  1. @thewookie1 why is it so important to you that a player leaving Buffalo doesn’t succeed elsewhere? Why does it matter if the Sabres improve overall?
  2. If there is anything to hate on about this, the relative shortage of NHL on his resume would be it. I understand that he’s worked with NHL players, but an experienced guy from a successful team would bring more reassurance.
  3. But I thought there were only like 32 of these jobs available and anyone would be a fool to turn one down.
  4. Dominic Hasek - Safe Driving Instructor
  5. Two last names? That seems as untrustworthy as someone with two first names.
  6. Pounded in the cornhole is the essence of being a fan of Buffalo sports. You grow up having acquired the taste without even realizing it. There is no not liking it anymore. Like warm deli meat on a over salty bun with those nasty seeds in rye bread.
  7. This being an inconsequential hire is exactly why it is worth being upset over. *if only I had the emotional budget anymore
  8. I hear Patrik Berglund is looking to get into the advisor game as well.
  9. Like I said, this is the hockey equivalent of a performance improvement plan. One missed goal and he’s gone.
  10. Byram is young and also has further potential. And his game is currently stronger than Power’s. Frankly, I think it comes down more to style of play than ceiling as I think their ceilings aren’t terribly different. I also think there is more risk in Power’s ceiling simply because he is further from it. I like Byrams game better. Why not find him the more suitable partner instead? Regardless, whoever is kept needs to be properly supported, or we are missing the playoffs for a 15th straight season.
  11. No excuses. That’s why an executive needs to be a good recruiter too. Nonetheless, a candidate that has demand certainly would have some incentive to turn down a position if they have evaluated that position to be a career killer.
  12. I mean, I have theorized as much in the past.
  13. Byram played a better game last season, and displayed much more dynamic play. Right now, betting on potential upside is hope. Hope isn’t a plan.
  14. Why is it an easy decision? What do you think Power has that makes him so obviously more important to keep?
  15. I like Byram’s game better than Power’s. I never get nice things.
  16. That’s it. ***** all over the last remaining bit of positivity I have left.
  17. I am still shocked he survived the palm trees and taxes speech. That was such an anti-leadership moment. Should have been fired almost immediately after that bit of leadership failure. This sounds to me like a short leash situation. Those kind of presentations usually contain milestones that need to be met. I would expect a change as soon as a planned item gets missed. Then again, I said at the time I don’t see how he survives palm trees and taxes, so my prediction rate is not looking good.
  18. 3 days of presentations to Pegula tells me he wanted to see a detailed explanation of where we went wrong, and the path out. In my experience in the corporate world, this is the management equivalent of a performance improvement plan. And everyone in the corporate world knows a performance improvement plan is usually a hand on the exit door. Frankly, Adams hasn’t earned the opportunity to dig his way out, but here we are.
  19. Never heard of the guy.
  20. I feel better now. Whoever caters team meals should be next.
  21. This stupid event has more pages of conversation than a mid season Sabres game. Even Promo the Bot is more active than for actual games.
