  1. I think if I took a photo of my liquor cabinet you might weep.
  2. Yeah, I was trying to be polite about it. It's not good stuff. If you enjoyed Angel's Envy there is a whole world out there of wine, port, and cognac finished bourbons for you to try. I've got bottles of Belle Mead Cognac, Mediera, and sherry fished bourbons and they are all delicious. Issac Bowman has a pretty solid port finished bourbon. Legent is a pretty good one too. Not a classic bourbon in profile, but a good pour. I've really gotten into wine/port/sherry finished bourbons lately. The interesting thing is, most of them are MGP sourced bourbons, but they all have fairly unique flavor profiles.
  3. Proper is tough stuff. Not a fan at all.
  4. Spent the morning on the water. Peaceful, barely a breeze, only a handful of boats, loons calling to each other across the lake. Gorgeous. Caught a few fish for dinner tomorrow. Bonus. This is what keeps me sane. If heaven isn’t exactly like that I’d rather stay here.
  5. I feel so old. My favorites are gone. For me, a favorite restaurant is more about the context of the visit than it is about the food. Our anniversary dinner place used to be Lord Chumley’s downtown. I don’t know that Janice Ocum ever raved about the place, but it was a special event place for us and we sure raved about it. Our Friday nights when we were dating often included Brennans Bowery Bar. You couldn’t have convinced us back then there were better wings anywhere. There was a place in Batavia called Chardonnay’s that we discovered when we were first looking to move out of Erie Co. What a fantastic twist on Italian-French fusion. Didn’t make it. There was a place on Maple and Sweethome that had great Italian food and an awesome cigar bar. Lots of date nights there when our son was small. Regular enough that we could afford it, fancy enough that we felt like we were splurging. Love the places we call regular now but I miss the context of those old haunts.
  6. I don’t know. They call them busts for a reason. If this draft class is lacking as much as all the in the know folks keep saying, Sure things probably don’t exist in this draft class.
  7. Relative to the rest of the league in their time, its pretty close. Noone lamented moving on from Turgeon, granted we did get LaFontaine in the deal. I don’t really see history looking more kindly on Eichel than it did on Turgeon in Buffalo. Pierre was a reluctant leader. I get the sense Jack has been a reluctant Sabre for more than just last season.
  8. I’ve got him a hair below Turgeon at this point. Has the ability to be more, but Turgeon had his best years outside of Buffalo.
  9. If only that were the real worst case....
  10. I don’t give a rats ass about drinking/partying to be honest. Plenty of stars that are known partiers win big. The disrespect reported on towards the true pros that were brought in though was a big concern to me.
  11. My guess is you scalded it in the cup
  12. There were only a small handful of us back then that were concerned that these were red flags. I don’t know if the concerns were actually legit, but I def wouldn’t be surprised if it came out they were. Adams seems to be done with Jack. There is obviously something there that has his dander up.
  13. Not gonna lie. Dabbling in this is likely part of my retirement income plan. A good friend made it work very well for him. I figure if I don’t do it someone else will. This is one way an average guy can get ahead. Been a rough 7 days in my circle. Next door neighbor died late last week after a long cancer fight. Son’s FIL to be had a heart attack and died Tuesday early AM. 53 yrs old. Same as me. And last night my other next door neighbor fell in his driveway and couldn’t get up. Don’t know how long he was there when I heard him while I was battening down the hatches for the night. I’m not sure how he’s doing now. Last I knew the ambulance was still in the driveway.
  14. Yeah, I suppose we just really can’t trade Jack if we eliminate the entire eastern conference and any team in memory that got the better of us in a trade. Seems awful counter productive to handcuff ourselves in that way. IMO bottom line if it is a given that Javk is moving on, he goes to the highest bidder. And I really dont give a ***** if he goes to even a most hated team if it maximizes our return.
  15. This is mostly where I am at, but I think the “right” 2C could be effective enough to move ahead. Obviously the other pieces would need adjustment to compensate.
  16. I’ll be honest, I haven’t attempted to keep track of who is in which camp and what the details of the two sides consist of. I just know what I want to see. And I’m not sure what you are asking, if its a futures based trade we can’t compete, or if Jack is traded we can’t compete? I suspect the 1st is most likely accurate and suspect with the right players coming back in the 2nd we should be competitive. I’d have to see the return to comment.
  17. I don’t want a rebuild. I’m certainly OK with a few players gone if they don’t want to be here, even if it is out star players. But there is no reason it has to set us back. The return has to be correct of course, but losing Jack, Sam, and Risto does not have to be a step backwards. A return that makes next season hopeful is certainly possible, but it can’t be a futures heavy return. It can’t look like what we did 8 yrs ago when we moved everything for lottery tickets. holy poorly structured paragraph, Batman!
  18. Gawd, I hate that show. I have to suffer through it every weekend.
  19. Here, here. If we're moving Jack (and I think we are), then blow this ***** up. No, not tank. Full scale roster reboot though. Just make sure there are good vets sprinkled throughout the lineup. Emphasis on good.
  20. Inkman wants all the sausages.
  21. Every year starting in a few months.
  22. Wait for it....
  23. Squirrel !??!
  24. We need a third choice: I'm only participating to watch the drama unfold.
  25. The only glitch I see in your numbers is that there is a likliehood of significant overlap in the vaccinated group and the COVID antibody group. WTF knows how much overlap.
