I'm in the same boat. Waffled on Foo Fighters in Syracuse too and now those tickets are gone. Just when I thought I'd be seeing live shows again too....

This smells of truth-iness. We all hate when someone trashes our team. We all lean towards defense of what is ours. But Lehner's comments were likely heartfelt, and givien the exodus of players off this team that don't want to be here we probably shouldn't dismiss them. This team is a wreck.

And the new additions plus development of the kids likely does not = Sam+20 games of 70% Jack. 32nd place roster.

Could be is the correct language, but not likely. It is essentially the same pieces minus Jack and Sam and that group was a 31st place team last season.

No. It’s a horrible group. Has 32nd place written all over it.

I don't know. They have a stubbornness about doing things their way instead of simply hiring the guy who has done this exact sort of thing before.

However, the team continues to hire staff that are from "the outside". Makes you wonder if they keep looking for unconventional in the medial staff just like they've done for so many other positions.

It's a totally irrational fear, but somewhere in the pit of my stomach I have the same feeling. This team is so bad, and has been so bad for so long, and so obviously dysfunctional, that the thought of 3 years of college and he can walk free worries me. Worry is a strong word. I don't have enough emotional involvement to call it worry, but the dark thought is there.

Get over yourself. There is nothing serious about being a Sabres fan. It is an entertainment source. Nothing more. It isn't like you're walking away from being a made man or quitting the Hell's Angels.

I don’t think it needs to be said (at least to the long timers) that I abhor this strategy. I hated it the first time we did it. My mind hasn’t changed this time. I find it fascinating that there are fans thinking KA is incompetent as opposed to cold and calculating regarding the path he has chosen. OK, maybe just one fan. 😂

Everyone talking about whether KA thinks UPL is ready or if they really wanted Linus. I think its pretty obvious all they really are looking for adequate at best goaltending and just enough talent to make sure UPL is pushed and not given an NHL job.

The part I left above is pretty much how I’ve read the situation as well. Frankly, I think that the 3 headed goalie monster we’ve got now is going to battle for 2 NHL spots, and I don’t think UPLs development is going to be a factor in whether he’s on Buffalo’s or Roc’s roster. Best 2 on the big club, leftover rides the bus. That’s what I think is KA’s plan.

How is Hall’s situation really any different than Hinostras? Why would Hall be inclined towards polite and disingenuous and Hinostra not have the same motivation to do the same? They both took the best money they could at the time. Yes, Hinostra maybe gets opportunity here that he wouldn’t elsewhere, but at the end of the day both were supposedly wooed by coach-speak. Lets see if he’s still motivated when there is nothing to play for in November.

Hall said himself it was a huge factor. And I am sure it was right up until he realized this team was not winning anything. And it will be the same for Hinostra as well. And that is my only point.
