when your feathers would ruffle.
  18. Hard to take when you were emotionally invested in the process. I guess it is easier to take when you assumed early on that the this was a very real possible outcome.
  19. Philly was out first choice for locations but they sold out before we had a chance to get tix. Would have been nice to drive instead of fly. But Minny is gonna be fun as hell. I've only seen Minny from the airport so should be a good time exploring. We're taking 5 days off so we'll have time to explore. We're in the "Fuego" section, front and center. Pit, baby!
  20. Rudy never was that kind of player. That knee on knee hit was a last second bad decision. Not “dirty” play.
  21. Cuz Jack never hit Matthews level. shraderenfreude
  22. So last years tix for Rammstein are honored for this year. Sept 3 in Minneapolis. Just booked flights and hotel. Again. Better happen this year. I need a sick ***** stage show.
  23. Living through what we are living through? I'd pay double. Goalie purgatory sucks.
